I've been a little MIA lately, since I spent the last 10 days in Crete with my boyfriend (who is making his blog debut in this post, hehe). Since we both worked full time for over a year, we wanted to go on an ultimate relax holiday, so I didn't want to bother him or myself with taking pictures using my big, heavy reflex camera. I did ask him to take some pictures of my poolside and evening looks, which I posted on my Instagram account and decided to do a little recap post here on the blog.

On the 3rd day of our trip, we decided to take it easy and to spend some time by the pool. I'm not one to sit and spent hours tanning and swimming - I'm more a Dora The Explorer kinda girl -, but I can handle it every once in a while. On day 4, we booked a boat trip to Capri. We initially thought that we would visit other islands as well, but there was some kind of a mix up. Anyway, Capri was so beautiful that we didn't even mind.
We booked the boat trip at our hotel. If you visit Sorrento, you will notice that there are a gazillion tourism offices where you can book all kind of trips. Try asking at your hotel first. The staff usually knows at least one person who organizes these trips as well and they might arrange a nice price for you.
First, we had a couple of hours to visit the Capri island itself. Seriously, how cool are those cabs? To get to the city centre or to Anacapri, you will need a cab; unless you love to walk zig zag, uphill streets in the blistering sun. The cab drivers will try to convince you to let him give you a tour through Capri. We did it and it's a nice way to discover the island, but it will cost you about 100 euros. The driver will always set a higher price, so don't be afraid to negotiate. These cabs can carry up to six persons, so you could divide the costs by six. We first stopped at Anacapri, which is located on top and has the best views and scenery. You will find tons of typical, touristic stores with all the local products and souvenirs. We then went to Capri's city centre, which is perfect if you love shopping and have a unlimited credit card. You will find all the luxury boutiques there.
We then took off by boat again to discover the Capri coast. The Blue Grotto is one of Capri's most famous attractions; because of sunlight passing through an underwater cavity, the water and cave are illuminated by the most gorgeous blue reflection. The entrance fee is usually NOT included in the trip. You will stop near the entrance with your boat, where you have to get into a tinier boat (usually navigated by the locals). They will bring you into the cave, you will get a minute or two to take a picture and then they bring you out. The entrance is very small, which explains the little white boats. A visit to the Blue Grotto will cost you about 13 euros, which you have to pay in cash to the guy that's navigating your boat. I wanted to go into the Blue Grotto, but nobody on our boat wanted to go with me so I didn't go, because I didn't want to let an entire boat wait for me. And now, I totally regret it. Silly me.
The trip continued and we also visited the Green Cave and the White Cave; both are free and very beautiful as well. We also stopped near the Faraglioni Rocks for a swim, which you might recognize from the Dolce & Gabbana 'Light Blue' commercial. We saw mountain goats, passed Sophia Loren's house, saw waterfalls and natural pools. Nature is unbelievable there.
If you're planning to visit Capri, I hope you'll find these tips helpful. The boat trip is something I would definitely recommend you to do. It was such a wonderful experience and I'm positive that even those who don't have a thing with nature will love it. On the second day of my stay in Italy, we visited the historic site of Pompei. I'm a huge history lover (I'm such a nerd) and seeing Pompei was definitely on my bucket list. We took the train to Naples at the Sorrento train station, which stops right next to Pompei. It's about half an hour by train from Sorrento to Pompei and you have to get off at the 'Pompei Scavi' stop.
Right before entering Pompei, you will be swamped by guides who want to show you the historic site. Since there are little to none signs with information about the buildings, etc. in Pompei, this could be a must... But only if you're willing to pay € 100 or more. If you do your research well before traveling to Pompei, you could save yourself a couple of bucks. And that research is very recommended, since Pompei is huge. We spent about 6 hours there and we still hadn't seen everything. And don't forget to protect yourself against the sun, because with little shadow there, you'll get yourself a sunburn before you know it.
I put some images of Pompei in the vlog, so if you're not a fan of history, you might have to skip some parts here and there. But I decided to narrow it down to only the most impressive things. It was too warm to carry around my heavy DSLR camera, so I left it at the hotel. A video does this place way more justice. I was left absolutely speechless when walking around in Pompei. There's a certain vibe to the place that will make you feel very little and humble. The fact that mankind could create such a beautiful city so long ago, with so little means, just baffles me.

Hello from sunny Italy! We arrived here two days ago and I have fallen in love with Sorrento already. Every time I visit Italy, I'm so proud to be Italian. The country has a way to capture my heart over and over again. I'm now sitting in my hotel room, after spending the morning at the pool. I finally managed to upload this video, since the WiFi-connection adapts to the Italian way of life sometimes: slow, without a hurry.
We arrived at the airport of Naples, rented a car and made our way to Sorrento. There was a storm in the evening, but it calmed down after an hour or so and then we went into the city centre to have dinner with some friends from Belgium who happened to be here on a trip as well. Yesterday, we visited Pompei, which was on my bucket list for ages. One of my dreams came true and I couldn't be happier. You'll see all about it in my next video (I don't know when that one will be online... Like I said: slow WiFi).

I apologize for staying away from the blog for such a long time. During my absence, I went on a trip to Italy with my best friend to visit two of our ex-colleagues who are studying Italian. It was the perfect break to re-charge my batteries and was exactly what I needed. During our stay, we went on a road trip to Monaco, which only took us 45 minutes by car to get there. I've been wanting to go to Monaco for as long as I can remember and it's even better in real life.
Some of the highlights... Or lowlights, call it whatever you want:
* Paying 7 euros for a Coca Cola;
* Standing in front of the Hotel de Paris to see al the Ferraris, Bentleys, Rolls Royces, Porches... (you get the picture) drive up and down;
* Dario insulting a local by saying that he didn't like the royal palace -- if looks could kill;
* Feeling like an outsider with my Longchamp bag and cursing myself for not bringing my Chanel bag with me. My mom made me paranoid by saying I'd lose the bag with my luggage at the airport or would forget it somewhere;
* Drooling over all the pretty Chanel Boy bags;
* Chilling at Life Club;
* Hoping I'd bump into Pierre Casiraghi, without any luck;
* People watching at Café de Paris;
* Deciding it was probably best not to go to the Monte Carlo Casino;
* Laughing at Dario who played a paparazzo, hiding behind every trash can and yelling: "OH MY GOD, IT'S KRIZIA THE FASHION BLOGGER" from time to time.

Sooo, this happened during my holiday here in Italy. Remember my previous post, where I told you I was meeting up with 2 friends from Belgium? Something funny happened that night and while we were still laughing about it, I slipped and broke my ankle. Apparently, I can't laugh and walk at the same time. I was wearing my Chloé Susan boots and it's actually the second time I fell while wearing them, because the sole is so slippy. I definitely learned my lesson. Should I sue them? Just kidding, because I love those shoes to death. The first thing I thought was: "Oh my God, are my Chloé shoes okay???" Until my friend asked me: "Are you in pain?" And I was like: "Yeah, acutally I am!"
The picture above was taken right before I went to the hospital. I got all dressed up, explaining to my mom that I might bump into a Dr. McDreamy or Dr. McSteamy. Well, that didn't happen and we ended up sitting in the First Aid waiting room from 10.30 am 'till 6 pm. Italian hospitals are the worst and you have to pray that you don't end up there during your holiday. I rented some crutches and a wheel chair, but the doctor told me to stay inside and keep my leg still. That's why, as stated in this post's title, I lost count of which day we are today. Anyway, here are some snaps of when I was being a rebel and went outside.
The reason why I skipped 2 days of photographs is because I was stuck inside, collecting votes for the competition in which I could win a vintage Chanel-bag. My best friend Dario spent 3 days at my aunt's restaurant back in Belgium, asking every single client that entered to vote for me. He's such a sweetheart and I bought him a nice Thank You-gift, but I can't tell you what it is, because he reads my blog! I ended 2nd in the competition and I want to thank everyone who voted for me!
We went to Meletti to drink a crodino yesterday, which is a 100-year-old bar and used to belong to the Meletti family, famous for their anisette. After that, we went straight home. It started to rain again, so it wasn't fun to stay outside.
P.S.: Sorry for the repetitive bag and shoes. Flying with Ryanair comes with tons of restrictions, so I hate to limit myself to one bag and two pair of shoes (my Chloé boots and Chanel espedrilles). A nightmare for every blogger!
Yes, I'm finally here again with my mom and my sister. I haven't had the chance to visit my family for 10 years, so it definitely feels good to be back. I'm staying at my mom's cousin's house and I'm glad I'll be able to update the blog during my stay, even if it takes forever with the slow Internet connection.
My family lives in Ascoli Piceno, a medieval city located in the middle of Italy's east coast. During our arrival and the first part of our first day here (which is today) it was warm and sunny, but now it's raining cats and dogs. We went for a walk around the city and it feels surreal to be here again. Plus, as a history lover, it's perfect to be surrounded by Roman bridges and medieval buildings. I already ate too much, by the way: white pizza with corn, stuffed olives (olive ascolane), risotto, frozen yoghurt, mini pizza on the go and we still have dinner tonight.
I already tried to snap as many pictures as possible. I'm so proud to show you the beautiful city I can call my temporary home again.

After coming back from Milan, I took off to Luxembourg with my boyfriend for the weekend. I didn't know what to expect, since I didn't know much about the country and city (only that gas and cigarettes are quite cheap there). After spending two days in Luxembourg city, I think it's safe to say that I completely fell in love with the place.
The combination of churches, castles, forests and houses looking as if they could be toy doll houses, turns this city into a picturesque place to stay at. It felt as if we went back in time. The only thing I can do is to recommend everyone to visit this beautiful city.

I'm back from my city trip to Milan! It felt amazing to be back in Italy. I hadn't been there for years and neither did my mom. She has to take care of my grandfather, so it's hard for her to go on a holiday. It was so emotional to see her enjoy even the simplest of things. This break was exactly what she needed, even if it was for only three days.
I didn't take a lot of pictures... I was too busy shopping and doing other things, that I didn't even think about my camera. I'm a bad blogger, I know. As for the outfits I was wearing: don't expect too much. As some of you may know, I fell and hurt my knee kinda bad, so I couldn't wear any jeans. I was obliged to wear leggings and T-shirts during the entire trip.
Anyway, we did tons of shopping and when we wanted to visit the Duomo - which was the only 'cultural' thing we were into visiting - my sister wasn't allowed to enter because her skirt was too short. We had a good laugh about it: with all the pedophiles and scandals surrounding the Catholic Church, they're going to make a scene about a skirt that's too short? Ah well, we aren't religious anyway, but my mom really wanted to see the Duomo from the inside. Bummer.

Since I should be officially done with school - I'm getting my grades on 5th of September, I'm sooo nervous - and I haven't had a proper holiday in nearly 5 years due to re-examinations and all, my mom, sister, brother-in-law and I decided to book a city trip to Milan next week. I haven't been in Milan for years and I'm so happy to go back for 3 days filled with food, shopping, strolling around and doing whatever we feel like doing.
But now, I need your help... I'm not really familiar with Milan, except for the Duomo and the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, so if you have any tips on where to eat / drink / shop / ..., drop a comment in the comment box below.
