Personal // Highlights Of 2014

Highlights2014Collage
New Year's Eve is taking place tonight, in which we will welcome the year of 2015. I can't believe how quickly 2014 passed by. It's feels as if I'm a couple of steps behind, not fully aware of the fact that a new year is upon us. It's like Yoko Ono once said: "Time is a concept humans created" (and I couldn't agree more).

2014 has been a year of both ups and downs, both personal as blog wise. I had to fight against doubts and writer's blocks more than once, at which I would sit with my laptop on my lap and just stare blankly at the screen. But, on the other hand, I also had the chance to attend some great events, meet inspiring people, purchase some pretty items for my closet and go through some amazing experiences; things I never though would happen when I wrote my first blogpost way back in 2009.

I thought it would be fun to make a selection of my blog's highlights in 2014.
Are you curious to see which ones made the cut? Here we go!

New // Chanel Cruise '14 / '15 Sandals

ChanelCruise1415Sandals1
First of all, I'd like to apologize for going MIA for the past couple of days. I decided to take a break from my computer, so I could spend the holidays with my family and friends and enjoy it to the fullest. That being said, I wish you all a belated merry Christmas, filled with joy, happiness and all things positive. I hope you all had a wonderful time with your beloved ones.

Secondly, I'd like to show you my latest purchase: these adorable sandals from the Chanel Cruise '14 / '15 collection, which I found at the Chanel boutique in Antwerp and were a Christmas present to myself. As you may (or may not) know, winter doesn't exist in my mind, nor does it exist in my wardrobe. I can't seem to find even one single piece of winter clothing that I like, which is why I usually skip that process. Instead, I focus on spring and summer.

I can't wait to wear these beauties with a pair of shorts, dresses or a pair of skinny jeans. They also come in gold, but the color didn't really suit me well with my pale skin and all. Plus, I think the blue color is versatile enough to combine it with various items in my wardrobe.

What do you think of them?

Review // Giorgio Armani Sì Eau De Parfum Intense

GiorgioArmaniSi2
"Accomplished. Audacious. Glamorous. An empathic "yes" to these emotions, to taking chances and to having it all. Sì Eau De Parfum Intense accentuates the sensual and elegant facets of the Armani woman. The duality of extremely seductive blackcurrant neo jungle essence, with just a hint of silky freesia, and a timeless chic intense chypre accord. A fragrance of passion, softly powerful, assertive and unmistakably feminine."
Armani Beauty

After wearing Miss Dior Chérie for years, my mom literally forced me to try a new fragrance. So, after spraying and sniffing - literally - a dozen of fragrances and almost passing out, I decided to go for the Giorgio Armani Sì Eau De Parfum Intense. This perfume is a reinterpretation of the Sì perfume that launched in 2013 and is represented by actress Cate Blanchett.

I thought it would be fun to close up on my new buy and to write a review about it. Christmas is just around the corner, so it's always to get inspired for some gifts just one last time, isn't it?

Here we go!

Shark Attack Press // Various Features

FeatureIRDC5
Since I started blogging way back in 2009, I've been featured quite some times online and on paper. Some might say it is something you get used to along the way, but I would strongly disagree. Every time I see my blog or myself pop up on a website or in a magazine / newspaper, I feel extremely honored, proud of myself and my accomplishments and can't stop giggling for an entire day.

Of course, none of this would be possible if it wasn't for you: my readers who keep this me and this blog going. So this article is a nice opportunity for me to thank you all from the bottom of my heart. Thank you!

Here are my latest features, with one holding an extra special place in my heart.

Beauty // MAC 'Keepsakes' Holiday Collection

MACKeepsakes1
The holidays are rapidly approaching, which means that tons of beauty brands are launching their holiday collections. These collections are usually synonym to festive and exclusive packaging, tons of glitz and glam; kind of collector's items, really.

MAC also launched their holiday collection, which is perfect to give to any MAC-addict or just to any woman. Just like MAC says it, the collection consists of "chic, coordinated sets for eyes, lips and face in a variety of colour combinations to give you endless options." The theme of the collection is based on heirlooms and keepsakes, which - for me, personally - definitely can be seen in the packaging of the face and eye palettes. Perfect for underneath the Christmas tree!

My favorites are the Plum Eyes and Smoky Eyes Palettes, the Red Lip Bag, the Natural Face Palette, the Studio Brush Kit and both of the Viva Glam Kits. What are yours?

Random // Romantic

Romantic1
I'm off to a party tonight, so I'm leaving you with a super quick post of what I'm planning to wear. The theme is 'salsa' so I decided to go for a Spanish / southern look by wearing this red lace dress and big, golden earrings. As for the make up: I'm not so sure about the eyes. I don't have time to fix it now, so it will do. The red lips turned out perfect, though, so I'm happy about that. I'm loving the romantic vibe to this look, something I don't usually go for... My mom aka photographer was out all day, so I'm leaving you with these selfies that I took myself, hehe.

So, what do you think? Do you have anything fun planned for tonight?
Enjoy your Friday night!

Beauty // Pink & Glitter Nails

ShellackNails
I have had artificial nails for years now - even if I'm aware that it's probably not that healthy - but it's the only way I can keep my nails nice and taken care of. My mom always told me that your hands and nails are the first thing people notice, which is why they always have to be in mint condition. My nails are very fragile and my nail polish always manages to chip one way or another after wearing it for 10 minutes, so going for artificial nails was only a logical step for me.

I've been going to the same nail stylist for almost 6 years now and I've had every color imaginable by now. I just recently switched to Shellac because they say it's healthier and I'm very pleased about it. When it comes to my nails, I usually have no inspiration whatsoever, so I usually tell my nail stylist to just do her thing.

Today, she went for girly pink nails with a glitter touch. It's not something I would go for myself, but it's a nice change for once. I go there every 3 weeks and I thought it would be nice to share it with you. Who knows, maybe you could get some inspiration from it as well!

My nail stylist used CND Shellac. The glitter color is called 'Silver VIP Status' and the pink is either 'Cake Pop' or 'Blush Teddy'. I forgot to write down the names since I got this idea when I got home, but I'll be sure to write down the exact names the next time!

What do you think?

New // MacBook Pro 13" Retina

MacBookPro
For those who don't follow me on Instagram ... Meet my new love: the MacBook Pro 13" Retina. Easy to work with, in possession of all the essential plug ins such as USB (I'm still old school when it comes to plug ins), thin, light as a feather (always fun when taking your laptop with you while traveling) and a minimalistic look. As a blogger, you always have to keep various things in mind when purchasing a new tech gadget.

I share my latest purchases with my readers on a regular basis, so why not this one as well? After all, this is an extremely big (if not the biggest) part that keeps the blog going. This is whom I spend hours a day with: writing blogpost, answering emails, editing pictures, managing social media ...

My previous MacBook was purchased 5 years ago, when I just started college and about a month before I started the blog. It was a white, plastic MacBook with a rubber bottom and my companion for years. However, it started to give up on me: editing pictures, watching YouTube-clips and editing my own ... It literally took me all day to create a new post. I also celebrated my 25th birthday not too long ago, so I asked my family and friends for money as a gift (golddigger much?). I picked up my silver baby today and this is the first post that I'm writing from my new laptop. Pure heaven, let me tell you. No more panic attacks or the urge to throw my laptop out of the window.

I'm one happy woman now!

P.S.: This picture is taken with my iPhone, since my cousin borrowed my camera for a big art project she's working on. I'm not sure why I'm sharing this with you; I guess it's one of those "Just so you know" situations.

Inspiration // Black

Tumblr0
Whenever I get interviewed, I always get asked where I get my inspiration from. So I thought it would be fun to show my favorite pictures with you on a regular basis. As you will notice from the pictures in this post, I get my inspiration from literally everything: outfits, quotes, nature, animals, architecture ...

First theme? Black. If you follow my blog, you know that I'm a big fan of black; something some might find depressing, will get you called a goth or might land you in prison (just Google 'West Memphis 3'). To me, one can rarely go wrong with (all) black and I hope the non-believers will believe after seeing this post. It's usually all about the details or certain accessories.

All pictures are from my personal Tumblr-page. I'm always on the search for new inspiring pages, so if you have a Tumblr-page as well, drop it in the comment box below!

Time to get inspired.

P.S.: It's a lot ...

Outfit // Wang

AlexanderWangxHM2

As you might have seen on my Instagram, I attended the Alexander Wang x H&M presale event in Antwerp yesterday. Not really knowing what to expect, I thought I would be able to take a look at the collection at ease, casually trying on my favorite pieces ... Boy, was I wrong! I suddenly found myself in line together with hundreds of other people: press, bloggers, celebrities, boys and girls who won various contests to win a ticket to the event ... It was MADNESS. Plus, I was wearing a faux fur leopard printed coat, skinny leather trousers and my Isabel Marant sneakers (trip alert!) -- not the best outfit for a night of pushing, shoving, running ...

Anyway, it was madness, but it was fun though! My partner in crime Michel was right by my side, I spotted some of my blogger besties here and there, Ouni killed it behind the DJ booth with an amazing RnB / rap / hip hop set and the H&M staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

Even though I wasn't convinced of the collection at first, it quickly changed when I tried on the pieces I managed to get my hands on. I first tried on the baggy leather pants, but they weren't for me; which is probably for the best, since they came with a € 250 price tag. Next up were the grey leggings and sports bra Rihanna was spotted wearing way before the collection hit the stores and even though I never thought I would: I loved them! I can even go to the gym in style now. Michel was Whatsapping pictures to my mom and she texted that they were cool and I should get them, but that I would have to go to the gym at least 3 times a week from now on. Sounds fair enough. There's also a super tight dress in the same print as the leggings and the sports bra, which I also took home with me.

And last but not least, Michel managed to get me the sweater I'm wearing in this outfit post: aren't the cut out / transparent details to die for? I'm so happy that I got it -- thanks, M.! I almost froze to death while taking these pictures yesterday, but I couldn't wait to show you how it looked.

What do you think?
Did you manage to get what you wanted from the collection?

Beauty // Christian Louboutin 'Rouge Louboutin' Nail Polish

ChristianLouboutinNailpolish13
I'm still not feeling too well and since tomorrow is my birthday, I decided to spend the day in my PJ's, trying to make sure that I'm as rested and relaxed as I can be. I'm off to Antwerp tomorrow, visiting some press agencies and attending the Alexander Wang x H&M presale event in the evening, so every bit of energy will be needed. Celebrating with Alexander Wang and H&M makes turning 25 (as in a quarter of a century) more bearable. Since my PJ's and exhausted face aren't really suitable for an outfit shoot, I do have to keep the blog updated. So here I am with another beauty post!

I present to you the Rouge Louboutin nail polish by Christian Louboutin (obviously). Ever since shoe designer and fashion icon Christian Louboutin launched his very own nail polish line, I knew that his iconic red color would be the only one to catch my attention. You all know how I can go crazy about a stunning red lipstick and the same goes for red nail polish. To me, red is a symbol for love, passion and femininity and is a color that can make an incredible statement -- something Christian Louboutin understands 100 %.

When my mom told me that she spotted the Louboutin nail polishes at the A Propos store in Düsseldorf, I literally obliged her to get the color Rouge Louboutin for me -- poor thing. We visit Düsseldorf on a regular basis and A Propos is always our very first stop: it's an amazing concept store which sells the best designer items, make up, fashion and interior books ... Just a little tip if you're ever planning to visit the city.

Beauty // MAC x Nasty Gal & MAC Viva Glam x Miley Cyrus

CollageMACVivaGlamNastyGal
Sorry for going MIA for the past few days, but I've come down with the worst cold and cough known to mankind which has been consuming all of my energy. After spending too much time laying on the couch with a mug of green tea in one hand and a box of tissues in the other hand, my fingers began to itch and I knew it was time to get back to work for the blog again. And I'm doing it with some exciting news from MAC!

MAC has been killing it with their collaborations; I'm still waiting for a MAC x Kylie Jenner collab though. I can't die peacefully if I don't know which lipstick and / or lip liner she's using. And they announced two more! One with the edgy fashion brand Nasty Gal and one with Miley Cyrus for Viva Glam.

Excited much?

Beauty // Nivea Winter Essentials

Nivea1
I know, I know. It's still fall, but we can never be too prepared for the winter times that will fall upon us (sooner than we think). Blizzards, ice cold wind, snow ... The weather conditions during winter affect our bodies hard time; just think dry hands and busted lips, to name a few.

Nivea knows, so they decided to create a winter survival kit focusing on the skin, lips and hair. One of these kits were delivered at the Shark Attack office (which is actually still my kitchen table / couch, but it just sounds so fancy) and I couldn't be happier. My skin has been a mess as long as I can remember and it's extremely sensitive, so I have to take extra good care of it.

I'm planning on testing these products when winter is doing its thing on full force (obvioiusly), but I thought it would be fun to already show you which products are recommended by Nivea. And who knows, maybe you'll find something interesting to try out yourself. What's your beauty routine during winter? I'd love to hear your tips.

Fashion News // Alexander Wang For H&M Women's Lookbook

AlexanderWangHMCollage
There have been a lot of little peeks and previews, but the long awaited lookbook from Alexander Wang for H&M is finally here! The collection is just what we're used to of Mr. Wang: lots of neutral colors (black, grey and a touch of white here and there), clean silhouettes and a sporty chic vibe.

Even though the collection isn't my thing completely, I did see some items that I like; the dress on the right in the picture above, the baggy leather pants and the black peeptoe ankle boots. The collection is set to launch on 6 november. I was lucky enough to be invited to the presale event the day before, which is also my birthday, yay! So, I'm hoping to get my hands on at least one of the items on my wishlist -- now all I have to do is wait for H&M to announce the pricetags of the items.

What do you think about Alexander Wang for H&M? Will you be waiting in line?

Outfit // Transition

Transition10
We used to have some type of Indian summer in Belgium, but it looks like fall is claming territory more and more for the past couple of days. This transition is making me kinda moody, tired, restless and so on; it's always a period that I go through during this time of the year. Anyone else who's experiencing the same thing?

The same transition has been noticeable in my closet: I've - slowly, but surely -  been collecting new items which are suitable for fall and winter. This knitted vest is one of them and I've been living it it for the past two weeks. It's just so warm and cozy, I love it. Fall and winter clothes never used to be my thing; they always made me feel trapped and claustrophobic in a way. But lately, I've been seeing some items that I like here and there so who knows...

On my lips is MAC's Heroine, which I thought was perfect to complete this look. I hope I don't look too goth now -- even though I used to have such a phase in highschool, hehe.

Review // MAC The Matte Lip 'Damn Glamorous' & 'Trust In Red'

MACDamnGlamorous2
Yes, another red lipstick to review. Oh, and it's matte - again. Those who know me know that I can't go without popping matte lips, preferably red. So when I found out that MAC was launching a limited edition collection of matte lipsticks - aka The Matte Lip - and that there was a gorgeous red color among them, I caved and bought it.

The lipstick is called Damn Glamorous (what's in a name?) and is described by MAC as a "bright pink red" color. I also purchased the matching lip pencil, which is called Trust In Red. I always get both lipsticks and lip pencils: when applying my lipstick, I start by contouring and 'coloring' my lips with the lip pencil first and then apply the lipstick over it. It will last all day long, I promise you.

Curious to if Damn Glamorous really is that damn glamorous?

New // Sam Edelman 'Chester' Boots

SamEdelmanChester1
Remember when I went to the Sam Edelman event in Antwerp a while ago? I had the amazing opportunity to meet the designer himself - such a charming fella - and was also told that I could pick a pair from the Fall / Winter 2014 collection afterwards. So, not too long ago, I went to the Gimpex showroom to pick out my favorite pair and then had to wait until they arrived in my size.

I received an email from the ever so sweet ladies at UPR that my shoes finally arrived at their agency and, if you follow me on Instagram, you know that I went to pick them up yesterday. Tadaaa! I decided to go for the Chester boots. Black ankle boots, part leather / part suède, a thick golden chain on the back (a trend I already wrote about here); I absolutely love them. I have slowly been updating my closet, making it fall and winter proof, and these booties are a perfect addition.

What do you think about them?

Fashion News // Hermès Vintage Auction And Exhibition @ Cornette De Saint Cyr In Brussels

HermèsKelly
Hermès Kelly Bag; Crocodilus Porosus Bordeaux; 33 cm
Estimated: € 11.000 - € 12.000

Hermès / Vintage / Fashion lovers rejoice! Some awesome fashion news has just landed in my inbox: auction house Cornette De Saint Cyr in Brussels will be hosting the first auction of vintage Hermès goodies in Belgian history. About 350 stunning pieces will be auctioned; just think Carré scarfs, prêt-à-porter for both men and women, watches, jewelry, silver / crystal tablewear and china ... and some stunning Birkin, Kelly and Constance bags of course. The prices are estimated between € 60 and € 30.000.

Unfortunately, I have to work the day that the auction takes place. I would have loved to see a live auction for once. Will there be people on the phone, bidding for some insanely rich, anonymous buyer? Does the host really babble ridiculously fast when searching for bidders? Hell, I got an entire movie scene in mind.

If Birkin bags and Clic-Clac H bracelets are way above your budget, but you'd love to see what the auction has to offer, there's also an Hermès exhibition for you to visit. All of the pieces will be displayed for the public to view and admire.

>> Dates & Hours:

Hermès Vintage Exposition
16 - 18 October from 10h00 'till  18h00
19 October from 11h00 'till 13h00

Hermès Vintage Auction
19 October at 15h00

>> Location:

Cornette De Saint Cyr
Chaussée de Charleroi 89
1060 Brussels

More info on the Cornette De Saint Cyr website.

If you click below, you will have a teeny tiny preview of a handfull of goodies that will be auction. Just a few of them, I didn't want to ruin all the fun.

Outfit // Blues

OutfitBlues13
October has finally arrived! I absolutely love this month, especially when it comes to Halloween preparations. I think I'm going to dress up as Eric Draven from The Crow this year. The movie is one of my favorites and the mystery surrounding Brandon Lee's death while filming it makes me love it even more. Leave out the baby blue faux fur coat in this outfit and I already have my costume - not sure if that's a good or a bad thing. Who / What will you be for Halloween?

The zipped leather pants and I were just meant to be; I fell in love head over heels when I spotted them at Zara last month. And the jacket reminded me of Sulley from Monsters, Inc., which was reason enough for me to add it to my closet as well.

Give Away // The Simpsons & MAC "Marge's Extra Ingredients Quad"

MargeSimpsonXMac1
Hey everyone!

Here we are with an exciting give away again! Shark Attack - Fashion Blog is giving one of you the chance to win the Marge's Extra Ingredients Quad from the highly anticipated The Simpsons & MAC collection. The quad contains four gorgeous colors, from a bright baby pink to a darker blue.

I had the opportunity to attend the launch of the The Simpsons & MAC collection at the MAC store in Antwerp (read the report HERE) and got myself some goodies, such as a blush, one of the lipglosses and the eye quad pictured above. I'm sure that most of you are wondering why I'm giving it away after buying it, so here we go:

When I saw the first press releases, I immediately fell in love with the Marge's Extra Ingredient Quad. So, at the event, I just had to get my hands on it. As soon as they told us that the collection was available for sale, I rushed to one of the saleswomen and told them that I wanted the quad. I was afraid that it would be sold out in a heartbeat, which is why I didn't take the time to take a proper look at it.

For the past couple of days, I've been wanting to create a look with the eye quad. But, after having the chance to look at it decently, I came to the conclusion that the colors just aren't exactly my thing, especially the blue one. Don't get me wrong, I think this is a gorgeous quad, but I have the feeling that (except for the bright pink) the colors would look better on someone else. It's just a shame to leave this quad hidden in a drawer somewhere, only taking it out to use one single color from time to time. And, since I know that not all of you had the chance to purchase something from the collection AND since my blog will turn 5 years old in October, I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to celebrate this special birthday as a gesture of my appreciation.

So, that's the story behind it. I still have a blush and a lipgloss from the The Simpsons & MAC collection (which are both approved 100%, lol), so it's OK. I do want to make clear that I purchased this quad myself (so it is not a press sample) and that I never used it (not even for swatches). It really is brand new.

Enough with the babbling! Here's what you have to do to win:

* Follow my blog on Bloglovin'.
* Like Shark Attack - Fashion Blog on Facebook.
* Leave a comment with your name and email address
>> Please make sure that the name you put in the comment box matches with your Facebook-name, so that I can check.

For an extra entry:

* Follow me on Instagram.
>> If you did, also leave your username in the comment, so that I can check.

The give away is open worldwide and will end on Thursday, 25 September 2014. I will announce the winner on my Facebook-page.

Good luck!

Event // Cartier 'Hommage Aux Icônes'

EventCartier37
Cartier has always been a brand that represented mystery, luxury and the finest form of craftsmanship to me. I first got acquainted with the brand when I was studying the life of the late Grace Kelly for a history assignment, whom was a loyal fan of the jewelry house and wore their pieces on multiple occasions. The second time that the house of Cartier caught my attention was when they published their iconic advertisements, using baby panthers instead of models. I love cats; they're mysterious, agressive yet graceful and I've owned them my entire life. And recently, Erin Wasson, one of my favorite models, became the face of the Cartier La Panthère fragrance campaign.

Whenever my parents, sister and I would cross a Cartier window, we would stop and stare at all the beautiful jewels displayed. Each of us would point out and discuss their favorite pieces and every time we would take off again, I would walk around in a daze for just a little bit longer, dreaming of all the beauty I just witnessed. In a way, Cartier always seemed like something unreachable.

So when I received an invitation from the Cartier store in Brussels, asking me if I would like to discover pieces of some of their most iconic collections, I was over the moon -- literally. When I arrived at the store, I got the warmest welcome and was told that we were allowed to touch, photograph and try on everything we wanted. Talk about a dream come true!

It took me forever to edit these pictures and to prepare this post, but I'm so excited to share them with you. Be prepared for a jaw dropping, Cartier overdose!

P.S.: Be sure to keep on reading, because I saved the best for last.

Event // The Simpsons & MAC

TheSimpsonsMAC3
Yesterday, I was invited to discover the highly anticipated collaboration between Marge Simpson and MAC at the renewed store in Antwerp. I decided to be there super early so that I could get my hands on my favorite goodies from the collection.

If you visit my blog on a regular basis, I don't think that it's a secret that I'm a big fan of The Simpsons; just click here and here to find out what I'm talking about. So can you imagine my excitement when I discovered that Marge Simpson was there to personally introduce her collection? Just add drinks, bites (DONUTS!) and fun people all together and you know that it is set to be a fun night.

I will show you my purchases from the The Simpsons X MAC-collection in a future post, in which I will talk to you in detail about them -- swatches and all. But for now, I'm going to leave you with some pictures I shot at the event. I hope you like them!

I would like to thank Melanie and MAC for the invite, I had a blast!

Beauty // Nivea Creme Care Line

NiveCremeCare1
Nivea lovers rejoice! Aren't we all familiar with their world famous round, blue tin? The blue tinned cream has been around since 1925, so I'm guessing we all had it around the house at one point. My earliest memory about it dates back to when I was little and my grandmother was still alive. She used to keep the cream on a shelf on her beauty table and would apply it to the dry spots on her skin or to keep her hands moisturized. Whenever she would hug me - which happened on a daily basis - I would smell that famous Nivea scent and it's still one of my favorites 'till this day. It brings back so many memories.

Now, Nivea knows they have a top product in their possession and decided to take it to the next level: they created a new line called 'Creme Care' - consisting of a Bath Creme, Shower Cream and Cream Handwash - and incorporated that famous cream scent into the products. With ingredients such as Eucerit, Provitamin B5 and Hydra IQ, Nivea focuses on some key elements of the skin: the care, recovery, elasticity, protection and hydratation (to name a few).

If you follow me on Instagram (@Krizia_S), you probably will have seen that Uzuma asked me to try out their green juices. One juice is the same as about one kilo of fruit and vegetables and thanks to a special bottling process, they can prolong the expiration date without affecting the juice. All of the information is on their website, so I'm not going to bother you with technical details, but I thought it would be fun to film some parts of the challenge.

Enjoy!

Outfit // Foulard

SharkAttackFashionBlogFoulard10
Some quick shots of what I wore for meeting up with my friends to do some drinks. I ordered this foulard / scarf / whatever you want to call it on Asos a while ago and never got around to wear it; until now. My friends compared me to a dog, a farmer AND asked me if I had a hickey that I wanted to hide, but I think it adds a little extra touch to the look, don't you? The Balmain-shirt is a recent purchase and even though I usually don't like big logos on my clothes, I think this one's cute. It has some cool details on the shoulder, which I forgot to photograph. Oopsie.

Before I forget: I'm sorry for not looking into the camera very often in these photos. If you don't pose right while wearing this scarf (a.k.a. looking straight into the camera), there will be some major double chin alert. Or maybe I just have one, that's possible too.

While visiting my favorite shoe stores and websites, I noticed that a lot of them have one thing in common: a thick, heavy chain on the front or on the back. I thought it would be fun to put some of my favorites in one collage. Last week, I had the chance to pick out a pair of Sam Edelman shoes and I went for the black booties in the middle in the bottom row: suède, leather and a gold chain on the back. I'm totally in love with them and I can't wait for them to arrive!

Review // Dior Addict It-Line Eyeliner '879 It-Pink'

DiorAddictLiner8791
I love myself some eyeliner, especially when I go out. So when I saw the campaign pictures of the new Dior Addict It-Line Eyeliner in pink, I just knew I had to get my hands on one. I acutally got my hands on the last one at the Inno-store in Antwerp, so I'm just going to consider that as a sign.

What does it promise to do?

Fashion eyes: fabulous line vibrant color.
Easy, intuitive and addictive application. Get a bold, even and versatile line in one simple stroke for intense "doe-eyed" effect. Quick-drying. Rinsable: easy to remove with warm water or make up remover.

Of course, I couldn't go on using this eyeliner without writing a review about it. Curious to find out my opinion about it and to see the look I created with it? Just click, click, click below!

Outfit // Homer Simpson

HomerSimpson11
After featuring his son Bart on my blog here and his wife Marge here, it's now up to another member of the Simpson family to make his debut on Shark Attack - Fashion Blog. This gloomy day (summer's over in Belgium, let me tell you) was made all better when I received this Eleven Paris X Colette shirt in my mailbox. You see, in honor of The Simpsons' 25th anniversary, the Parisian brand and iconic Parisian concept store teamed up to create a line of exclusive T-shirts starring the world famous family. I received one of Eleven Paris' super dope backnumber shirts: Homer 89. The Simpsons' first episode aired in 1989 and it's also my birth year, which makes it all extra cool. Plus, Homer is also one of my favorite ancient Greek poets and authors (the Iliad and Odyssey, anyone?).

The frosted quote on Homer's donut - "Can't talk. Eating." - could easily pass as mine and so I decided to match my lipstick to the pink frosting. I wouldn't be me if I didn't add leather and spikes and so I did. I love the contrast between the cute shirt and the rock 'n roll vibe in the rest of the outfit.

This surprise brightened this depressing day to the max, so thank you Listen Up PR (and especially Chloé) for this extremely kind gesture.

Review // Kelly & Sharon Osbourne For MAC Limited Edition Collection

KellySharonOsbourneMAC5
I've been waiting patiently for the Kelly & Sharon Osbourne For MAC Limited Edition Collection to hit stores, but of course, I had to work on the day the collection was set to be released. After hitting the web and reading that the products were sold out, I had pretty much given up hope on ever getting my hands on even one of them.

And then, after stopping at the MAC-store at De Bijenkorf in Maastricht a couple of days ago (as I always do), the gods showed me some mercy. There were still quite some products available and I decided to take home Kelly's eye shadow palette and Sharon's patentpolish pencil a.k.a. lip pencil / lip gloss. I had hoped to get my hands on Kelly's lilac lipstick as well, but hey, I can't and won't complain.

Outfit // Royal

Royal17
I've been loving history as long as I can remember; it was my favorite class in high school and I finished my bachelor in history and English. Ancient Egypt has always caught my curiousity and triggered me to read and learn about it. We know so much, yet so little about it.

I remember that in high school, my class had to pick an historic figure and give a speech about it. My choice was Tutankhamun, or also known as King Tut. This young pharaoh ruled during the 18th dynasty and even though he didn't accomplish anything admirable during his reign, we all know him. Howard Carter discovered the tomb of Tutankhamun in the Valley Of The Kings on 4 November 1922; one day before my birthday. Coincidence? I think not. Sorry, I can be very obsessive when it comes to Ancient Egypt. Anyway, he did not only discover King Tut's mummified body, but also a huge treasure that was scattered all over the tomb. The most valuable and well known item that was found that day, is Tut's solid gold burial mask. It was always a dream of mine to discover a pharaoh's tomb that has been left untouched - since most of them have been raided by thieves - but I think it's safe to say that it ain't gonna happen any time soon (or ever, for that matter). I could go on about this topic for days, but at least now you know why I'm such a huge history lover.

Anyway, back to my high school days. I gave my speech about Tutankhamun and got an A+. The teacher even forgave me for talking about Howard Hughes instead of Howard Carter. I had seen the movie 'The Aviator' just the day before - they were playing it on TV - and he had seen it too, so he understood the mix up and was quite amused about it.

When Fusion Clothing gave me the opportunity to choose one of their sweaters, I immediately clicked the King Tut sweater home. I just L-O-V-E it. I love how bold and eye catching the sweater is. You really don't need more to pimp out your outfit to the max. Even though we are experiencing tropical temperatures here in Belgium the last couple of days, I still found a way to make the sweater work: tank top, denim short and my beloved sweater tied around my waist.

What do you think?

Give Away // Neckermann-Cadeaubon T.W.V. € 150

NeckermannSharkAttack
*This give away is only for my Dutch readers. Don't worry, there will be more (international) fun in the future! #Wink*

Beauty // MAC X Marge Collection To Launch This Fall

TheSimpsonsxMAC
Move over, Lorde! Back in May, MAC already announced a limited edition collaboration with the only woman who can pull off yellow skin and blue hair: Marge Simpson. Giving us nothing but a small teaser back then, MAC has now released a first official image of some of the products. The collection is said to consist out of about 10 products, among which are eyeshadow palettes, lip glosses (neon yellow and bright blue / purple, as rumor has it), blushes, false eyelashes and nail stickers. With this collab, MAC is paying the perfect tribute to The Simpsons' 25th anniversary:

"On the occasion of their 25th anniversary, MAC celebrates everyone’s favorite animated family, The Simpsons, with a vivacious color collection that can only be described in one word: Eeeeexcellent. Debuts this fall."

I already spoke out about my love for The Simpsons here and the fact that the products are said to be given names such as 'Nacho Cheese Explosion', 'Itchy & Scratchy & Sexy' and 'Beehive Blue' makes me want to have them even more. The packaging is all about Marge and judging by the picture above, she sure knows how to give her best smizing bitchface. Tyra would be proud!

The MAC X Marge collection will first be available on 26 July, during San Diego's Comic-Con. The attendees will have access to the MAC Cosmetics store at the Gaslamp District during a one-day sale. Others, like myself, will have to wait until 28 August when the collection will be sold online or until 4 September when the collection will hit the stores.

I know I will definitely try to get my hands on some goodies.
Will you?

Trend // Jelly Beach Sandals

JellySandals1
KARTELL // UNKNOWN // SEE BY CHLOE

What is it with 'ugly' shoes becoming the it-item out of nowhere? You're now a fashion outsider if you don't own a pair of Birkenstocks (you can ban me to the deepest pits of hell, but you'll never see me wearing them), the Adidas slippers and white socks combo is no longer a taboo (read all about it here) and it looks like the (in)famous jelly beach sandals are making a comeback again too!

We all know them and we all had them: jelly sandals that our parents got us whenever they planned a trip to the seaside. They were - or still are - perfect to walk over that damn hot sand like a boss and protected your feet of everything sharp or icky laying on the bottom of the ocean; I'm taking sea shells and sea weed. And the best part? They came in every color possible, making sure you could find a pair that matched your bathing suit perfectly. Aaah, so many memories.

I've been a fan of jelly sandals since forever. I got the flashy, almost blinding, pink jelly sandals by See By Chloé four years ago (see here) and a second pair by Kartell followed quickly (see here). But the original, iconic jelly beach sandal has been present my whole life: my parents got me a baby yellow pair to walk the beaches of Italy as a little kid, I then got the see through pair in the middle during my stay in Sicily due to rocky beaches that hurt like a motherf*cker and also wore that very pair to several festivals. They survive every weather condition, believe me. If they're dirty, just take a water hose, spray some water over them and they're as good as new. Oh, and they're super cheap.

That being said, I know that you'll either love this trend with all your heart, or hate it with every bone in your body. I think the jellies are cute, easy, fun and also think that they add a dose of cuteness and innocence to every look. I've collected some pictures for you to get some inspiration and will also tell you where you can shop them.

What do you think? I can't wait to here your thoughts on this one!

Review // M.A.C. 'In Extreme Dimension Lash' Mascara

MACInExtremeDimensionLash3
Time to review a new product! In yesterday's post, you could read that I attended the opening of the new M.A.C.-store in Leuven. I received their 'In Extreme Dimension Lash' as a gift and couldn't wait to try it. I don't have one favorite mascara that I tend to stick to; I love to experiment and try out different ones.

M.A.C. is one of my favorite make up brands when it comes to lipsticks and concealers, but I never tried one of their mascaras before. Needless to say that I was super excited when I was gifted this one.

So, what does the 'In Extreme Dimension Lash' mascara promise to do?

"M.A.C.'s lightweight whipped formula saturates lashes root to tip, adds volume, extends length and creates curl, while conditioning for softness and flexibility. The final result: extreme dimension that won't smudge, clump or flake."

You can find the M.A.C. 'In Extreme Dimension Lash' mascara on the M.A.C. website or at the M.A.C counters and stores for € 22 / $ 21

If you want to find out if this mascara lived up to its expectations, click below!

Event // Opening M.A.C. Leuven

MACLeuven12
Whenever you get an email with the words 'M.A.C.' and 'invitation' in its subject, you know you just gotta hit that RSVP button. And so I did when I got invited to the opening of the new M.A.C.-store in Leuven. The new store has a fresh and funky vibe to it and even though it isn't the biggest store and it isn't a M.A.C. Pro-store either, you'll still find everything you need right here.

There was tons of make up, music, drinks and even a writing wall -- and I had the honor to be the first one to write on it! #SharkAttackLovesMAC
I also was kindly invited to get my make up done and I really just enjoyed everything about this event. The relaxed atmosphere, the new people I met and the old friends I got to see again... M.A.C. just can't do anything wrong for me. For the moment, I'm using their highlighter, concealer and lipsticks -- I'm already dreading the day that my 'Riri Woo' lipstick will finish; thank God there's 'Ruby Woo' as well.

Anyway, they say that a picture says more than a thousand words, so here are a dozen of them after the jump; just so you can see what I'm talking about, you know?
