Ik herinner me nog goed hoe, toen het eerste deel van My Big Fat Greek Wedding in de cinema speelde, mijn papa me er naartoe sleepte om de film te zien. Mijn beide ouders zijn volbloed Italiaans, dus er waren heel wat raakpunten tussen de Griekse familie in de film en onze eigen familie: groot, luid, traditioneel, zeer patriottisch, soms een tikkeltje te bemoeizuchtig ... En ja hoor, ook wij hebben verschillende familieleden met dezelfde voornamen. Zuiderse mentaliteit, denk ik? Zelf heb ik wel altijd tegen mijn ouders gezegd dat ze niet moeten verwachten dat ik één van mijn kinderen naar hen ga vernoemen én dat ik hen niet kan verzekeren dat ik met een Italiaanse jongen ga trouwen (het ziet er naar uit dat dit ook niet gaat gebeuren, aangezien mijn vriend voor de volle 100 % een Belg is). Gelukkig zijn mijn ouders, zeker in vergelijking met de rest van onze familie, best modern en ruimdenkend.

Na het succes van My Big Fat Greek Wedding, is het nu tijd voor het tweede deel. Toula en Ian worstelen met de nog altijd grote, luide, traditionele, patriottische en bemoeizuchtige familie van Toula, met het spannend houden van hun huwelijk en met hun tienerdochter die worstelt met haar Griekse afkomst. Wanneer blijkt dat Toula's ouders, door een fout van de priester, nooit officieel voor de Griekse kerk getrouwd zijn, is het tijd om de hele familie weer bij elkaar te halen om een Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 te houden.

Volg de Engelse verpleegster Claire, die na haar terugkomst van de slagvelden in WO II weer met haar man herenigd wordt. Tijdens haar tweede huwelijksreis loopt ze door één van de oude steenkringen op de oude Britse eilanden en komt ze ineens in het Schotland van 1743 terecht, dat door een oorlog en gevechten tussen de wilde Highlandclans wordt verscheurd. Terug in de tijd geworpen door krachten die ze niet begrijpt, komt Claire in een wereld van gevaarlijke intriges terecht én wordt ze van spionage beschuldigd. Door omstandigheden wordt Claire gedwongen om met een vogelvrij verklaarde Highlander te trouwen en wordt ze verliefd om hem. Ze ziet zich opeens verscheurd tussen twee mannen in totaal verschillende tijdsperiodes, waardoor haar leven en haar hart in gevaar komen.

Hi guys! 

Those who follow me on Instagram, might have gotten a little hint that I did a photo shoot in collaboration with Hard Rock Cafe Brussels! Together with Dorothy and Luigi, I was chosen to be one of their fashion ambassadors and was given the challenge to style their iconic T-shirt in three different outfits: a party outfit, a festival outfit and an outfit that I'd wear to work. Those who follow my blog definitely know that I love myself a fine dose of rock 'n roll, whether it's in my personal style or in my taste of music. Challenge accepted! 

We were invited to do a photo shoot at the Hard Rock Cafe in Brussels and it was so much fun! The crew was amazing and truly welcoming, we got food and cocktails (always a plus in my book), we got our make up done and we got to work in the most relaxed atmosphere, with some of my favorite songs playing in the background. Oh, and I also got to prepare a surprise for you, guys!

The campaign focuses on the iconic Hard Rock Cafe T-shirt: the logo itself was created by Alan Aldrige back in 1971, a celebrity artist who's best known for his work with The Beatles. They first wanted to choose the colors red, white and blue to complete the logo, but they decided not to because   it would become an American overload. The world famous T-shirt itself was created in 1974 by accident. The Hard Rock Cafe in London (which was the first one to open) sponsored the local football team and created the T-shirts for the football players. The extra T-shirts were returned to the cafe and were then given away to loyal customers. The T-shirt became such a great hit among the public, that Isaac and Peter (the Hard Rock Cafe founder's) decided to sell them, which was a golden move. Reports say that at one point, more people would show up to buy a T-shirt rather than to sit and have a bite. Today, the retail section makes approximately 40 % of the Hard Rock Cafe business.

And like I said: I have a surprise for you!

On 11th February 2015, the most anticipated movie of the year (yes, of the year, already) Fifty Shades Of Grey will be released here in Belgium. It still baffles me how a bestseller series has turned into such a worldwide phenomenon; my girlfriends won't talk about anything else for weeks. Since the books have been translated in 51 languages and there have been sold over 100 million copies worldwide, I'm sure that all of my female readers know what I'm talking about.

Being the bookworm that I am, I have devoured all of the books in less than a week -- no joke. I've had tons of fantasies about Mr. Grey and Anastasia Steele (uhm, well this is uncomfortable...) and I can't wait to see if Jamie Dornan (Christian Grey) and Dakota Johnson (Anastasia Steele) will live up to my expectations. I have already planned a girls' night out to the movie theatre with my mom and her best friend; I'm so excited! As this movie will be the perfect distraction, I don't even mind celebrating Valentine's Day as a single woman this year.

Hey everyone!

Here we are with an exciting give away again! Shark Attack - Fashion Blog is giving one of you the chance to win the Marge's Extra Ingredients Quad from the highly anticipated The Simpsons & MAC collection. The quad contains four gorgeous colors, from a bright baby pink to a darker blue.

I had the opportunity to attend the launch of the The Simpsons & MAC collection at the MAC store in Antwerp (read the report HERE) and got myself some goodies, such as a blush, one of the lipglosses and the eye quad pictured above. I'm sure that most of you are wondering why I'm giving it away after buying it, so here we go:

When I saw the first press releases, I immediately fell in love with the Marge's Extra Ingredient Quad. So, at the event, I just had to get my hands on it. As soon as they told us that the collection was available for sale, I rushed to one of the saleswomen and told them that I wanted the quad. I was afraid that it would be sold out in a heartbeat, which is why I didn't take the time to take a proper look at it. 

For the past couple of days, I've been wanting to create a look with the eye quad. But, after having the chance to look at it decently, I came to the conclusion that the colors just aren't exactly my thing, especially the blue one. Don't get me wrong, I think this is a gorgeous quad, but I have the feeling that (except for the bright pink) the colors would look better on someone else. It's just a shame to leave this quad hidden in a drawer somewhere, only taking it out to use one single color from time to time. And, since I know that not all of you had the chance to purchase something from the collection AND since my blog will turn 5 years old in October, I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to celebrate this special birthday as a gesture of my appreciation.

So, that's the story behind it. I still have a blush and a lipgloss from the The Simpsons & MAC collection (which are both approved 100%, lol), so it's OK. I do want to make clear that I purchased this quad myself (so it is not a press sample) and that I never used it (not even for swatches). It really is brand new.

Having a job interview or starting a new job at the office soon? We all know how dreadful job interviews can be and while some might not know it... Don't underestimate the importance and / or impact of the outfit you're wearing to your job (interview). Remember: first impressions can make or break you and you'll never get a second chance to change the first thing that popped up into someone's mind when saw you for the first time. 

To help you out, Shark Attack teamed up with Monster Belgium a.k.a. Belgium's number one recruiting network. We thought it would be nice to share some tips with my readers. What to wear during a jobinterview, a day at the office ...? 

Here are some tips to get you started:

* Corporate Chameleon

If possible, try to find out as much as you can on the company's dress code policies. This will give you the chance to adapt your outfit to the company, which will give them the impression you belong there right away. If you're having a job interview at VOGUE, it's natural that you can spice up your outfit just that little bit more than when you're having a meeting at a lawyer's office. 

* When In Doubt, Go For Professional

Looking like a pro will hardly give you a bad score, even if the company's environment is more casual. 

* Be Comfortable

Not totally feeling your outfit? Don't wear it! People will notice and you will miss your opportunity to shine and look confident. Confidence is the key, ladies and gents! 

* The Center Of Attention ...

... is you! So, try to avoid over-the-top prints, make up and bling bling jewelry. They will derive the attention from your personality and what you have to say.

* Make It Your Own

Looking professional does not mean that you have to look completely boring. It's okay to give your look a personal touch, just don't take it to extreme levels.
