Fashion // New Zara Shoes, My Favorite Trend & Current Wish List

ZaraShoes
Hi guys, I just wanted to give you a short update on my two latest additions to my closet and my favorite trend for spring and summer. During a shopping spree at Zara, I came home with two new pair of shoes. #SorryNotSorry Can I also give a shoutout to the best boyfriend in the world -- which is mine -- for letting me shop without pointing out the amount of shoes that are already in my closet? I love you, babe.

After taking this picture, I realized that there was a third pair that I got at Zara (again, #SorryNotSorry) and I forgot to photograph; you can see and shop them here. I've been wearing espadrilles for as long as I can remember and apart of the fact that they are super comfy, I also love that are made out of leather. It gives them that extra edgy vibe. If you're a longtime follower of the blog, you know I love myself some leather goodies.

The flower printed ankle booties were on my wish list for quite a while, but they seemed to be missing from every Zara store I visited. I even ordered my aunt and boyfriend to look for them in the Netherlands, without any result. Didn't I tell you that I have the best boyfriend in the world? Anyway, I had already given up on them when I entered the Zara-store in Düsseldorf and they were the first thing I saw. I already wore them with an all black outfit, but I can't wait to combine them with a casual white shirt and a pair of black skinny jeans.

As for the tropical printed babouche slippers on the right: they're the ultimate love or hate thing. If I had a say in it, I would choose them as my favorite trend for this spring and summer. They're casual but edgy and the options on how to wear them are endless. Plus, don't we all love a romantic, Arab, Aladdin vibe? I spotted this pair and tried them on at the Zara in Maastricht, but didn't get them because my sister kept telling me how much she hated them. When I was laying in bed, all I could think was: since when do I listen to other people's opinion? It literally felt as if I neglected my morals and values. *Insert dramatic tune here* So the next day, I asked my boyfriend to take me to Maastricht again (best boyfriend) and the shoes and I lived happily ever after.

WISH LIST:

I also spotted another pair of babouche slippers, this time by Jeffrey Campbell, but they are sold out everywhere! #Cries They're called the Sarika-Emb flats and they're so Dolce & Gabbana. Most people will think they're too much, but I think they're the coolest. I already subscribed myself to receive an email when they're going to be restocked, so fingers crossed! What are your thoughts on them?

New // Chanel Ankle Boots

ChanelMetiersDartSalzburg5
A gift from to me for my 26th birthday. I fell in love with these Chanel boots ever since I saw them in the Chanel Métiers d'Art fashion show in Salzburg and posted the pink version on my Instagram account. After visiting every Chanel store possible without any luck, I kinda had given up on them; and then I visited the Chanel store in Brussels.

I asked about the boots and it turns out that they had one pair left, in my size. Coincidence? I think not! They might not be the pink ones that I initially wanted, but I think that these grey ones will give me the opportunity to wear them way more often. Even though I realize that the shoes might not be everyone's cup of tea, I love that they are classic and bold at the same time -- the golden, quilted heels are everything! I think that the model and color are timeless, something I always think about whenever I'm about to do a big purchase.

Plus, I'd like to thank Chanel Brussels for the excellent service.

Thoughts?

While visiting my favorite shoe stores and websites, I noticed that a lot of them have one thing in common: a thick, heavy chain on the front or on the back. I thought it would be fun to put some of my favorites in one collage. Last week, I had the chance to pick out a pair of Sam Edelman shoes and I went for the black booties in the middle in the bottom row: suède, leather and a gold chain on the back. I'm totally in love with them and I can't wait for them to arrive!

Happy shopping!

Event // Sam Edelman & Monar Pop-Up Store

DSC08437
After having a look at the stock sale at Jeurrisen (of which you about yesterday), I jetted of to Antwerp to celebrate the opening of the Sam Edelman pop-up store at Monar. Tons of celebrities, press, bloggers and other fans gathered together to give one of America's favorite shoe designers a warm welcome into our teeny, tiny country.

To promote his brand in Europe, Sam Edelman is planning to host an event in a trendy European city every six months. After Amsterdam, Milan and Paris, it was Antwerp's turn last Friday. Shortly after opening my blog, I proudly presented my readers my first pair of Sam Edelman shoes, so I just had to attend this event. See it as some kind of symbolic gesture; you can read the blogpost HERE, but please ignore the awful pictures and writing I published back then.

Click below to see my report of the event!

New // Sacha Sneakers

 photo DSC02036_zps1a78e698.jpg
Meet my new sneakers, gifted by Sacha. When they told me I could pick a pair from their website, I knew it would be sneakers, since my ankle is still broken and I probably won't be able to wear heels for a while... Which is also why I'm not posting any outfit posts lately. All I can wear for the moment are leggings and sweatpants. Nothing fashionable about that.

Anyway, I thought these sneakers would look cool combined with a pair of skinny jeans, leather trousers or underneath a dress. If Rihanna's allowed to do it, so am I. When I opened the box, I immediately noticed the platform sole. They didn't seem so 'platformy' when I clicked them home, so I kinda started panicking. I never considered myself as one to wear platforms. Anyway, I do like myself a challenge once in a while and the more I look at them, the more I like them. They'll add the right amount of dope / swag to an outfit. Oh no, I'm talking slang now!

I did some research on bloggers who love to wear platform sneakers -- check out my selection below. What do you think about this trend? Love or hate?

P.S.: You can get the sneakers here! Not into black and gold? Sacha offers tons of other awesome shoes, so get your click on.

New // Vans Inspired Givenchy's

 photo Vans_zpsbbec1fd8.jpg
Oops, I did it again... I stopped by at Shoebaloo again, saw a nice pair of shoes again and bought them again. I've been a fan of Vans ever since my first years in high school - and that's a long time ago now, boohoo - and even though these slip ons by Givenchy aren't a collaboration with Vans (like Kenzo did), they sure are inspired by them.

When I was in my second year of high school, I decided to buy the classic black and white checked Vans. When I wore them to school for the first time, people stared at me as if they'd seen a ghost. Checked shoes? Oh hell, that was a no no at that time, or so it seemed. Two weeks later, about a dozen of other people were wearing them. I'm not saying I'm a trendsetter, but that's how it goes around here in my little home town: one starts something, the others follow.

I only wear my old Vans to festivals now, since I've worn them to death. But when I saw these babies by Givenchy, I got a bit nostalgic. Plus, the colors and patterns are too cool. Imagine them with a pair of skinny jeans or with a pair of shorts. They're also a great option to wear for when it's still too cold to wear my Chanel espadrilles

You can get the Givenchy sneakers here,

P.S.: My mom hates them.

P.P.S.: SHARK ATTACK NEEDS YOUR HELP, Y'ALL! If you think that my blog deserves a Weekend Blog Award for 'Best Fashion Blog', you can nominate it here! All you have to do is press on the 'Nederlands'-button, fill in your last name (Naam), first name (Voornaam), e-mail, select a category (Categorie), give my blog's URL (URL van de blog) and write why you think my blog deserves to be nominated (Motivatie). It would mean the world to me! Thank you in advance. #Kiss

P.P.P.S.: My sister is selling her Marc Jacobs 'Ursula Bowler' bag, which is known from the campaign with Meg White from the White Stripes. If you're interested, you can have a look at it here.

New // Hey Chloé, you two look alike.

Photobucket
Jup, they're mine! Well, not the actual Chloé Susan boots (which I talked about here), but these lookalikes by Sacha, which will do just fine too. I'm not really the type to buy lookalikes / knock offs - Ugh, such an ugly word - but lets face it: € 850 for a pair of shoes is quite some money, especially if you're a student
and you don't have a steady job.

So, after stalking the people at Sacha on Twitter - with Kim as my shoe hunter in crime - we got THE tweet today: the booties are back in stores! As I was running to the Sacha store in Hasselt, Kim was on her way to the store in Brussels and we both managed to get our hands on a pair. I spent the last 15 minutes taking pictures of the shoes and staring at my feet, so I'm already warning you ... Be prepared to see them on the blog a lot. I'm already seeing a leather-overload-outfit in my mind. Aaaah, I'm so excited! I think I'm going to love them even more when they're totally worn off, giving them a vintage look. It's the same with my Acne Pistol boots. While my mom is always telling me that I have to clean them and protect them with black polish, I like the I've-already-had-these-shoes-for-20-years effect.

Being perfectly aware of the fact that many will hate these shoes, I have to say that I absolutely love them. They fit perfectly with my rock 'n roll mind and soul and I feel so bad ass wearing them. The buckles make noise while walking and I feel like one of those villains in the movie - You know, when they zoom in on the feet while they walk very slowly to let everybody know: I'm here!

Okay, my fantasy is taking over again, so I'm going to stop babbling before y'all go mental. I'm curious to hear your opinion about them.
What do you think?

Feature // Ella And Louise

Photobucket
Hey guys!

Time to show you a new feature, but guess what ... This time it's not me who got featured, but my sister Tiffany. She got featured on Ella And Louise, one of my favorite fashion blogs runned by Kim, Patricia and Marijs. 'The Story Of Her Shoes ...' I guess the title says it all. My sister talks about some of her favorite shoes and the story behind them. Let me tell ya, my sister's crazy when it comes to shoes. My favorite story is the one behind her Isabel Marant Willow sneakers. I'm not going to tell you what it's about, though. You can read it yourself HERE. Oh, and did I mention that I'm dying over her Louboutins in the first picture?

Do you have a crazy story about one of your pair of shoes? Did you spend your entire budget on a pair of boots, almost leaving you homeless and foodless after buying them? Or maybe you stalked every store in the country in order to find those perfect pair of pumps? Do share your stories in the comment box, I can't wait to hear them! :D

I'm on the hunt for a pair of booties right now, without any luck (for now). If you're a follower on Twitter, you might have an idea of which booties I'm talking about. You still don't know? Well, just click below...

Detail // Moschino Love

DSC05406
Moschino... Probably the first 'famous' brand I can remember.
Coming from an Italian family, fashion and looking neat and tidy has always been important and, patriotic as Italians are, my sister and I were always dressed in Italian brands such as Benetton and Moschino. When I was 3 years old, my mom bought me a dotted Moschino-dress for a party. Don't ask me how I did it, but I managed to rip the dress after wearing it for about 10 minutes (Sorry mom!).

My dad bought me these Moschino Love-sneakers on a trip to Sicily. I've had a hate / love-relationship with these shoes for years - I've only worn them once - but now that I found them again (hidden in the back of my closet) they're starting to grow on me. I know these sneakers are those type of shoes you either love or hate, so I'm extremely curious to know your thoughts. These are not what I usually wear, but I guess they're okay for a relaxing day doing nothing special.

P.S.: I've added a new section in the left bar of the blog called 'Agenda'. I thought it would be nice to let you know which events I'll attend the coming weeks. And I must admit that it's also a little reminder for myself. There are so many events / projects going on, that I tend to mess up my entire schedule!
