King Of Pop

Today's my first day off after 8 long days of work -- I slept until 11 a.m., which is probably the first time that ever happened.
Even if I go out, I'm already awake at 9 a.m.

I was standing in front of my closet, going through my shirts, when I bumped into this one that
I found at Zara a couple of months ago.
I can still remember what I was doing when Michael Jackson passed away.
It was one of those events that everyone will always remember -- It's like when someone asks you:
"What were you doing when you heard about 9/11?"
Now it's something like:
"What were you doing when you heard that MJ passed away?"

I was still sleeping, when my sister came into my room to tell me the news.
The night before, I was watching the news, when they said that the King Of Pop had a heart attack.
I couldn't believe it, hoping it was a mistake.
When he was accused of child abuse, I always said he was innocent. A lot of people laughed at me because of that,
but I didn't and still don't care.
And his 'Greatest Hits'-collection was and is always playing in my car, along with Guns 'n Roses.
So, here's my tribute to the one and only King Of Pop -- R.I.P.

Safari Inspiration

When I was in Morocco, I went on a 4x4 safari through the desert.
I guess I got inspired by the sandy colours around me,
because I bought this outfit at the local Zara.
I never / hardly wore beige before, so I had to adjust when I was trying on these pants, but I decided to go for it.

As for the hair -- I decided to try a loose braid. I saw models wear their hair like this in some editorials, when they used to wear similar outfits.
Don't know what to think about it, since I'm not a champion in doing my hair myself.

So, I wasn't sure when I bought it, but I love this outfit now -- It's definitely one of my favourites now!
I know you see me wearing black a lot, so what do you think about this change?
Do you like it?

Interview Girlscene

Hi guys!

About a month ago I got an email from Girlscene, a Dutch website about fashion, beauty and lifestyle.
They asked me if I wanted to do an interview for them, for the section 'The Style Of...'.
As anyone would be, I was a little bit honored that they asked me, so I immediately answered the questions.
The end result would be online... while I was in Morocco!
There wasn't any Internet where we were staying, so I had to wait until I was home to see the interview.
Very frustrating. :D

I took a couple of screenshots from the pictures used to glam up the interview.
The interview is in Dutch (Sorry to my international readers!), but the questions are quite similar from those from my interview with Chicisimo - CLICK HERE.

I was stunned by the amount of comments my interview got - both positive and negative ones, of course.
I don't have a thing against constructive criticism, not at all, but there were also some negative comments about my parents which bothered me a little.
I answered a question saying: 'If you're wondering how a student can afford all of this, my parents help me out a little.'
All of the sudden, I got comments about people telling me that I was a spoiled and arrogant girl, that I need to grow up and take care of my own, that I rely on my parents ...
If people want to attack me without knowing me, that's fine, but if my parents want to buy me something 'expensive', it's not anyone's problem, is it?

I think I would have got the same comments if I hadn't said a thing about my parents, but I just wanted to clear things out a little bit.
For those who are wondering: I do have a job during the weekends and holidays and work for my own money as much as I can. :)

I would like to thank Girlscene for giving me this opportunity, the interview looks great. :)
And also a huge thank you to each and every one of you that visit my blog and / or leave a comment.

Morocco 2010

Hi everyone!

After a period of absence, I'm finally back!
As you can tell from my previous post, I went to Agadir (Morocco) for 10 days.
I finally found the time to upload some pictures,
since I started working again the day after I got back and I won't get a day off until next Friday.

Morocco was much more than I expected:

- Beautiful nature;
- Great food - I fell in love with tagine and couscous;
- Friendly people and not clingy at all, as some may say;
- Cheap transport and food;
- ...

Leaving For Morocco!

In a couple of hours, I'll be on a plane to Morocco.
I'll stay there for 10 days.
I don't think I'll be able to tweet / blog from there, though. :(
But I'll make a lot of pictures, so stay tuned! :D

I want to try some Sex And The City 2 scenes,
like for example the one where Carrie buys shoes:

'20 dollars? For shoes? Shoes for everyone!'

Haha, just kidding!
I just hope the food will be good, I can buy some nice things there, and that it won't be TOO hot.

So... I guess I'll see you back on the 21st of July.
See you soon!

Krizia.

Chanel Haute Couture Fall 2010

Chanel's haute couture-fashion shows are always something to look forward to,
wondering what Karl Lagerfeld created this time.

The haute couture-show for Fall 2010 was no exception, and I absolutely loved it!
The decor was amazing - I'm in love with the big lion statue in the middle of the runway.
Coco's zodiac sign was Leo, wasn't it?
I was wondering where Baptiste Giabiconi was, not knowing at first that it was him with the lion mask on.
(Until he put it off, of course! See last picture!)

It's amazing how Mr. Lagerfeld could mix one coloured silhouettes among those with bold prints,
filled with diamonds and pearls (Yeah, Prince's song popped up when I saw the collection).
I totally love the boots, I want the gold ones with the black tip.
I know it's wishful thinking, of course, but a girl can dream, right?

Here's a selection of my favourite silhouettes.
If you're reading my blog for a while, you already may know that I have
a lot of trouble choosing my favourite looks from a fashion show - I always put on TOO many here.
I think I did a good job this time, even though it was still hard for me. :)

P.S.: All pictures are from www.style.com - I always look for runway shots (and much more) on here.

P.P.S: I know everyone is already talking about this fashion show, but I've been working a lot lately,
and today is the first time I could get a thorough look at it!

Important Day

Hi everyone!

First of all, I would like to apologize for the lack of posts.
I've been working a lot lately,
and it is hard sometimes to find a balance between work, friends / family and blogging.

Today, my sister will graduate from university.
I'm so proud of her! =)
We will go to her school in a couple of hours, they're holding a small 'graduation-party' there.

Of course, things are a bit hectic around here - everyone is running around getting ready.
I found the time to take some snaps of my outfit, though.
(Does it show that I'm a big fan of black and gold-outfits?)
It has been so hot outside the last week, too hot for me.
I wear my hair in a knot, since it is too warm to let my hair loose.
As for the make-up: I'm hardly wearing any with such weather.
I'm only wearing some mascara, since foundation would be a real killer for my skin in these weather conditions.

The Gucci-shoes were a gift from my aunt.
I was at her place when she told me to try them on.
At first, I didn't think it was possible, since I'm a size 39 - 40 and the shoes were a size 38.
I still don't know how it's possible, but they did / do fit me.
So, my aunt told me:

'You can have them if you want.'

No need to tell me that twice. :D
They are tight, and they're not without any pain,
but hey, who cares?

Dress: VERO MODA // Belt: GUCCI // Shoes: GUCCI // Bag: CHANEL

P.S.: I know the pictures aren't of the greatest quality.
My sister's camera was charging, so I had to use my crappy camera.
The camera makes me look like a female Edward Cullen or something,
so I played with the light and contrast a little, screwing the pictures up even more.
Please, forgive me. I don't know a thing of editing pictures. :D
