Outfit // Take Two

 photo DSC03444_zpsf7f9e572.jpg
Take one: wearing this shirt with no belt, with a pair of black skinny jeans and my grey Isabel Marant sneakers.
Take two: enter belt and boot, exit Isabel Marant sneakers (I still love you, babies).

That moment when you're wearing an outfit you think looks fabulous on you, decide to shoot it, look at the pictures and think: "Dude, WTF happened?" That's exactly what happened when I was wearing the first outfit. Such a bummer though, because I shot that particular outfit during a shopping trip to Maastricht, meaning that I finally switched locations and therefore had a different, non-bricked background for a change. #FirstClassProblems

As for the hair... I wanted to go back to blonde and I don't know what the hell that hairdresser was sniffing on, but it turned out this ginger / copper / I don't know-kinda color. Not exactly what I signed up for, but hey, it's just hair. Cut it off, it'll grow back. Dye it and don't like it, just dye it again.

And as for the lipstick: probably my new favorite. It's called 'Flat Out Fabulous' and it's by MAC. Plus, it's not red! *Shocker* But it's a nice change and it's matte -- I love matte lipstick.

Literature // The House Of Gucci

A late Christmas gift arrived on my doorstep a couple of days ago. My sister ordered me the book 'The House Of Gucci:
A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness and Greed' by Sara Gay Forden on Amazon.com.

Obviously, the book talks about the Gucci-family and empire, but also focuses on the murder of Maurizio Gucci, who was murdered by his wife Patrizia Reggiani. My history with the Gucci-tales goes way back, since a cousin of my grandmother used to work for Maurizio and Patrizia -- She was a cleaning lady at their home in Milan.

Reggiani got a sentence of 29 years - later reduced to 26 - and was recently given the chance to get released early. Her response?

"Being released from jail would mean that I would have to work. I haven't worked a day in my life and I'm not planning to either. So I'm staying right here."

Can you believe it?

I can't wait to read this book, which will be after I finish my exams.
Has any of you read it? What did you think about it?

x Krizia

Outfit // Faux Fur & Leather

Photobucket
You might notice something different ... I'm wearing glasses from now on - orders of the eye specialist. I've been wearing glasses ever since I was 7 years old, but I switched to contacts as soon as I was allowed to. Well, that wasn't such a great idea ... My eyes are damaged of wearing contacts non stop, so I have to wear glasses for 6 months straight. My eyesight is really bad (I have - 11 on both eyes now), so the lenses of my glasses are really thick. Just so you know, in case you were wondering why my glasses are deforming my eyes / head. I know that almost everyone is wearing these type of glasses now, but because of the thick lenses, I had no other option. What do you think?

As for the outfit, I opted for faux leather pants, a faux leather jacket and a faux fur vest. I'm also wearing knee high leather boots and I like the fact that they kinda blend in with the pants, making them almost invisible. Temperatures are staring to go down at a high speed now, but as long it isn't snowing, I won't complain too much. My dad bought me this bag when we were on a holiday in Sicily three years ago. The bag's shape is totally ruined (which is my own fault), but I still love it.

Outfit // The Doors

Photobucket
For today's outfit I got inspired by one of my all time favorite bands: The Doors. Their lead singer, Jim Morrison, used to wear these type of outfits all the time, meaning leather pants, leather boots, chunky belts, a white or black shirt and a leather jacket.

I can still remember the first time I heard a song of The Doors. I think I must have been 14 or 15 years old and I was watching a movie called 'The Lost Boys'. In the movie, they play The Doors' song called 'People Are Strange' during one of the scenes. There was something about Morrison's voice that got me completely hooked and I still am today.

Last spring, I finally got to visit Jim Morrison's final resting place. He's buried in the Père Lachaise-cemetary in Paris. I had been waiting for this opportunity for years and I found it so strange how I could feel so sad about a person I'd never even met or known in my life. I guess it shows how much music can affect us. I've put one of my favorite songs in the end of the post, called 'The End'. This music might  not be everyone's cup of tea, but I still wanted to share it with you, since music is a big part of my life too.

Outfit: 12/02/2011

Hi everyone!

Here's a quick post of yesterdays outfit. The sun was shining,
so my mom and I decided to go out shopping -- Didn't find
anything, though.

I decided to go for the 'chic-meets-rock' look, finally wearing
my favorite leather jacket again.
I'm a big fan of leather jackets combined with dresses.
What about you?

x Krizia

P.S.: As you may notice, I have the habit to twirl my hair when
I'm taking outfit pictures. ;)

(Faux) Furrr...

Today I finally got the chance to wear the Chanel-flats
my sister bought me for my birthday.
Trying to avoid another total black and gold look, which you know I'm a fan of,
I decided to wear my faux fur vest again after a long time.

It's perfect for when it's not too warm or too cold outside, just like today.
Now I'm off watching my soaps: Dr. Phill, Oprah and Days Of Our Lives.
I feel like an old woman sometimes, but I can't stop watching them! :D

Xoxo, Krizia.

New Look Bloggers Night: The Outfit

Hi everyone!

I'm invited to the 'New Look Bloggers Night' tonight,
which will take place in Brussels.

I'm not really sure what to expect,
but the invitation said will get information about the Spring / Summer-collection.
I love New Look, especially the shoes.
They're affordable to all of us, and they stay wearable for quite a while.
I had some black pumps who survived me going clubbing for several years. :D

Looking at the name, I think a lot of Belgian bloggers will be there.
Sofie from Fashionata already tweeted me she'll be there too.
I'm so excited!

Of course, I'll take pictures of the event, so stay tuned!

Important Day

Hi everyone!

First of all, I would like to apologize for the lack of posts.
I've been working a lot lately,
and it is hard sometimes to find a balance between work, friends / family and blogging.

Today, my sister will graduate from university.
I'm so proud of her! =)
We will go to her school in a couple of hours, they're holding a small 'graduation-party' there.

Of course, things are a bit hectic around here - everyone is running around getting ready.
I found the time to take some snaps of my outfit, though.
(Does it show that I'm a big fan of black and gold-outfits?)
It has been so hot outside the last week, too hot for me.
I wear my hair in a knot, since it is too warm to let my hair loose.
As for the make-up: I'm hardly wearing any with such weather.
I'm only wearing some mascara, since foundation would be a real killer for my skin in these weather conditions.

The Gucci-shoes were a gift from my aunt.
I was at her place when she told me to try them on.
At first, I didn't think it was possible, since I'm a size 39 - 40 and the shoes were a size 38.
I still don't know how it's possible, but they did / do fit me.
So, my aunt told me:

'You can have them if you want.'

No need to tell me that twice. :D
They are tight, and they're not without any pain,
but hey, who cares?

Dress: VERO MODA // Belt: GUCCI // Shoes: GUCCI // Bag: CHANEL

P.S.: I know the pictures aren't of the greatest quality.
My sister's camera was charging, so I had to use my crappy camera.
The camera makes me look like a female Edward Cullen or something,
so I played with the light and contrast a little, screwing the pictures up even more.
Please, forgive me. I don't know a thing of editing pictures. :D

The Sartorialist-meeting: Outfit

Here are some pictures of my outfit during the blogger meeting with
The Sartorialist at Maasmechelen Village.
They were taken by David of Dutch Streetstyle, while we were waiting
for Scott Schuman to arrive.
David just mailed them to me, and I love them.

Thanks, David!

The Jumpsuit

The weather is great today, which sometimes is a rarity here in Belgium.
I decided to take advantage and to wear the jumpsuit I got from my aunt a while ago.

It's very comfortable, I love to wear it.
I usually wear the jumpsuit with some flats, but I decided to take out my Marni-shoes.
I should wear them more often, but I'm always so afraid I'll ruin them.
They're not the most comfortable shoes ever, but I love them.
And, my mom is always saying:

If you want to look pretty, you have to suffer sometimes.

I'm also wearing a vintage Gucci-watch, which used to belong to my grandfather.
He traded this watch for another, since his eyesight isn't that great anymore
and he was having too much trouble reading the time from this one.

P.S.: My cat decided to join me when I was taking these pictures. :D

Outfit // Too Short

The last couple of days have been hectic, I had a lot of things to do for school. I had a day off from school today, and of course, the weather was terrible. While taking a break from doing homework,
I snapped a couple of pictures. Since I knew I would be staying in for most of the day, I decided to go for a simple, all black outfit with some golden details. I love a black and gold combination.

The Gucci-belt is a gift from my mom, she knew I wanted a belt like that and out of the blue, she bought it for me! It defenitely is one of my most favourite and most cherished pieces, just like my Chanel-bag, which I bought myself and which is probably the reason why I show highly obsessive and protective behaviour about it.

I have a wedding on Saturday, so I'm going to the beauty salon right now to get all the necessary things done. ;)

Dress: ZARA // Tights: H&M // Heels: NEW LOOK

P.S.: Looking at those pictures, I'm starting to think that my mom was right: The dress is too short to be worn with tights, it might be better to wear leggings the next time!

Outfit // Valentine's Day

I hope you all have some nice plans for Valentine's day. I'm going out to have dinner with my BF, so I decided to put on a new dress I bought yesterday. I found this dress at New Look and it reminded me of Luella's S/S 2010 heart-shaped dresses. I made a post about the show.
