Outfit // Leather On Leather

 photo DSC03245_zpsd584e512.jpg
To my readers who started school again: I wish you all the best for this new year! You might not believe me, but you're actually going to miss school at one point in your life, so enjoy it as much as you can.

As for the outfit: it's probably not everyone's cup of tea, but it was exactly what I had in mind when I found this leather pencil skirt at New Look. I think this is my favorite look up 'till now. Not very practical - no air and too much sweat - but definitely my thing. I never thought I'd dare to participate in the cropped-topped-bare-belly-trend, but these high waisted skirts are perfect to cover up most of your, uhm, flaws. ;)

Sorry for not moving too much from my spot, but my neighbors were all peeking through their windows or passing by 'on purpose' while shooting this outfit. Trying to keep low profile.

Shark Attack Travels // Ascoli Piceno: Day 4 + 5

 photo DSC01450_zps549972b1.jpg
The reason why I skipped 2 days of photographs is because I was stuck inside, collecting votes for the competition in which I could win a vintage Chanel-bag. My best friend Dario spent 3 days at my aunt's restaurant back in Belgium, asking every single client that entered to vote for me. He's such a sweetheart and I bought him a nice Thank You-gift, but I can't tell you what it is, because he reads my blog! I ended 2nd in the competition and I want to thank everyone who voted for me!

We went to Meletti to drink a crodino yesterday, which is a 100-year-old bar and used to belong to the Meletti family, famous for their anisette. After that, we went straight home. It started to rain again, so it wasn't fun to stay outside.

P.S.: Sorry for the repetitive bag and shoes. Flying with Ryanair comes with tons of restrictions, so I hate to limit myself to one bag and two pair of shoes (my Chloé boots and Chanel espedrilles). A nightmare for every blogger!

Shark Attack Travels // Ascoli Piceno: Day 1

 photo DSC00913_zps5a7b3302.jpg
Hi from Italy!
Yes, I'm finally here again with my mom and my sister. I haven't had the chance to visit my family for 10 years, so it definitely feels good to be back. I'm staying at my mom's cousin's house and I'm glad I'll be able to update the blog during my stay, even if it takes forever with the slow Internet connection.

My family lives in Ascoli Piceno, a medieval city located in the middle of Italy's east coast. During our arrival and the first part of our first day here (which is today) it was warm and sunny, but now it's raining cats and dogs. We went for a walk around the city and it feels surreal to be here again. Plus, as a history lover, it's perfect to be surrounded by Roman bridges and medieval buildings. I already ate too much, by the way: white pizza with corn, stuffed olives (olive ascolane), risotto, frozen yoghurt, mini pizza on the go and we still have dinner tonight.

I already tried to snap as many pictures as possible. I'm so proud to show you the beautiful city I can call my temporary home again.

Ain't got much to say today. Spring finally decided to show its pretty face yesterday and it was the perfect opportunity to take my new Balenciaga glove sandals for a quick spin. Actually, all my B-pieces fit together perfectly - or at least for me - so that's how this outfit was created. I added my mom's necklace for a little bling and that's about it.

I'm not going to bore you with some useless writings, so have a nice day, y'all!

Outfit // California 66

 photo DSC00806_zps753a3566.jpg
I got this shirt at the new Sandro and Maje store at Maasmechelen Outlet Village, which has become my new favorite store in town as soon as I walked in. Two of my favorite brands at a major discount? It can't get better than that.

This shirt has 'summer' written all over it, with the number referring to the historic Route 66. You know, the route that starts in Chicago and goes all the way to Los Angeles? It's been a dream of mine to go on a road trip through the USA and even if it's still a dream for now, I hope I can make it come true some day. In the meanwhile, this shirt will do just fine. I'll be going on a 10-day trip to Italy in a couple of weeks to visit some family and go back to the place where I used to spend every summer. It's been 10 years since the last time I've been there, so it's needless to say that I'm excited. Plus, I might be going to Santorini this summer with some friends, so things are looking good so far.

I paired this shirt with my favorite leather jacket that I've worn to death (it used to be pitch black when I bought it) but that I just can't say goodbye to, some fake diamond earrings to bling things up, my purple jelly flats and my purple Balenciaga bag. Matchy matchy, but not too much.

P.S.: Shark Attack has been nominated to win a She Style Award. If you think my blog deserves to win, you can vote for me HERE by clicking on 'Breng je stem uit' underneath my picture (Shark Attack blog), enter your email address and a verification code and to click on 'Bevestig je stem'. Shark Attack Loves... // Balenciaga Golden Branch Tiara

 photo Balenciaga1_zpsaaaef39b.jpg
I came down with a fever and a throat infection, forcing me to stay in bed / on the couch for the past 2 days. With too much time and too little things to do, I decided to go on a research on my wish list items. Meaning: Googling pictures, drooling all over them, looking up stores and prices...

The same went for the Balenciaga headbands, famous from their S/S '13-runway show and probably my favorite pieces from the entire collection. I knew they had to be in stores by now, 'cause I'd already seen one of my favorite bloggers, Evangelie, wear one. So I quickly went on the hunt for the Golden Branch-version, as seen in the pictures above and below. I love history, I love mythology and this headband reminds me of Pan, the Greek god of the woods.

Already imagining the possibilities, I went looking for the price tag that comes with this beauty. It's Balenciaga, so it can't be cheap... But I never ever expected it to be a whopping € 1,385 ($ 1,815) when I stumbled upon it. Buying it won't be an option any time soon and even if it was, I'd rather buy myself a new Balenciaga bag.

New // Balenciaga Glove Sandals

 photo DSC00735_zps90fb7172.jpg
Yes, another pair of shoes. But I had to buy them, I just had to! I went on a shopping trip to Maastricht with my parents and one of the stores we always visit is Kiki Niesten, which has the best selection when it comes to Balenciaga, Céline and Chloé.

And what's even better: they have an outlet - Kiki 2 - across the store with discounts up to 70 %. Needless to say that the outlet is on top of our 'To Shop'-list too. When I bumped into the famous 'Glove' sandals by Balenciaga at a 70% discount AND in my size, I knew I would be sorry if I didn't get them. After convincing my dad that I really did need another pair of shoes in my life, I decided to go for it.

Just imagine them combined with a pair of skinny jeans, a dress, a skirt... They go with everything, right? Right??? Timeless classics to the core, yes!

You can get them on My Theresa in white, nude or hot purple here

Outfit // Egyptofunk

Photobucket
If you're a regular follower of the blog, you've probably noticed my collection of printed T-shirts by now. Some might think they're childish, but I just can't stop the urge to buy one more every time I see 'em. So when Balenciaga's Egyptofunk collection hit the runway, the hunt for one of these T-shirts started. I failed miserably hunting down Givenchy's Rottweiler-shirt and when I started seeing the Egyptofunk on all fashionistas possible during Fashion Week AGAIN, my fear of them being sold out started to grow stronger every second. But fear not, my friends! 'Cause I've found the Skyline Vegas Shirt at  Handsome in Hasselt. Some might think they're an 'it-item' which will only last for this season, but I don't give sh*t. Printed shirts are my thangggg, y'know?

Anyway, the futuristic prints remind me of 'Back To The Future'. Totally love that. But I also link them with those bad ass Wonder Woman heroines -- don't ask me why. Since most heroines wear tons of leather, and I happen to own tons of leather, I decided to go for an all leather suit while wearing the shirt for the first time: my totally worn off leather jacket, my new high waisted leather pants from the Lana Del Rey-collection at H&M (whatever Lana loves, I love too, lol) and my leather boots -- which, combined with my leather pants, look as if I'm wearing bootleggings or leggingboots. None of the two previous mentioned terms actually exist, but I think you get the picture. Since there's some purple in my shirt, I decided to take out my purple Balenciaga-bag. A bit of matchy matchy, but not too much.

As for the hair, I cut and dyed it. It was very necessary, even if I don't like the result. As for my eyebrows... Don't even ask. I have to draw them with a pencil 'cause I managed to get half of my brows waxed away during a 'waxing malfunction' (another non-existent word) and lets just say I'm not so good at drawing. It's not like I have another option, so yeah.

Magnum City Hunt // Introducing ... Bethsabee

Picture: Bethsabee Facebook Page

When I was looking at the list of the participating stores in the Magnum Pleasure City Hunt, I was excited to see Bethsabee on it. Whenever I'm in Hasselt, I always stop by, even if it's to do window shopping most of the time. Oh, the horrors of being a student!

Bethsabee sells the most exquisite footwear of the most drool worthy brands:
Gucci, Prada, Miu Miu, Dolce & Gabbana, Christian Dior, Balenciaga ... They also sell tons of Gucci and Miu Miu accessories. Sounds good, huh? Got a boyfriend / husband who's addicted to shoe shopping too? Maybe he'll find nice pair here as well, 'cause Bethsabee sells goodies for both sexes.

I thought it would be nice to share some pictures I snapped at Bethsabee during the Magnum Pleasure City Hunt. A report of the Hunt is coming up in the next few days, so stay tuned!

Outfit // Glam*It

Photobucket
A while ago, while shopping in Antwerp, I was stopped by the Glam*It-team and asked if I wanted to get featured in the 'She's Got The Look'-section. Yes, please!

Glam*It is one of my favorite magazines - I read it every month. So, when their main company announced that Glam*It would be taken off the shelves, hundreds of Belgian fashionista's were mourning this decision. The last Glam*It-issue hit the stores this month and I'm so bummed! Even though my picture didn't make it into the magazine anymore, I'm still proud that they even considered me to get featured. Glam*It's fashion editor Elspeth sent me the picture just now -- Thanks, Elspeth!

I was wearing:

Jacket: BERSHKA // Blouse: H&M // Shorts: H&M // Shoes: ACNE PISTOL BOOTS // Bag: BALENCIAGA

P.S.: May I also add I that find knees ugly? This picture proved me right once again.

Outfit // Not Sure

Photobucket

Behold, the outfit my mom styled for me. I wasn't sure about which shoes to wear with this outfit, and when I asked my mom about it, she said: Why don't you wear the pair you bought yesterday? My answer: Brown, white and pink? Are you, like, crazy? My mom kept telling me she liked the combo and even asked: Shall I take some pictures? I'm normally the first to ask, so I guess she was quite confident about her choice. She said I shouldn't wear my Steve Madden-pumps, because I always wear them with this type of outfit, which is true. I guess a little mix and match (?) can't hurt...

I now know I'm in desperate need of a pair of white heels. The ultimate search is coming up, because I find it so difficult to find a nice pair of white heels who don't look cheap and tacky.

So, what do you think of this combo?

With animal prints being one of the trends this moment, you literally see it everywhere. I like animal prints in outfits, unless it's not too much, since it can look tacky in a second. So I decided to keep the print low key, only adding it to my accessories. These safari pants are one of the best purchases ever: comfortable yet versatile - I love 'em!

Are you a fan of animal prints?

Outfit // Contradiction

A casual outfit to show my family who came from Italy around here and at the same time the perfect opportunity to wear my new Marc by Marc Jacobs Mouse flats! I thought it would be funny to wear the flats with this shirt, causing a bit of contradiction. Nevermind, Mr. Jacobs, you know I love you...

Shorts and Minnetonka-like boots during summer, it's one of those combo's you either love or hate. I love it, obviously, giving a nice bohemian summer look. Totally in love with this blouse too, which looks warm and heavy, but is actually soft and light. Now I'm off to enjoy the last sunny day (according to the weather man) and to do some shopping with my mom!

Outfit // Elizabeth Hurley-event

Photobucket

Here's an outfit post of what I wore to the Elizabeth Hurley-event before I'm off to work. Nude and white always work out well for me - I love that combination. The Steve Madden-pumps are getting less painful every time I wear them. I walked on them most of the day. I'll show you my new shoes tomorrow!

Now I'm off to work. I'll answer the comments on my previous post ASAP! Thank you all once again for all the love and support you're giving me throughout this journey!

Random // In The Morning

Photobucket

Waking up early when you have the chance to sleep in isn't that fun, but it has some advantages too. When I sleep in, I sleep until 9.30 am at the latest. I'm not that type of person to sleep in until 2 in the afternoon. There's so much you can do during that precious time and I don't like my days go to waste due to being lazy and not wanting to get out of bed.

Today was one of those days: I had the chance to sleep in, but was already awake at 8 am. This gave me the chance to clean the house bit - and making my mom happy - and check my favorite blogs and websites at ease afterwards. After I did all that, I took out my camera and tried to take some pictures of, well... Nothing special, basically. This is what happens when I get bored. :D

Here are some random pictures taken during the morning, and since my photographer was out working, I did an attempt to take some 'outfit' pictures myself. So excusez-moi for the crappy pictures!

Outfit // Spring Is In The Air

Photobucket

Hi everyone!

Spring has definitely come out today: sun, a nice breeze, birds chirping ... The weather often affects my mood and therefor also my outfits. I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to wear this flower-printed blouse and my Steve Madden nude pumps. And honestly... They hurt like hell! I hope it will get better after I've worn them a couple of times, 'cause they're too pretty to not wear them!

What are you going to do on this perfect day?
Unfortunately, I have a lot to do for school. :(
Enjoy the lovely weather!

Outfit // Steve Madden

Hi guys!

Here's a quick outfit post of what I'm wearing to the opening of the first European
Steve Madden-store in Antwerp later today.

I tried some colorblocking again, getting more used to it now. I traded the pink blouse
for a vintage yellow one, which is about 20 years old and belongs to my mom.

Talk to you later, when I'll have a full report of the event!

Outfit + Interview // Colors - Part 2

Hi everyone!

A couple of days ago, I received an email from a girl
asking if she could interview me. She's writing a thesis
about Belgian fashion (bloggers)and needed to interview
some fashion bloggers.

I was more than happy to help her out, and we met today.
The sun was shining, which gave me the courage to wear
the colorful outfit I bought a couple of days ago.

I was asked questions on why I started with Shark Attack,
where I get my inspiration from, how many time I spend
working on the blog, who my favorite designers are, ...

The interview went very well and the girl who interviewed
me was the sweetest!

Thank you, Annick!

Have a nice weekend!

Two pictures that caught my eye this week.

First of all, how damn cute are those Balenciaga-bags? I swear I almost fainted
when I saw all of those colors.
And even though I always wear golden jewelry, I really like this picture - It
intrigues me in a strange way...
