Event // Sam Edelman & Monar Pop-Up Store

DSC08437
After having a look at the stock sale at Jeurrisen (of which you about yesterday), I jetted of to Antwerp to celebrate the opening of the Sam Edelman pop-up store at Monar. Tons of celebrities, press, bloggers and other fans gathered together to give one of America's favorite shoe designers a warm welcome into our teeny, tiny country.

To promote his brand in Europe, Sam Edelman is planning to host an event in a trendy European city every six months. After Amsterdam, Milan and Paris, it was Antwerp's turn last Friday. Shortly after opening my blog, I proudly presented my readers my first pair of Sam Edelman shoes, so I just had to attend this event. See it as some kind of symbolic gesture; you can read the blogpost HERE, but please ignore the awful pictures and writing I published back then.

Event // Stock Sale @ Jeurissen

DSC08261
It's that time of the year again: the stock sales are starting, giving you the chance to buy pieces from your favorite designers at ridiculously cheap prices. I stopped by at Jeurissen in Hasselt to have a look at which pieces they are selling and to shoot some of my favorite items.

Jeurissen has been an established name in Hasselt and surroundings for ages and is a true family business for over 3 generations now. Since they sell tons of my favorite brands, I always take some time to visit their store whenever I'm in Hasselt. I'm talking Alexander Wang, Carven, Filles A Papa, Markus Lupfer, MSGSM and Peter Pilotto (just to name a few).

The stock sale at Jeurissen ends on 17 May and I suggest you to be fast if you're planning a visit, because they're selling some gorgeous pieces up to 70 % off.

Click below to see a small selection of my favorites. I can't ruin the surprise, right?

Review // Clinique 'Lash Power Feathering Mascara'

DSC08160
Another week, another product Clinique is launching. They just seem unstoppable! This time, I received their new 'Lash Power Feathering Mascara' to try out. Here's what it does according to Clinique:

- providing full, lush eyelashes thanks to an advanced formula and new, innovative brush;
- doesn't stain or flake;
- is easy to remove with warm water.

Initially intended for the humid Asian climates, this mascara is able to live through pool- and seawater, sweat, tears and rain. In case of tears, just think about the following quote by Adriana Lima:

"I won't cry for you, my mascara is too expensive."

Works for me.

Shark Attack Video // Introduction + New ASOS Clothes

Sooo, I'm excited and extremely nervous at the same time at the moment... I'm introducing you my first vlog / video / whatever you want to call it. Like I already said in the video (I definitely seem to love to repeat myself, lol): I'm still new with this, but I'm working on it! What I forgot to say in the video: I think that it would be nice to film on events, for example, because I sometimes find it hard to capture the right vibe or atmosphere going on at that event just by taking pictures. What do you think?

I've watched the video a billion times and here are some notes to myself:

* My left eye a.k.a. lazy eye is very noticeable on video, so I just wanted to let you know that: yes, I know my left eye is weird;
* I say "ASOS dot com" and "a voucher worth € 100" wayyy to much, sorry for that;
* Maybe (just maybe), I should have given the mint green blouse with the sequined collar some more attention;
* ...

Because I never take myself too seriously, I decided to leave some fails in video -- we all love fails.

Do let me know what you think about it!

Collection // ElevenParis & Bambi

ElevenParisBambi
Collage // Shark Attack - Fashion Blog

So, most of you already know my love for Disney (exhibit 1: HERE), my love for Bambi (exhibit 2: HERE; one of my first and worst posts ever, lol) and my love for ELEVENPARIS (exhibit 3: HERE). Knowing this, I'm sure you won't be surprised when I tell you that I was shrieking with excitement when I found out that these three have teamed up together, creating an ELEVENPARIS X BAMBI Capsule Collection for both boys and girls.

The adorable little fawn is getting his own famous back number T-shirt and sweater, along with the number 42; Bambi made his film debut way back in 1942. Admit it, don't we all still remember that heart-breaking scene where his mommy was shot and killed by a huntsman? And didn't we all cried (and still cry) whenever we see that scene again? Gosh, unsolved childhood traumas...

The ELEVENPARIS X BAMBI Capsule Collection will be available in all ELEVENPARIS stores and on their website at the end of April.

Shark Attack Loves... // Grey Hair

GreyHair Photo // Tumblr

I've been brainstorming on a new hairdo and / or hair color for a couple of months now, but I've still been undecided. It can be quite frustrating to think of something new if you've had every (hair) color of the rainbow -- literally; just click HERE to see an example. My parents have never limited me in my looks and trying out new and different things with it, something I still thank them for and will pass on to my children.

Anyway, I was browsing around Tumblr to soak up some inspiration, when I stumbled upon the best hair color I've seen in a long time. How insanely gorgeous is that grey hairdo? I'm already imagining myself with it, but there are some things that I have to keep in consideration -- boo!

Here are some tips for you to keep in mind if you're thinking about going for some drastic hair color changes:

* School / Work: First there was school I had to think about, now it's work. Aside from the blog, I'm also working as a part time sales assistant. Are they allowing their employees to dye their hair grey, even if you can't really consider as an unnatural color? How will customers react when they are being helped by a 24-year-old with grey hair? I'm usually not one to care about what others think about the way I look, but it's work, so I don't really have a choice.

* Colorist: It takes a top colorist to get to that shade of grey pictured above and even though all hairdressers know how to color hair, I trust only one with mine. It's the same colorist who successfully created the dip and dye I mentioned before and even though I'm pretty sure she can pull it off, I still need to talk about it with her first (if I'm even getting my hair dyed, that is). To me, it's important to have a one-on-one brainstorming session with my colorist first, going over all of the options, discussing certain problems that might occur and so on.

* Hair: To achieve the color in the picture, there's no doubt that a lot of work will have to be done. This might be an issue that you might want to talk to your colorist about; as mentioned above. If your hair is thin, vulnerable and sensitive, would it be a good idea to put it through that amount of bleaching and dyeing? Because lets face it: there's no use in having the color you want on hair that's as dry and lifeless as the Sahara desert. Know your hair before you put it through - sometimes - unnecessary and damaging scenarios, with unsatisfying results in the end.

* Budget: Since there's no way in hell that you're going to hair like that with a DIY (Do It Yourself) kit... A professional colorist will, without a doubt, have to step into the scene and we all know that they come with a certain price tag. Also keep in mind that you will have to get your roots retouched every couple of weeks and that you most certainly will have to purchase some hair products to repair your hair from all the damage; just think about special shampoos, conditioners, hair masks... Is it something you can handle financially? Even though we all like ourselves some pretty hair, going bankrupt isn't what you're going for.

So, what do you think about grey hair before you're in your fifties? I'm pro grey with this one (and 50 Shades Of Grey has nothing to do with it). I'm dying to hear your thoughts about this topic, so leave them in the comment box below!

New // COS Lace Bralette + Inspiration

COSLaceBra
Picture // Shark Attack - Fashion Blog

I'm usually not the one to follow (blogger) trends blatantly, but this one slowly grew on me. A couple of weeks ago, I was convinced permanently when I walked into the COS store in Antwerp and saw this lace beauty hanging right in front of me. When I tried it on, it made me realize that I should put more effort in wearing some nice lingerie. I do not own pretty, matching sets and always limit myself to basic black, white or nude bras and panties.

A lace bralette can pull even the simplest of outfits to a higher level; let it peak out underneath a shirt or blouse in a subtle manner or go all the way by wearing it with a cut out, loose tank top. You might want to look out with the last option, though. Most of the time, your nipples are visible through the lace -- just in case to avoid a nipple slip.

Click below to see some of my favorite looks that include lace bralettes and some tips on where to shop them.

Event // Preview H&M Conscious Exclusive 2014 Collection

DSC08031
Grab a marker and highlight Thursday, 10 April 2014, in your agenda, ladies (and gentlemen, if you're planning a shopping trip with the ladies)! It is tomorrow that the highly anticipated Conscious Exclusive 2014 collection by H&M will hit stores worldwide.

The entire collection is made out of sustainable materials which means that, if you're planning on buying something, you will not only have a gor-geous piece in your closet, but will also be a helping hand to the environment. Looking fabulous and supporting a good cause at the same time? Now, that's what I call a win-win situation.

I was invited to have an exclusive preview at the H&M press room in Brussels and the collection holds some head turning pieces, trust me. With a romantic bohemian and Spanish touch to it, my favorite pieces are the black dress, the headband and the beaded and super embellished cream jacket and heels. I'm still not sure if I'll be able to go and am hoping that my mom is willing to go with me. Too bad that she doesn't know how to handle a computer and therefor doesn't read my blog, héhé. In Belgium, the collection will be sold at the H&M stores in Brussels and Antwerp.

Review // Clinique 'Cheek Pop' Blush

DSC08079
Spring has landed here at Shark Attack HQ (I'm actually just sitting at my kitchen table, but HQ sounds so much fancier) thanks to Clinique, who sent me one of their new 'Cheek Pop' blushes. According to the beauty brand, getting "a natural blush was never so easy" with these Cheek Pops. Time to find out if what they say is what you get!

Event // Rituals Cosmetics Presentation

DSC08018
Last Wednesday, I jetted off to Antwerp to discover some novelties at the Rituals store. Rituals is the first brand to combine both body and home cosmetics: body creams, facial creams, perfumes, make up, tea, scented candles ... You name it, they have it. As you may already have noticed from the brand's name, all products are inspired by authentic Eastern rituals.

Anyway, like I said two minutes lines ago: Rituals decided to add some changes into their range of products, which you can read below. I'm not going to explain each and every product -- I suggest you go and try them out yourself. The staff will be more than happy to help you out, trust me. With stores in Amsterdam, London, Lisbon, Berlin, Stockholm, Sao Paolo, New York and Antwerp, you are destined to bump into a Rituals stores sooner or later, so do stop by if you have the chance. Plus, all of the products are affordable -- thumbs up!

Outfit // Never Grow Up

DSC07976
Never grow up... A motto that suits me perfectly. Just thinking about getting older gives me anxiety / panic attacks and visiting my grandmother in the elderly home gets me depressed for the rest of the day. I know, my dad always tells me that I should be grateful to live a long life, but it's just the way I feel bout this subject. Call me the female Peter Pan.

When I saw this Donald Duck T-shirt on Choies, I just had to click it home. I've been to Disneyland about 9 times now (and I want to plan a new trip soon) and Donald Duck has always been my favorite 'old school' character. I think it's because my dad can do the best Donald Duck imitation -- he did it once again when he saw me wearing this shirt and I still get tears from laughter every time he does it. Besides that, this shirt reminds me of simpler times, when I was literally care free and day dreaming non stop. It helps me escape, even if it's for a little while. Then again, you're never too old for Disney, right?

T-Shirt: Thanks To CHOIES (Similar HEREHERE or HERE) // Pants: H&M // Sneakers: CHANEL // Bag: STELLA MCCARTNEY 'FALABELLA' // Sunnies: RAY BAN
