Ready For 2011

I can't believe I'm writing my last post in 2010. This has been
an amazing year for me - so many things happened that I've only
dreamed of in the past.

Getting invited to amazing fashion events, meeting a lot of
bloggers whose blogs I used to read every day before I started
mine, getting interviewed and so much more.
I had the chance to meet Scott Schuman from The Sartorialist and
Baptiste Giabiconi, the famous model we all know from the
Chanel-adds and editorials.

2010 has been a year with a lot of ups and also some downs - but,
being the optimistic person that I am, I try to focus on all of
the positive things in my life.
One of those positive things are you, my amazing readers and
followers. Without you, I and Shark Attack, wouldn't be what
we are today. So thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for all the love
and support.
I wish you all nothing but the best for 2011, and I hope that all
of your dreams and wishes will come true!

Below are some of my favorite moments in 2010.

Red Riding Hood

Red Riding Hood is probably one of the world's most famous tales / stories,
reminding us (or at least me) of our childhood. When I was at the movie theatre
recently, I saw this trailer of Amanda Seyfried as Red Riding Hood, and I got
very excited. Maybe not so much about the story, but about her beautiful red
cape - I want it! The scene where she's walking through the mountains and the
wind blows 'away' her cape is probably one of my favorite scenes, and I
haven't even seen the movie!

Seeing the trailer above, I also immediately thought about Chanel's No.5-commercial,
featuring the stunning Estella Warren.
This Chanel-commercial is one of my favorites!

First Winter Outfit

As I told you a couple of times before, I absolutely hate
winter clothes, but the freezing weather of the past couple
of weeks forced me to change my spring-style way of clothing
this winter.

So, here it is: a quick post to show you my first 'suitable'
winter outfit.
Why I hate winter clothes? They really make me feel 'trapped'
and they itch like hell -- This outfit wasn't an exception!
Okay, enough complaining, I think you get the picture.

Trying to avoid another all-black outfit, I chose a cream
and brown-outfit. I'm not sure what to think about the
change, though. :)

P.S.: Sorry for the sleepy and tired face. These days of work
and studying are showing already...

Spotted: Perfect New Year's Outfit

I can totally see myself wearing this dress on New Year's Eve,
but I think every girl could... ;)
In a weird way, the thick and heavy golden necklace fits perfectly
with the already flashy dress.

I must admit that, in real life, I'm still undecided on what I'll
wear on New Year's Eve. I hope I'll find the time to go shopping,
but unfortunately, I'll be very busy these days...

If you follow me on Twitter, you already now that I'm studying
for my exams. Combining study with work, I'll probably won't be
able to update Shark Attack as much as I would like to...
I'll do my best, though!

Christmas: The Presents

First of all: Merry Christmas!
As you can see, I didn't receive that many presents last night.
I asked for money, so that I can buy some things I really want
and need.

Nevertheless, here are some of the presents I did receive:

1. Maxi dress received from my aunt. Still figuring out when I
can wear this. :D
2. Miss Dior Chérie-perfume. I always wear this perfume, I love
the sweet scent.
3. Dolce & Gabbana-bag. To be honest: this is my mom's present,
but of course, I can't wait to wear the bag myself. I already
brainstormed about possible outfits to wear this bag with. :D

What were your presents?

Christmas: The Outfit

Finally, it's Christmas.
Even though I sometime think it's overrated, I love spending time with my
family - eating (a lot), laughing, talking, arguing (something you can't miss in
an Italian family), ...

It's also the last time I can relax, since I have exams after the
Christmas holidays, which basically means I have to study when most of my friends
have two weeks off.

This embellished dress / top was a gift from my dad quite some time ago.
Even if some of the embellishment is already gone a little bit, I can't find it in
my heart to throw this item away.

I wish you all a Merry Christmas and I hope that all your wishes come true.
I also would like to thank you for following Shark Attack and for writing such
sweet comments.
You have no idea how much they mean to me!

Spotted: Coloring Book by Hermès

I wonder if there are really parents out there
who would spend 130 dollars on a coloring book by
Hermès for their toddlers.

Wouldn't you just want to kill them if they'd color
outside the lines or rip the pages out of it?

Wanted: Biker Boots

Picture: H&M

I've been looking for the perfect pair of biker boots for quite
some time now, but I just can't seem to find them.
I tried the ones on the picture above at H&M, but I couldn't get
in a 39, and a 40 was way too big for me.

It's important for me to find the right pair, since I have a
size 39 / 40, and it's not hard to look like Bigfoot with these
shoes on. And it isn't difficult either to look like your a
member of a biker gang or something. :D

I love the versatility of the biker boots:
you can wear them in the summer, during winter (They'd come in handy
with all the snow there's been here lately), with jeans, with shorts,
with dresses ...

So, if you see a similar pair to the ones above, please let
me know!

P.S.: I did a Celebrity vs. Blogger again, like I did HERE.
I like the idea and I'm thinking about doing it more often.
What do you think? Do you like it?

Bows & Dresses

Ok, I must admit that I was secretly trying to channel my inner
Blair Waldorf with this outfit, my favorite Gossip Girl-character.

With doll like-dresses and big bows / headbands as Blair's signature look,
I decided to give the outfit a more edgy look by wearing my leather, peep toe
ankle boots I showed you before.

My mom said I looked like an easter egg with that bow in my hair,
but in these times of Christmas, I'd rather say I look like a
wrapped up present. :D

& I need to buy a decent camera ASAP, because the quality of
these pictures is driving me insane!

Wanted: Chanel's Byzance Golden Jacket

I might want this jacket, but if I'll ever get it is
quite unlikely.
Every day, I have a look on my favorite fashion blogs,
and The Cherry Blossom Girl by Alix is one of them.
She was invited to Chanel's Byzance fashion show in Paris,
and posted some pictures of the show.

My heart literally stopped when I saw this beautiful
embellished golden jacket.
I literally can't stop looking at it.
Karl Lagerfeld again showed us a sneek peek into his
creative mind and visions and he never fails to impress me.

And let us not forget the very talented craftsmen who spent
hours, if not days, on this jacket (and the rest of the collection).

Too Much Snow + Give Away Winner

Yesterday, my mom wanted to walk in the snow.
Since she does so much for me, I decided to just say 'yes'
without any complains, so that I could do something back for
once. (Not that walking in the snow could cover it!)

Refusing to wear UGGS-like boots, I decided to take out my
knee-high boots again. My mom said I was crazy and that I would
break my neck walking in the show with them - and she was right.
We decided to snap some pictures, even if the snow made it
almost impossible.
I wanted to wear my McQueen-scarf, but thought it was a better
idea if I wore this similar cheaper model, fearing my McQueen one
would get ruined in the snow.

New In My Closet

Here are the shoes I bought at the River Island-event which I talked about in my
previous posts:

black, leather, peep toe ankle boots.

Even though I tell myself to add some color to my wardrobe, I always go back to black,
as Amy Winehouse would say.
I'm not familiar with peep toe boots, so I decided to surf around on the Internet,
to get some inspiration.

I found one celebrity and one blogger wearing black peep toe ankle boots.
Curious about who they are?

Shark Attack At River Island - By Other Bloggers

Sorry to bother you with all the River Island-pictures, but I had such a nice time
and I really want to share it all with you!

In this post you'll find some pictures of me, taken by other bloggers.
The picture above was taken by Annebeth from The Styling Dutchman.
The red heels are from Cindy (Glamour Blog) and the black wedges are mine!

I'll try to show you the shoes I bought ASAP!

Thank you all so much for the sweet comments, they really make my day!

River Island S/S '11 - Part 2

As promised, the second part of the River Island-event I attended,
in which I'll show you some random pictures I took.

The picture above is taken on my way to Antwerp, where I met Cindy from Glamour Blog.
She's the sweetest and we'll definitely meet again during the Christmas holidays!
Other bloggers present were Tiany (Belmodo), Sofie (Fashionata), Emma (My Fashion Blog),
Annebeth (The Styling Dutchman), Paulien (Polienne), Sabina (Insomnia), Kim (All About The Style), the two bloggers from Modoholics whose names I didn't catch and many, many more!

Judging from the list above, you can imagine that it was nice to be surrounded with so
many other bloggers! We even received a voucher to shop, and I bought some black, leather,
peep toe ankle boots I'll show you later.

Stay tuned for part 3, where I'll show you some pictures taken by other bloggers!

River Island S/S '11 - Part 1

Yesterday I was invited to the River Island-store in Antwerp to have an
exclusive preview at the Spring / Summer '11-collection.
Seeing the clothes makes me longing for summer even more:

maxi dresses, lace, colored leopard prints, see through dresses to wear on the beach ...

Here are some pictures of the collection.
Stay tuned for another post tomorrow, where I'll show you some random pictures I took
at the store and from other bloggers who were present!

I would like to thank the people from Oona and River Island for inviting me!

Street Style Shoot for SOUP Magazine Japan

I received an email from Coolhunt, asking me if I knew a suitable photographer for a street style
shoot they were planning to do in Brussels.
It was an assignment for SOUP, a Japanese street style magazine.

I was happy to help them out, but finding a photographer was more difficult than I expected!
My first option couldn't do it due to a lack of time. I then contacted Bjorn from the Ben Trovato Blog,
and he helped me a lot (Thanks again, Bjorn)!
Our second option cancelled last minute, but luckily, Bjorn found another photographer very soon:
Femke from Me And My Ego.

Of course, I can not show you the pictures until they're published in the magazine, but here's a
behind-the-scene picture which will give you a sneek peek!
I'll keep you updated!

R.I.P Sam Edelman Boots, But ...

I think that I'm cursed when it comes to wearing new shoes.
The first time I wore my Chanel-flats, I almost ruined them by falling down the stairs and taking
everything with me on the way down.
And today, when I wanted to wear my new Sam Edelman-boots I showed you in the previous
post, this happened! When I zipped my left bootie up, the zipper opened from the way down.
The little 'handle' which you zip or unzip with, wouldn't move anymore, which means my foot
was trapped in my bootie.

After almost throwing a vase out of the window and my mom almost ripping my foot off when she
was trying to move the zip down, I decided to go to the store where I bought the boots.
(I bought them at 1927 in Maasmechelen Village!)
They immediately gave me a pair of new boots, without any further questions!
Now that's what I call some good service. I know a lot of stores where the sales women would be
a pain in a case like this.
So thank you to the sweet sales women at 1927 for the amazing service!

I'm not showing my face that much on the pictures, because I wasn't feeling very well, and it
showed a lot, even if I put some make-up on. :D

Sam Edelman Ankle Boots

Here are the Sam Edelman-shoes I talked about yesterday:
black suéde studded ankle boots!

I was torn between these booties and a pair of pumps / sandals, but I chose these ones because I can
wear them more often than the other ones. Maybe I'll buy the other shoes when they're on sale. =)
I love platform shoes, they are much more comfortable to walk in!

What do you think? Hit or miss?

Snowy & Cold

Yesterday was extremely cold and it snowed AGAIN.
God, I can't wait for summer to begin...

Since didn't own any suitable shoes for winter, and it has been so cold outside
the last couple of weeks, I decided it was high time to find some nice shoes.
I found these brown with shearling wedges at New Look, and I must
admit that they walk like heaven!

These pictures were taken before my mom and I went to Maasmechelen Village,
an outlet centre in my home town.
A new shoe store opened there, and they sell Michael Kors, See by Chloé and
Sam Edelman-shoes. I bought some Sam Edelman-ankle boots which I'll show you
tomorrow!

Inspiration

I'm sorry for the overload on inspiration-posts,
but I've a lot of schoolwork to do, which takes up most of my time.
But I don't want to neglect the blog either ...

I can't wait for the Christmas-holidays to begin, so I can breathe again, even if it is for just a little bit
because I have exams after the holidays, so I have to study.
(Did I just type the longest sentence ever, or what?)
There are also a couple of nice events coming up, which I hope I can attend if school doesn't
keep ruining my social life.
Ok, enough with the 'down' talk. ;)

I love clicking around on street style-blogs and pick up some inspiration for my outfit.
My favorites are, obviously: Stockholm StreetstyleHanneliJak & Jil and The Sartorialist.
(All of these pictures were taken from those websites, by the way.)
If you have some nice street style-blogs you'd like to recommend, feel free to leave a comment.
I love to discover new blogs!

For The Boys: Nike Destroyer Jacket

Here's a post for my male readers, if I have any *laughs*, introducing the Nike Destroyer-jacket.
I bet we can all remember the red an white jackets the sporty hunks used to wear in those
high school-movies.
The university of Harvard was the first to introduce these jackets in their baseball team,
which you can see on the first picture below.

Now, Nike has decided to give these jackets a modern touch by editing a few details.
My post title isn't that correct, since the jackets can also be worn by girls.
The will be different colors and different models available,
like the more 'classic' model and the 'hoodie' model.
The inside of the jackets are covered with a thin, soft and special kind of isolation (called Termore),
which will protect you from the cold.

Boys: Would you be interested in buying these jackets?
Girls:  Would you be interested in buying these jackets for your boyfriend (or for yourself, perhaps)?

You can click below to see more pictures and close-ups.

Feature: Bloggers.com

Is there anything better than to come home from a long day of work,
reading an email you've been featured on the Internet?
Well, that's exactly what happened to me today!

I've been featured on the front page of Bloggers, in the section Editor's Pick Of The Day.
Bloggers is a community where you can share and promote your blog with the rest of the
world. It's also the right place to meet other bloggers with the same interests.

Thank you all for the sweet comments and support,
I can't thank you all enough...

The Cape - Part 2

After wearing the Burberry-cape I got for my birthday here,
I decided to wear my sister's Zara-cape today.

I got to quit early from work today,
since there was nothing to do due to the icy roads and snow,
giving me the opportunity to take some outfit pictures.
We were just in time,
since a snow blizzard started to come in just after taking a few shots.
Uhm, I was trying to channel my inner Zorro in the last picture,
which failed big time. :D

How are you going to spend the cold and snowy weekend?

Xoxo,

Krizia.

No time for an outfit post due to school,
but here are some 'new' pictures about things, people ... I like.
Since there always are pictures of girls whose style I like on my blog,
I thought I'd add some pictures of guys too.
Seems only fair. ;)

Have a great weekend!
I have to work Saturday AND Sunday. :(

The Bags

Hi everyone!

A lot of you asked me if I could do a post on my bag collection,
and I've finally found the time to take some pictures of my bags.
School is demanding a lot of my time right now,
but I'm doing my best to post as much as I can!

These bags aren't all mine,
I also included those of my mom and my sister,
since we were each other's bags often.
The advantages of living with women who are all interested in fashion. :D

P.S. As you can see, I'm not the best photographer, but I'm working on it! ;)

P.P.S: Prepare yourselves for a picture overload! :D

Winter Is Coming ...

It's been snowing for a couple of days now,
along with freezing temperatures.

As you may already know (or not),
I'm not a big fan of winter clothes.
Trying to use my spring / summer-clothes up 'till now,
I almost froze to death on my way to school.
(Ok, I'm exaggerating, but it was verrry cold!)

So, when I went shopping with my mom a couple of days ago,
I didn't had another choice than to buy some clothes for the coming winter.
One of my purchases was this dress with a cute print I found at New Look.

What are your winter must haves?

(Faux) Furrr...

Today I finally got the chance to wear the Chanel-flats
my sister bought me for my birthday.
Trying to avoid another total black and gold look, which you know I'm a fan of,
I decided to wear my faux fur vest again after a long time.

It's perfect for when it's not too warm or too cold outside, just like today.
Now I'm off watching my soaps: Dr. Phill, Oprah and Days Of Our Lives.
I feel like an old woman sometimes, but I can't stop watching them! :D

11/23/10

Oh, That's Why ...

As I told you in my previous post, I was waiting anxiously for the new to begin
to see some Lanvin for H&M-reports.
And I waited... And waited...
They didn't mention it once.

I thought this was kind of strange,
since they did show footage of Jimmy Choo for H&M.
I decided to Google around, hoping I would find some 'real life-footage' there.
Well, I did find some pictures and immediately understood why the news
didn't bother to report the event.

In Brussels, there were only 120 people waiting,
and in Antwerp only 100 people.
Some difference when you see the people waiting for Jimmy Choo in
the video below:

The video is in Dutch, but I think you can see it for yourself.
That's just crazy, right???

Inspiration

Excusez-moi for the lack of outfit-posts.
I've been working on my thesis most of the time
and didn't leave the house for the past two days.
I've been wearing my PJ's and believe me,
that's something you don't want to see! ;)

I hope I can take some outfit-pictures tomorrow.
Meanwhile, I'm anxiously waiting for the news to begin.
I'm dying to see the reports of Lanvin for H&M this morning!

My sister sent me this article HERE, saying that in NYC,
people have spent up to $ 3000 at H&M.
That's just crazy!

Anyway, since I don't have any outfit-pictures to show you,
I posted some pictures I thought were nice and inspiring.

Xoxo, Krizia.

Not For Me...

The whole fashion / blogger world has been enchanted by the
Lanvin and H&M-collaboration for quite some time now.
I've read dozens of blogs who wrote about Lanvin for H&M,
telling us about the pieces they really want to get their hands on, etc.
And with the collection hitting the stores very, very soon I can
almost feel the anxiety and nervousness myself.

If you're a reader / follower of my blog,
you probably already noticed that I never wrote about Lanvin for H&M,
until now.
Why?
Well, I don't know the answer myself.
I just don't see myself waiting in line, almost getting killed by hundreds of
screaming and pushing girls when the doors open, and not being sure if I'll
even get my hands on one of the pieces I wanted.
I didn't wait in line for Karl Lagerfeld for H&M, I didn't wait in line for
Viktor & Rolf for H&M, I didn't wait in line for Jimmy Choo for H&M,
and I won't be waiting in line now.

Even if you may get the impression now that I don't like the Lanvin-collection,
that's not true.
I've seen some cute shirts and dresses!

Now, I must admit I'm curious if YOU will stand in line for probably a
couple of hours.
Will you? Why (not)?
And if you will, which are the pieces you'll try to get your hands on?
Feel free to leave links of your purchases in my comment box,
I'd really like to see how you've combined them and how they look on the
'non-official' pictures.

For those who will be waiting in line:

I wish you the best of luck and I hope you'll get the pieces you wanted!

Xoxo, Krizia.

The Cape

I finally got the chance to wear the Burberry-cape my aunt gave
me for my birthday.
Since I still haven't found the perfect winter coat,
I think this cape will do just fine.

I matched it up with my mom's Burberry-bag and some leather gloves
who have the same pattern as the bag.

What do you think about the result?
Are you a fan of capes?

P.S.: Some readers asked me to do a post on my bags.
Would you be interested in it?

Have a nice weekend!

New Look Bloggers Night: The Event

So, as I already told you yesterday,
I attended the New Look Blogger Night in Brussels.

We were supposed to have a first look at the Spring / Summer 2011-collection,
but the collection didn't arrive there on time.
Because they didn't want us to come to Brussels for nothing, we got to see the collection on the laptop.

I managed to snap a couple of pictures,
so that you have an idea of what the S/S 2011-collection will be like:
a lot of colors, stripes, floppy hats, cute shorts, maxi dresses and more sophisticated looks.

Here are some of my favorite outfits.
I hope you can appreciate the post, even if I couldn't take pictures of
the collection 'in real life'.

New Look Bloggers Night: The Outfit

Hi everyone!

I'm invited to the 'New Look Bloggers Night' tonight,
which will take place in Brussels.

I'm not really sure what to expect,
but the invitation said will get information about the Spring / Summer-collection.
I love New Look, especially the shoes.
They're affordable to all of us, and they stay wearable for quite a while.
I had some black pumps who survived me going clubbing for several years. :D

Looking at the name, I think a lot of Belgian bloggers will be there.
Sofie from Fashionata already tweeted me she'll be there too.
I'm so excited!

Of course, I'll take pictures of the event, so stay tuned!

Paris: What I Bought...

Another post related to my trip to Paris.
Here are a couple of pictures, showing what I bought.

11/14/10

Me With Baptiste Giabiconi.

While I was having dinner at La Gioia in Paris last Friday,
I noticed a couple of boys entering the restaurant.
When I looked more closely,
I realized that it was no one other than Baptiste Giabiconi.

I guess no further explanation is needed when I mention his name,
but for those who don't know:
Baptiste Giabiconi is one of the world's most famous male models.
You may know him from Chanel -- Baptiste appears in every runway show
and almost every campaign.

After joking that I'd hope to bump into him in Paris two posts ago,
well, I guess my 'wish' came true.
At first, I was too scared to ask him for a picture,
but my dad literally dragged me over there and said:
"You'll probably never get a chance like this again."
And he's right, so after that I thought:
'Screw this, I'm going to ask for a picture!'

Baptiste is a very friendly and down-to-earth person, even if I met him briefly.
We took a picture, I wished him a happy birthday, and I returned to my seat.
(Baptiste turned 21 on the 9th of November, which means I'm 4 days older than him. *wink*)

So, here's the picture.
As you can see, a no-black bra + black dress + flash isn't the best combination.
I should've known better, but hey, so what? :D

P.S.: Frequent readers of my blog know that I've written about Baptiste more than once.
You can click hereherehere and here to see some of my previous posts and some
of his model work.

Paris!

Hi everyone!

I just returned from Paris, and I want to go back already.
Even if it rained all the time, and the wind almost blew me away,
Paris holds a special place in my heart.

I got the chance to visit all the places I wanted to see,
as I told you in my previous post, except for Père Lachaise.
I'll visit it the next time I'll go to Paris, for sure.

Tomorrow I'll post a picture of someone I ran into while I was having dinner last Friday.
I'm sure you fashion lovers will like the person I'm with on the picture.
Some of my readers already found out who it is, but be ready for a nice surprise tomorrow.
I know I was surprised ... ;)

P.S.: Prepare for a picture overload. I did my best to select the nicest pictures,
but there were still so many...

Paris, Here I Come!

Tomorrow I'll finally be in Paris 'till Saturday.
I've been to Paris with school in the 3rd grade once,
but we didn't see that much as I had hoped.

So, my sister and I planned our trip out a little,
and here are some of the places I really want to see.

Birthday Presents - Part 1

Hi everyone!

I wanted to share the first part of my birthday presents with you.
My dad and sister promised I could pick out some presents in Paris,
I'm so excited. :D
So you can expect some more Birthday Presents-posts later. ;)

Of course, the Hello Kitty-cupcakes my mom surprised me with.
I didn't want to eat them, because they looked so cute. :D

Birthday Party

Yesterday I celebrated my 21st birthday with my parents,
sister and brother-in-law at my aunt's restaurant.
Since I'm dreading every birthday ever since I became 18, I decided to keep it small.

I chose a powder pink and black dress to wear to my party.
What do you think of it?

When it was time for dessert, my mom told me she had a surprise for me.
She surprised me with lots of Hello Kitty-cupcakes!
Aren't they cute?
You can feel the sugar while eating them, though.
These cupcakes are stuffed with calories. :D

Dress: H&M // Shoes: NEW LOOK // Clutch: NEW LOOK

P.S. Never mind the boring hair. I had to work and I barely had time to get dressed
for my party, let alone fixing my hair. :(

I Love ... Leighton Meester for Marie Claire

I absolutely love this picture of Leighton Meester for Marie Claire.
I love the fact that it's black and white, it's simplicity, the hair, the make-up
and the subtle Chanel-tattoo.
Now that I think of it, I still have to use my tattoos.
