Event // Steve Madden - Opening

Photobucket

Here they are, the pictures of the opening of the first Steve Madden store in Europe.

I had an amazing time, seeing some of my friends again, but also finally meeting some new bloggers I've
been wanting to meet for quite some time. Besides bloggers, there were also a lot of Belgian celebrities
and press.

How to describe the event? Food, drinks, lots of bloggers and shoes shoes shoes!
Can you imagine how happy we were when we were told we were allowed to choose a pair of shoes? We'll
be going back at the Steve Madden-store during the blogger meeting this Saturday to pick out our shoes,
because it was too crowded tonight.

The Steve Madden-store is located on the Meir 17 in Antwerp. It isn't a big store, but if you like shoes, I'm
sure you'll find what your looking for right there!

I would like to thank the people at Pravda & Steve Madden for inviting me. I had an amazing time!

P.S.: I still haven't figured out how to make my all my pictures the right size. I tried all of the sizes with
Photobucket, but they just stay the same. I'm giving up! So sorry if it isn't that pretty to see the vertical
pictures way larger than the horizontal ones, but I really have no idea how to fix it!

Outfit // Steve Madden

Photobucket

Hi guys!

Here's a quick outfit post of what I'm wearing to the opening of the first European
Steve Madden-store in Antwerp later today.

I tried some colorblocking again, getting more used to it now. I traded the pink blouse
for a vintage yellow one, which is about 20 years old and belongs to my mom.

Talk to you later, when I'll have a full report of the event!

Event // Elizabeth Hurley at Maasmechelen Village

Photobucket
Pictures: Oona

Hi everyone!

First of all, sorry once again for the lack of updates. I have a lot of
projects and deadlines for school which will end soon!

I'm looking forward to the coming days, since there are three exciting
events planned in my agenda.
I already told you about the first two:
the Steve Madden-opening in Antwerp this Thursday, and the blogger meeting
in Antwerp this Saturday.

But there's another exciting event coming up, and it's happening in my home
town:
Elizabeth Hurley - actress, model and designer - will be attending the
opening of her pop-up boutique at Maasmechelen Village on the 18th of April
which will sell mainly beachwear for women, but there will also be a collection
for children.

Elizabeth Hurley will be helping out in the store herself from 11 am
Shark Attack has been invited to attend the event, so you can expect a full
report here, but if you come to the event, be sure to let me know! I'd love
to meet you!

Not a fan of beachwear? They'll also sell a pink candle for 35 euros
25 % of it will go to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

So, once again:

Opening of the Elizabeth Hurley Beach Boutique
18th of April 2011 -- 11 am.
Maasmechelen Village

Hope to see you there!

New // Skull Shirt by Zadig & Voltaire

Photobucket

Photobucket

A surprise from my mom: this shirt by Zadig & Voltaire. I love skulls, so there was no
doubt I'd love this shirt. The thin fabric is great for spring / summer and I can already
see myself wearing it with some jeans and flats / heels. I also love the fact that the
skull is 'made' from tiny butterflies!

The skull is on the back side of the shirt, so I'll have to wear my hair in a pony tail
or chignon if I wear the shirt. =)

Outfit // Old Pink

Photobucket

Hi everyone!

I hope you all enjoyed this beautiful sunny day!
My mom and I went shopping in Maastricht, and since the weather was perfect, we decided
to take some outfit pictures.

I've been a good girl and I've been keeping my promise on adding some more color in
my wardrobe. I bought this old pink - How do you say this in English? - blouse a couple
of days ago, which is perfect for days like these: warm, but not that warm to walk
around with bare arms. I love the light fabric!
Unfortunately, it seems that I won't be separated from my favorite leather jacket,
which I wore to give this outfit an edgy touch... Again!

For such warm and sunny days I prefer not too much make up, since I have a very
sensitive skin. I'm only wearing some lipstick and mascara.

I think this outfit would have been better with heels, but unless you want a broken
ankle, I advise you to wear some flats if you ever visit Maastricht! The city is
covered all over with cobbles and they really ruin your heels.

Enjoy this sunny day!

x Krizia

P.S. I'm still figuring out how I can get my pictures to have the same largeness,
so bare with me! Suggestions are always welcome!

*UPDATE* An anonymous reader informed that the right term for this color is dusty
pink! Thank you!

Event // Steve Madden in Antwerp

Hi everyone!

In my previous post, I was talking about some exciting events I'll be attending
soon. I can already reveal one of them:
On the 31st of March, I'll attend the opening of the first European Steve Madden-store!
The event will take place in Antwerp and I'm very excited to be part of it.

If you don't know who Steve Madden is - shame on you! - I suggest you take a
look at his website HERE. He designs some great shoes!
While checking out his website, my eyes immediately spotted the beauties on the
picture above.
Aren't they adorable?
Of course, you can expect a full report right here on Shark Attack.

And also, my dear friend Sabrina from Vitalitijd gave me an award. I have to
tell 10 things of myself that nobody knows. This seemed like something fun,
so here we go:

1. I'm studying to become an English and history teacher, even if I'm not sure if
I'll start teaching right away when I graduate. Maybe I'll focus some more on the
blog first, and start teaching later. I'm still undecided. But I really want my
diploma, since you're basically nothing without one here in Belgium.
2. I'm a big fan of Days Of Our Lives, you know, that television soap for old
ladies. My mom and I started watching it about 5 years ago, and we've been
addicted ever since!
3. I love animals and always start to cry when I see animal cruelty. If I ever win
the lottery, I want to open a shelter for mistreated animals and give them a nice
home.
4. Besides fashion, reading is my second big interest. I don't know how many books
I own now, but I know that I have A LOT of them. I don't even know where to store
them!
5. Both of my parents are Italian, but almost everyone thinks I'm Belgian because
of my light hair, eyes and skin. Nevertheless, I'm still very proud of my heritage!
And yes, I speak Italian too!
6. If I could change something from my body, it would be my ... uhm ... 'bottom'.
It's too J.LO / ducky-ish, if you know what I mean.
7. I'm finding it VERY difficult to tell 10 things about myself!
8. During the weekends and holidays, I work in a restaurant at Maasmechelen Village.
9. When I was little, I used to have a crush on Peter Andre. I still wonder how that's
possible.
10. I admire you for reading this! :D

Feature // Affreux

Is there a better way to come home from a long day of work, only to find out that
someone wrote some sweet things about you and your blog?
I don't think so!
Well, this happened to me today
The sweet Manon from the blog Affreux wrote some kind words about Shark Attack.
I'm still honored every time someone features me, I don't think I'll ever get used to it!
So, once again: Thank you, Manon!

This is also the perfect opportunity to thank you all once again for the sweet
comments and support. I would be nothing without you!

I'm sorry for the lack of posts the past days, but work and school have been demanding
most of my time.
But there are some nice events coming up real soon, so stay tuned!

P.S.: The picture will bigger and more clear if you click on it.

Inspiration // Rick Genest for Thierry Mugler

Photobucket

Meet my current crush: Rick Genest a.k.a. Zombie Boy.
Call me crazy, but I think he has something very attractive.
I've always had a thing for boys with tattoos and while Rick
Genest has, well, a lot of them, I think it suits him very well.

Wondering where you've seen him before?
He's currently starring in Lady Gaga's video Born This Way
and was also strutting his pretty, tattooed face around Thierry
Mugler's catwalk during Paris Fashion Week.
And, as you can see, he's now modeling in Thierry Mugler's campaigns

Now, I must admit I'm dying to hear your thoughts about him.
Shoot!

Outfit // Jacket

Photobucket

The sun was shining today - LOVE - and I immediately took out my embellished
jacket by Pinko. The embellishment is so delicate, but I can't stand to see
this jacket hanging in my closet if I get a chance to wear it.

Any thoughts about it?

I spent the day with my grandfather -- That's him on the last picture. A lot
of people say we look a lot like each other, something I'm really proud of!

With everything happening in Japan right now, I realize once more that I
shouldn't take anything for granted and that I should enjoy  every moment I
spend with my loved ones...

What did you do on this sunny day?

Outfit // Classic

Photobucket

Buying something on a shopping day doesn't always have
to be the most satisfying part.

Today, I went to Antwerp with my mom. I ended up buying
nothing, but it was still one of the best days we spent
together:

talking, laughing, walking around the city ...

Today I wore an outfit created around some classics,
like (my sister's) trench coat and my Chanel-bag.

To me, it doesn't always have to be over-the-top.

x Krizia

P.S.: I accidentally changed something in the settings
of my camera, so some of the pictures are smaller
than the other ones.

I'll fix it ASAP!

Outfit + Interview // Colors - Part 2

Hi everyone!

A couple of days ago, I received an email from a girl
asking if she could interview me. She's writing a thesis
about Belgian fashion (bloggers)and needed to interview
some fashion bloggers.

I was more than happy to help her out, and we met today.
The sun was shining, which gave me the courage to wear
the colorful outfit I bought a couple of days ago.

I was asked questions on why I started with Shark Attack,
where I get my inspiration from, how many time I spend
working on the blog, who my favorite designers are, ...

The interview went very well and the girl who interviewed
me was the sweetest!

Thank you, Annick!

Have a nice weekend!

Paris Fashion Week // Showroom Belgium

Photobucket

Here are the official pictures of the Showroom Belgium-event
I attended during Paris Fashion Week, since my pictures were
terrible!

As I told you before, the concept of the event was to give
the opportunity to 13 Belgian designers to show and present
their collections to the international fashion industry
the media and potential buyers.

The designers were chosen by the Flanders Fashion Institute
(FFI) and Wallonie-Bruxelles Design/Mode (WBDM). Not only to
they give the upcoming fashion designers the chance to present
their collections in Paris, they also give them advice and
assistance concerning the buyers.

The reason why I'm dedicating a whole post to this event?
We all know how difficult it is to create a stable career in
the fashion world. So, I wanted to support the upcoming talent
of my little country in any way I can.
I also find it amazing how our two big fashion institutes believe
in the young designers and do everything they can to support and
launch their careers.

Here are some of my favorite pictures of the event.
Which one is your favorite?

P.S.: All pictures are courtesy of Mark Florquin.
P.P.S.: The first picture is courtesy of Cindy from Glamour Bbey.
I liked this one more than the one I took. :D
P.P.P.S: My dad and I totally fell in love with the location.
We could totally see ourselves living there.

New // Colors

Photobucket

After spending my morning in the school library - during the holidays that is -
my mom and I went shopping in Hasselt.

When we entered Zara it became very obvious that color blocking will be THE trend
for upcoming season.

My mom persuaded me to buy some colors, taking a break from all the black I'm used
to wear. While I was in the fitting rooms, I even tweeted the outfit to hear some
thoughts, since it was really weird to see myself wearing such colors. I think I
changed my skirts and my mind about twenty times. Going from black to orange and
pink was a very big step for me.

So... *drumrolls* ... What do you think?

P.S.: You might need some sunglasses to look at the pictures. :D
P.P.S.: The clothes need some tailoring (and ironing too), so I'm not sure when
I'll be able to wear them. Soon, I hope!

New // YSL Arty Ring - Part 2

Photobucket

Hi everyone!

Judging on the title, I think you can probably guess what I bought in Paris...
I just could not resist! I know, my dad thinks I'm crazy too! He couldn't understand
why I would want to buy / wear two rings which (to him) are exactly the same, while
to me they're still different.

I bought the YSL Arty Ring with the turquoise stone, since it matched the dark blue
one I got first the best.

As soon as I got the chance, I wore the two rings together. My dad and sister think
it's hideous, while my mom thinks it's 'OK'. At a family reunion yesterday, my cousins
were mocking my - what they called - knuckle-duster.

As a big lover of chunky, big jewelry I absolutely love to wear the rings like this
(obviously), but I do realize that this is something you either love or hate.

What do you think?

Paris Fashion Week // Day & Night

Here are the other pictures of my Parisian day and night during Fashion Week.

I miss Paris already - Two of my greatest interests are out there:
history and fashion.
I didn't have to time to be the tourist, but I'll go back to Paris
next month with my best friend, and we'll go to all the touristic
places. :D

P.S.: In this post you'll see the celebrity I saw on the
Champs-Elysées.

Paris Fashion Week // Outside Dior

Hi everyone!

I'm back from Paris Fashion Week, and it was a hectic, but wonderful day!
Since the Showroom Belgium-event wasn't until 7 p.m., I had some free time
throughout the day. My dad and I decided to have a look outside of the Dior show,
which was located at Musée Rodin

The amount of people outside of the show was insane! But anyhow, it was nice to
experience something like this.
I saw a lot of famous faces & bloggers walking around.

Here are some pictures - I hope you like them!

P.S.: Not all of the pictures are of great quality, since there
was a lot of pushing and pulling. ;)

P.P.S.: I saw another celebrity on the Champs Elysées, but that's
for the next post!

Random // Packing

Hi guys!

I'm leaving for Paris Fashion Week tomorrow, where I'll attend the Showroom Belgium-event.
Twelve upcoming Belgian designers will present their collections in Paris and I'm
very excited, but above all curious, to see what Belgium's new talent has in store
for us.

Even if I'm only going one day - I have a family reunion party on Saturday - I'm
going crazy on what to take with me! Here's a sneak peek on the accessories I'm
thinking about bringing with me:

My Chanel-bag will come with me for sure, since Paris is the place where Coco
Chanel started her empire. I'm also bringing my BCBG Max Azria-clutch, just in
case I change my mind. (1st picture)

And then we have the shoes... Throughout the day, I'm planning to wear the
black River Island-wedges on the right. They're comfortable, yet not too common
for Fashion Week. For the evening, I'm still doubting between the black peep toe
ankle boots from Mango or my Mary Janes by Versace. (2nd picture)

And last but not least, my Galliano-shirt. I hope the weather will allow me to
wear it throughout the day, since the fabric is thin and it leaves part of my back
uncovered. I have a second (yet non-Galliano) shirt, that will save me if I can't
wear this one. (3rd picture)

I don't approve what John Galliano said at all, but it is obvious he has some great
issues and (drinking) problems. He definitely needs some professional help, and I
think it's very sad that people are turning his back on him now that he needs our
support the most. It's obvious he was very intoxicated on the video and I think the
video is just a small part of something bigger -- Something we don't know of.
He did great things for Dior, and honestly? I think they're making a big mistake by
firing him, even if I can understand their point of view too.
But then again, I'm just a tiny fashion blogger who wants to show her love and
support for this genius (who just had to be a teeny tiny bit smarter...)

I'd love to hear your opinions on this matter, though.
Spill it out!

Outfit // KISS

Finally, the sun is shining again, which
instantly reflects on my mood and outfits too.
My mom took these pictures, and we had so much fun

Even though I like to dress girly, I also love to wear
outfits with a raw edge. The KISS-shirt is actually a
men's shirt, but since I'm a big fan of KISS, I had to
have it.

I think I'll take this leather jacket, the shorts and the
tights with me to Paris Fashion Week this Friday for my
outfit throughout the day. I'll change the shirt
and shoes - I wouldn't last long wearing these ones - and
add some accessories. What do you think?
For the event I'll attend at night, I have another outfit
of course.
