Personal // Redecorating My Bedside Table

Interior8
Hey guys! I have some news... I bought a house! Yes, I'm definitely growing up now. The house belonged to my grandparents and after they both passed away, we had to decide what to do with it. We quickly came to the conclusion that we didn't want any strangers living in the house my mother aunt, sister and I grew up in, so my sister and I decided to buy it. It feels kinda scary, since it is a very big step, but I'm so glad that we did it.

Everything that belonged to my grandparents is still in there and when we were cleaning up, I found a couple of silver trays. My mom wanted to throw them away, but I thought it would be perfect to display all of the jewelry that I wear the most. I love mixing the old with the new and even if it is 'just' a tray, it belonged to my grandmother, so it's nice to keep it around. One thing led to another and suddenly, I found myself redecorating my entire bedside table.

My bedside table used to be stacked with little statues from Disneyland (Tinkerbell, the Little Mermaid), trolls (don't ask) and jewelry boxes that are too small to actually put some jewelry in. I gave them all a new home across my room and decided that, next to my jewelry, I wanted my daily make up on there as well. And voilĂ , you can see the result above and below.

What do you think about it?

Tips & Tricks // Stylish At The Office + Zara Give Away

Source: cdn.inthegame.nl

Having a job interview or starting a new job at the office soon? We all know how dreadful job interviews can be and while some might not know it... Don't underestimate the importance and / or impact of the outfit you're wearing to your job (interview). Remember: first impressions can make or break you and you'll never get a second chance to change the first thing that popped up into someone's mind when saw you for the first time.

To help you out, Shark Attack teamed up with Monster Belgium a.k.a. Belgium's number one recruiting network. We thought it would be nice to share some tips with my readers. What to wear during a jobinterview, a day at the office ...?
Here are some tips to get you started:

* Corporate Chameleon

If possible, try to find out as much as you can on the company's dress code policies. This will give you the chance to adapt your outfit to the company, which will give them the impression you belong there right away. If you're having a job interview at VOGUE, it's natural that you can spice up your outfit just that little bit more than when you're having a meeting at a lawyer's office.

* When In Doubt, Go For Professional

Looking like a pro will hardly give you a bad score, even if the company's environment is more casual.

* Be Comfortable

Not totally feeling your outfit? Don't wear it! People will notice and you will miss your opportunity to shine and look confident. Confidence is the key, ladies and gents!

* The Center Of Attention ...

... is you! So, try to avoid over-the-top prints, make up and bling bling jewelry. They will derive the attention from your personality and what you have to say.

* Make It Your Own

Looking professional does not mean that you have to look completely boring. It's okay to give your look a personal touch, just don't take it to extreme levels.

I hope that the tips above were somewhat useful!

Wanted // Dip & Dye

Photobucket
I've always been a fan of Lauren Conrad, from watching her star in Laguna Beach and The Hills, to reading her books and Googling her on a regular basis. I used to dream about having a life like hers on The Hills and to drool on her outfits, which to me, always looked perfect. Now that I'm older, I'm not that obsessed about her anymore, but I'm still a fan.

I was surprised to see this picture of Lauren, having the ends of her hair dip dyed in various colors. I love to see her taking a break from her 'American Sweetheart'-image. When I was younger, I dyed my hair black, black AND white, pink, red, orange (big mistake) and I also used to have various pieces of colored fake hair that I used to wear all together. Yes, I've had my share of colored hair. :D
I like this do a lot and would try it out immediately if I had a celebrity hair dresser, since I'm a bit scared of looking like a total clown / wrong punk chick with the hair dressers around here.

What do you think about this do? Hit or miss?

Shark Attack Loves... // Moschino Jacket

... This ridicously gorgeous Moschino-jacket, seen during the Moschino F/W 2009 RTW fashion show. I love the details on the jacket, but I think it is a delicate jacket to wear - I would be so afraid that something happened to it! I would still like to have it, though. *wink*

Lauren Conrad is wearing it too, but as for her, I just want her entire wardrobe.
I absolutely love her style!
