Beauty // M.A.C. Liptensity Lipsticks

MACLiptensity1
Meet M.A.C.'s new lipstick line called Liptensity, created in collaboration with Maureen Seaberg. While M.A.C. usually makes an appeal to celebrities to work with them, they now asked a tetrachromat to help them out. Not sure what I'm talking about? Don't worry, I wasn't either at first.

A tetrachromat is someone with "the genetic ability to see up to 100 million hues imperceptible to the average naked eye" -- in other words: someone who sees 100 times more colors than the average person. With the help of Maureen Seaberg and the High-Frequency Tetrachromatic Pigments technology , M.A.C. was able to create a lipstick line of 24 unseen, intense colors.

Someone told me that they have a matte finish - insert angel voices singing - so I can already predict surviving on water and bread after being able to make it to the M.A.C. store again. To see all shades and their names, click below.

Do let us know which one is your favorite!

INFO & DETAILS:

The M.A.C. Liptensity collection is now available online and hits stores in October.
They sell for € 25 each.

Review // MAC x Brooke Candy

MACxBrookeCandy2
I solemnly swear that MAC isn't paying me to write about their lipsticks, but I can't resist all their collabs. MAC and Brooke Candy are collaborating for the second time and I ordered some goodies online. Even though her collection goes from nail polishes to eyeliners, I 'only' got two lipsticks and a lip pencil. The two lipsticks I got are Witching Hour and Doowop and the lipliner is called Night Crawler.

To read more and see the lipsticks on my lips, click below.

Doowop and Witching Hour sell for € 21,50 and Night Crawler sells for € 17.
All info and prices available on the MAC website.
The MAC x Brooke Candy collection is still available online in Belgium.

Review // MAC x Charlotte Olympia Lipsticks

CharlotteOlympiaxMAC1
Some of you might be tired of the MAC overdose on the blog, but I just can't help it. With every collaboration launched, they nail it once again. When I heard that designer Charlotte Olympia was up next to create a MAC make up collection, I knew it would be good. Trying to prevent myself from going bankrupt, I only purchased the lipsticks (even though her collection contains make up brushes, eyeliners, mascaras, nail polishes and much more); they are red and matte, what more do I need?

It's time to meet Leading Lady Red (top), Starlett Scarlet (middle) and Retro Rouge (bottom).
Which one is your favorite?

The MAC x Charlotte Olympia collection is still available online in some regions, so hurry if you want to get your hands on some goodies as well!

Review // MAC x Dita Von Teese Lipstick

MACxDitaVonTeese1
As I announced earlier, MAC and Dita Von Teese collaborated for a second time: first Dita being the Viva Glam spokesperson in 2006 and 2007 and now giving her the chance to create her own MAC lipstick, which is called Von Tease. Luckily, I managed to get my hands on this highly coveted - but unfortunately sold out - lipstick and decided to review it for you.

I'm not sure when I became a fan of Dita, but I think it must have been around the time that she married Marilyn Manson, of whom I was a big fan starting from my early teen years. It was her that made me comfortable of and in my pale skin and it was also her that shaped my love for pitch black eyeliner and red lipstick. Dita never misses a beat and always looks impeccable, you can Google it if you don't believe me. Oh, and she always does her own make up!

Beauty News // Ariana Grande For MAC Viva Glam

ArianaGrandeMAC
Say 'bye bye' now, Miley! Another teen idol has been selected as the ambassador of the MAC Viva Glam campaign and it is none other than Ariana Grande. After launching her own perfume not too long ago, this is her next step in (beauty) world domination. I have to admit that I'm not much of an Arianator; I'm not a big fan of her music or her shoes, but I must admit that she has one hell of a voice. Just take a look at her performance during the American Music Awards 2013. I am, however, a big fan of this MAC collaboration.

Do you want to see what I mean?

The Ariana Grande MAC Viva Glam collection will be available from January 2016.
Every cent of the sales will go to those who are suffering from HIV / AIDS.

Beauty News // MAC x Zac Posen Coming In February 2016

MACxZacPosen
My bank account has barely recovered from one MAC collaboration or they are already announcing another one. Next in line is none other than designer Zac Posen, whom I've always loved for his tasteful, feminine en graceful designs. I remember that I wrote one of my very first blogposts about him; which definitely shows, since I only wrote two lines, lol. A newbie in the blogging world, you can tell.

MAC x Zac (hehe) go way back together; here's what they both have to say about the collaboration:

After dazzling women with his modern but timeless designs on the runway and red carpet for 13 years, New York designer Zac Posen presents his debut colour collection for MAC.

"Over the past 15 years I have learned a great deal from MAC about beauty. Fashion and beauty go hand-in-hand and I have always wanted to create a make up collection to complement my designs and brand. It was only natural to work with MAC to create my first ever signature collection. I wanted to keep it luxurious, a little mysterious and clean with a large dose of star wattage. "
- Zac Posen

"Zac Posen has been a part of the MAC family for over 15 years, as we've been supporters from his very first collection in 2001. Zac's classic designs and deft hand in draping, textures and overall femininity evoke a kind of throw-back glamour that still feels modern. This collection is the perfect encapsulation of both of our worlds, with something sophisticated and sexy for every woman out there."
- MAC Senior Vice President / Group Creative Director James Gager

It looks like to collection includes:

- three lipsticks
- a six shades eyeshadow palette
- an eyeliner
- a mascara
- a blush / bronzer palette
- a finishing matte powder
- a blush brush (try saying that 10 times in a row)
- a kabuki brush

Judging by the colors in the eyeshadow palette and the one lipstick that is visible in the picture (see it after the jump), I'm kinda bummed that they didn't release the collection for the holidays. I think that the eyeshadow palette is perfect to create a stunning look for Christmas or New Year's Eve. That being said, I absolutely love this collection and I'm putting the eyeshadow palette, the eyeliner, the finishing matte powder and maybe both brushes on my wish list.

What do you think about the collection? Sound off in the comment box below!

The MAC x Zac Posen collection will be available in selected stores and online in February 2016

Review // MAC 'The Matte Lip'

MACTheMatteLip4
When MAC announced that they would launch a line of 20 matte lipsticks, called The Matte Lip, I was literally over the moon. With The Matte Lip, MAC decided to put shades from previous, temporary collections into the permanent collection and also created new shades, both Matte and Retro Matte. And other shades were already part of the permanent collection before The Matte Lip was launched.

I saw them online, but hesitated to order them, because I wanted the chance to swatch them and all. I usually only order limited editions through the web. So I went on the hunt for The Matte Lip in stores, without any success. If I had the luck to find them, most shades were already sold out. I had given up on them for a while, but then I finally found them at a MAC counter during my recent citytrip to Zaragoza, Spain. And most shades were still available! Three of them came home with me and I decided to review them for you.

Personal // Redecorating My Bedside Table

Interior8
Hey guys! I have some news... I bought a house! Yes, I'm definitely growing up now. The house belonged to my grandparents and after they both passed away, we had to decide what to do with it. We quickly came to the conclusion that we didn't want any strangers living in the house my mother aunt, sister and I grew up in, so my sister and I decided to buy it. It feels kinda scary, since it is a very big step, but I'm so glad that we did it.

Everything that belonged to my grandparents is still in there and when we were cleaning up, I found a couple of silver trays. My mom wanted to throw them away, but I thought it would be perfect to display all of the jewelry that I wear the most. I love mixing the old with the new and even if it is 'just' a tray, it belonged to my grandmother, so it's nice to keep it around. One thing led to another and suddenly, I found myself redecorating my entire bedside table.

My bedside table used to be stacked with little statues from Disneyland (Tinkerbell, the Little Mermaid), trolls (don't ask) and jewelry boxes that are too small to actually put some jewelry in. I gave them all a new home across my room and decided that, next to my jewelry, I wanted my daily make up on there as well. And voilà, you can see the result above and below.

What do you think about it?

Beauty // Subtle Ombre Lips

OmbreLips1
I was playing around with my lipsticks, trying to create my own interpretation of the ombre lip, and I though it would be fun to set up a super quick tutorial on how I did it. The ombre lip has to be the easiest and quickest way to add that extra something to your look. For this tutorial, I went for very subtle ombre lips. It's perfect for both day and night, even though I prefer something stronger and more 'out there' when I go to a party. And the colors are super appropriate for spring and summer; if only the weather would co-operate here in Belgium. I stepped outside with the lips above and a couple of people told me that there was something about my face, but that they could put their finger on it. When I pointed out my lips, they were all very positive about it and they asked me how I did it. Mission accomplished! Ready?

Review // MAC x Nasty Gal Lipsticks

MACxNastyGal
Leave it to MAC to launch collaborations that make my heart beat faster. I'm no expert when it comes to blushes, eyeshadows and so on (even though I would want to be), so I immediately go for the lipsticks instead. When I first heard the news that MAC and Nasty Gal were teaming up, I was over the moon. Even though I have never ordered anything from the website (I'm a pussy when it comes to ordering online overseas; I'm always afraid that something will go wrong), I do check it at least once a week. Plus, I already shared my excitement on the MAC x Nasty Gal collection before here

You probably all know about my love for matte lipsticks already, so when I found out that all three lipsticks would be matte, I knew I had to get my hands on them. Whenever MAC collaborates with a celebrity or a brand, the collections hit stores on a Saturday most of the time -- when I have to work. The best chance I had was to find out when the collection would be launched online. Thanks to some inside sources (do I sound like Gossip Girl already), I was anxiously sitting in front of my laptop one morning, hitting that refresh button like a mofo.

After waiting for what seemed an eternity (and were only three days in reality), I finally received my babies. Yes, I order my children online. And now, I can finally review them for you! Are you ready?

The MAC x Nasty Gal collection will hit stores on Saturday, 7 February 2015.

Review // MAC x Prabal Gurung 'Ultramarine Pink' & 'Carmine Rouge' Lipsticks

MACxPrabalGurung5
I'm not sure what happened to the quality of these pictures, but as you can see, the quality turned into crap. #cries I also shot other beauty products that same day and it also happened to those pictures as well, so I just wanted to give you a heads up aka 'Expect some crap pictures in the next posts' while I'll try to figure out what went wrong in the meantime...

I know I'm kinda late with this post on the MAC x Prabal Gurung collection, but I honestly wasn't even counting on finding it on stores anymore. But I did! I went shopping in Antwerp a couple of days ago and there will still quite some items available. Score! I snatched up the lipsticks Ultramarine Pink and Carmine Rouge. My bestie Dario always asked me what I'm planning to do with "another lipstick", but I just can't help myself. If there happens to be a ALA (Anonymous Lipstick Addicts) somewhere, do let me know.

Prabal Gurung is a fashion designer based in New York City and is from Nepalese descent. He launched his career in New Delhi, India and when he moved to New York City, Prabal Gurung interned for Donna Karan while attending the famous Parsons School of Design. He showcased his first collection during New York Fashion Week in February 2009 and has dressed major celebrities and royals such as Oprah, Michelle Obama, Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Middleton, Lady Gaga and many more.

CollageMACCollabs
If you follow my blog or my Instagram, I guess it's needless to say that I absolutely love MAC products and their collaborations. And even though MAC is one of the best when it comes to collabs, their are a couple that are still on my wish list. So, I thought it would be fun to put these together with and to enlighten you with my opinion.

Beauty // MAC 'Keepsakes' Holiday Collection

MACKeepsakes1
The holidays are rapidly approaching, which means that tons of beauty brands are launching their holiday collections. These collections are usually synonym to festive and exclusive packaging, tons of glitz and glam; kind of collector's items, really.

MAC also launched their holiday collection, which is perfect to give to any MAC-addict or just to any woman. Just like MAC says it, the collection consists of "chic, coordinated sets for eyes, lips and face in a variety of colour combinations to give you endless options." The theme of the collection is based on heirlooms and keepsakes, which - for me, personally - definitely can be seen in the packaging of the face and eye palettes. Perfect for underneath the Christmas tree!

My favorites are the Plum Eyes and Smoky Eyes Palettes, the Red Lip Bag, the Natural Face Palette, the Studio Brush Kit and both of the Viva Glam Kits. What are yours?

Random // Romantic

Romantic1
I'm off to a party tonight, so I'm leaving you with a super quick post of what I'm planning to wear. The theme is 'salsa' so I decided to go for a Spanish / southern look by wearing this red lace dress and big, golden earrings. As for the make up: I'm not so sure about the eyes. I don't have time to fix it now, so it will do. The red lips turned out perfect, though, so I'm happy about that. I'm loving the romantic vibe to this look, something I don't usually go for... My mom aka photographer was out all day, so I'm leaving you with these selfies that I took myself, hehe.

So, what do you think? Do you have anything fun planned for tonight?
Enjoy your Friday night!

Outfit // Wang

AlexanderWangxHM2

As you might have seen on my Instagram, I attended the Alexander Wang x H&M presale event in Antwerp yesterday. Not really knowing what to expect, I thought I would be able to take a look at the collection at ease, casually trying on my favorite pieces ... Boy, was I wrong! I suddenly found myself in line together with hundreds of other people: press, bloggers, celebrities, boys and girls who won various contests to win a ticket to the event ... It was MADNESS. Plus, I was wearing a faux fur leopard printed coat, skinny leather trousers and my Isabel Marant sneakers (trip alert!) -- not the best outfit for a night of pushing, shoving, running ...

Anyway, it was madness, but it was fun though! My partner in crime Michel was right by my side, I spotted some of my blogger besties here and there, Ouni killed it behind the DJ booth with an amazing RnB / rap / hip hop set and the H&M staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

Even though I wasn't convinced of the collection at first, it quickly changed when I tried on the pieces I managed to get my hands on. I first tried on the baggy leather pants, but they weren't for me; which is probably for the best, since they came with a € 250 price tag. Next up were the grey leggings and sports bra Rihanna was spotted wearing way before the collection hit the stores and even though I never thought I would: I loved them! I can even go to the gym in style now. Michel was Whatsapping pictures to my mom and she texted that they were cool and I should get them, but that I would have to go to the gym at least 3 times a week from now on. Sounds fair enough. There's also a super tight dress in the same print as the leggings and the sports bra, which I also took home with me.

And last but not least, Michel managed to get me the sweater I'm wearing in this outfit post: aren't the cut out / transparent details to die for? I'm so happy that I got it -- thanks, M.! I almost froze to death while taking these pictures yesterday, but I couldn't wait to show you how it looked.

What do you think?
Did you manage to get what you wanted from the collection?

Beauty // MAC x Nasty Gal & MAC Viva Glam x Miley Cyrus

CollageMACVivaGlamNastyGal
Sorry for going MIA for the past few days, but I've come down with the worst cold and cough known to mankind which has been consuming all of my energy. After spending too much time laying on the couch with a mug of green tea in one hand and a box of tissues in the other hand, my fingers began to itch and I knew it was time to get back to work for the blog again. And I'm doing it with some exciting news from MAC!

MAC has been killing it with their collaborations; I'm still waiting for a MAC x Kylie Jenner collab though. I can't die peacefully if I don't know which lipstick and / or lip liner she's using. And they announced two more! One with the edgy fashion brand Nasty Gal and one with Miley Cyrus for Viva Glam.

Excited much?
