Shark Attack Loves ... // Choupette At The Beach

Choupette2
Karl Lagerfeld's pet cat is without a doubt the most fashion kitty in history: from Vogue covers and editorials to multiple nannies and iPads, Choupette has it all. Now that Karl has dedicated an entire beachwear collection to her, Choupette has yet another big achievement to add to her already impressive resumé.

It's been raining cats (lol) and dogs here in Belgium for the past couple of days, so this cheerful summer collection was a nice welcome into my mailbox. I'm loving the bold, colorful prints and anything with kitties on it will do for me, so that's always a plus. Luckily, we have a Karl Lagerfeld store in Antwerp, so I can't wait to stop by ASAP. I won't be able to leave for a holiday with my boyfriend until September, but I think I'll already add some items to my closet already.

Find out my favorite items and their prices after the jump.

Shark Attack Loves ... // River Island Spring '16 Pink Jacket

RiverIslandJacket
Winter doesn't exist in my book or closet. Never has, never will. So ever since the snow has (unfortunately) reached Belgium since a couple of days, I've been mentally skipping winter and all synonyms involved by already browsing for possible spring or summer collections. Doing so, I bumped into this amazing baby pink / black jacket by River Island.

The color palette, the half leather / half suede (?) parts, ... Loves it! Owning about a dozen black leather jackets, this one would be a welcomed change into my wardrobe. I can already see myself pairing it with a simple tee, black skinny jeans or leather pants and a pair of big, black sunglasses -- y'all know the girlie thing isn't my style. Thoughts?

Available from February 2016.

Shark Attack Loves ... // O'Rèn #TEAMBELGIUM Collection

Orèn1
Orèn2
If it glitters, it's a yes. If it represents your teeny tiny - but awesome - country as well, it's a double yes! You may have heard of Belgium for its waffles, French Belgian fries and national football team, but let me introduce you to the newest kid on the block: O'rèn. The brand has already conquered the Belgian fashion scene with their first - but quickly sold out - collection and just recently dropped a follow up, called #TEAMBELGIUM.

O'rèn knows not to change a winning team and decided to stick with their well known sequined parts and slogans. The #TEAMBELGIUM collection is a mix of old and new slogans, plus some other novelties such as the shopping bag, the baseball T-shirts and the ripped jeans. The sequined sweaters are perfect to add a casual chic touch to your look!

This collection is selling out quickly once again, so if you want to snatch an item in time for the holidays, I suggest you make your move now.

Which one is your favorite?

Shark Attack Loves... // Anecdote

Anecdote13
It's hard to accept that fall and winter are coming, but since I'm stuck to the couch with a huge cold, I think it's time to (very) slowly say goodbye to my easy breezy clothes. Finding and wearing winter clothes that I like have always been an issue for me; they make me feel trapped, make me feel claustrophobic and I just really do not like all the brown shades overload once the F/W collections hit the stores.

That's why I was very, very happy to discover Anecdote: a Dutch brand that caught my attention immediately. They're all about clean silhouettes, the perfect balance between the masculine and the feminine, the ultimate basics... Anecdote works with tons of wool and a touch of silk, linen, cotton and denim, so the items are definitely worth the investment. Too bad that I can't find the black booties on their website, because those babies are going onto my wish list as well. Off topic: how insanely gorgeous is their model? It makes me want to dye my hair in a heartbeat.

Anecdote is only available at their store in Amsterdam (perfect excuse for a citytrip) and on their website. I opt for more selling points ASAP!

Shark Attack Loves... // Primark Summer 2015

PrimarkSummer154
Now that summer is almost upon us, my inbox is exploding with the press releases of the newest summer collections. One of them caught my eye immediately... the Primark Summer 2015 collection! Since the nearest store is about an hour drive away from here, I don't go shopping there very often; which I always regret, because I see tons of cute Primark stuff on other blogs. That's why I'm thrilled to say that a Primark store will open in Hasselt, close to my home town, very soon!

Anyway, it's time to go back to the main topic of this blogpost. Primark's summer collection is divided into two themes: Desert Dreamer (imagine a bohemian girl living in the 70s) and Ibiza Surf (aka the cutest beach wear I have seen in a long time and very Ibiza proof indeed). Fringe, lace, colorful prints... Primark had some themes in mind and went for them 100%. For the moment, there's nothing I can do other than crossing my fingers and hoping that the store in Hasselt will open soon and that I will be able to score my favorite items. Or I might have to plan a trip to Liège after all.

I thought it would be fun to share my favorite images and looks of the collection on the blog; it's always fun to discover (and hopefully score) a wish listed item or to get inspired for this summer, isn't it? My favorite items is the brick red dress in the picture above, the white lace see through dress, the black fringed skirt and top and the gorgeous playsuit with lace 'wings'. Love!

Shark Attack Loves... // Eleven Paris 'Family Capsule' Collection

Leave it to Eleven Paris to always add one extra item to my wish list from the moment their new collections hit my mailbox. Founded in 2011, the French brand has conquered the whole world with their funny slogans and cool prints -- and my heart as well with this dope Homer Simpson shirt. Their vision is to never take the celebs too seriously and to never be taken seriously yourself as well. As they like to say it: Life is a joke.

Their newest collection, called Family Capsule, focuses on celebrities and their statuses within your family. Kate Moss, Coco Chanel, Mike Tyson, Kanye West, Iggy Pop, Christian Grey and more all made the cut. Even though I consider myself an atheist, I do come close to worshipping Kate. And to have Karl Lagerfeld as a dad? I can't even! I love my father to bits and wouldn't want to trade him for anything in this world, so I will take Karl as a godfather instead, if that's okay.

The Eleven Paris 'Family Capsule collection is unisex and will be launched in mid-April.

Which T-shirt is your favorite? Or would you adopt another celebrity instead?

Shark Attack Loves... // Essentiel S/S '15 Shark Clutch

EssentielSS15SharkClutch
There I am, laying on the couch battling the WORST. COLD. EVER., when I receive a press mail in my inbox introducing the newest Essentiel S/S '15 Flash collection named Can't Talk, Gone Fishing. I have always loved Essentiel for their fun prints, bright colors and excessive use of rhinestones and sequins and I love them even more now... Because they have a Shark clutch!

Judging by the name of my blog, it's needless to explain why I'm so excited -- but I'm going to do it anyway in a nutshell: I love sharks because they have been roaming the oceans and seas for millions of years, they are some fierce creatures and unfortunately often very misunderstood. It's my dream to swim with them one day. Anyway, this isn't a biology blog so I'm going to shut up now.

Conclusion: this clutch, I need.

The Flash collection will be available from 18/04 in all Essentiel boutiques and online

Shark Attack Loves ... // Polette 'Vogue' Sunglasses

PoletteVogue2
Pardon me for the grumpy face, but these pictures were taken on New Year's Day aka the day in which I came home at 6 in the morning from celebrating New Year's Eve. The gentle winter sun shining that day and the huge bags under my eyes, were the perfect opportunity to take out my new sunglasses from Polette, a French online optician.

As a fashion blogger, I'm always interested in discovering and collaborating with new brands. So, when the Polette PR team approached me with the company's concept and history, I have to say that I was quite intrigued. Polette was founded by Pierre Wizman, an entrepreneur who decided to leave school and start his own company at the age of 16. The team behind Polette try to distinguish their company from others by functioning as the only intermediate between the factory and the customer, which gives them the opportunity to sell their (sun)glasses at low prices, without affecting the quality of the goods. All of this makes them quite a market leader in France. Thumbs up for young talent!

Sunglasses have always been one of my addictions (next to lipsticks and shoes) and I love to go for the more bolder types. Polette offers more than 900 designs, needless to say that it was hard to pick just one, but I decided to go for their Vogue sunglasses. I love the shape, the printed frame and the see through, yet tinted glasses which seem to give the glasses a vintage touch.

What do you think of my new sunnies?

Shark Attack Loves... // Grey Hair

GreyHair Photo // Tumblr

I've been brainstorming on a new hairdo and / or hair color for a couple of months now, but I've still been undecided. It can be quite frustrating to think of something new if you've had every (hair) color of the rainbow -- literally; just click HERE to see an example. My parents have never limited me in my looks and trying out new and different things with it, something I still thank them for and will pass on to my children.

Anyway, I was browsing around Tumblr to soak up some inspiration, when I stumbled upon the best hair color I've seen in a long time. How insanely gorgeous is that grey hairdo? I'm already imagining myself with it, but there are some things that I have to keep in consideration -- boo!

Here are some tips for you to keep in mind if you're thinking about going for some drastic hair color changes:

* School / Work: First there was school I had to think about, now it's work. Aside from the blog, I'm also working as a part time sales assistant. Are they allowing their employees to dye their hair grey, even if you can't really consider as an unnatural color? How will customers react when they are being helped by a 24-year-old with grey hair? I'm usually not one to care about what others think about the way I look, but it's work, so I don't really have a choice.

* Colorist: It takes a top colorist to get to that shade of grey pictured above and even though all hairdressers know how to color hair, I trust only one with mine. It's the same colorist who successfully created the dip and dye I mentioned before and even though I'm pretty sure she can pull it off, I still need to talk about it with her first (if I'm even getting my hair dyed, that is). To me, it's important to have a one-on-one brainstorming session with my colorist first, going over all of the options, discussing certain problems that might occur and so on.

* Hair: To achieve the color in the picture, there's no doubt that a lot of work will have to be done. This might be an issue that you might want to talk to your colorist about; as mentioned above. If your hair is thin, vulnerable and sensitive, would it be a good idea to put it through that amount of bleaching and dyeing? Because lets face it: there's no use in having the color you want on hair that's as dry and lifeless as the Sahara desert. Know your hair before you put it through - sometimes - unnecessary and damaging scenarios, with unsatisfying results in the end.

* Budget: Since there's no way in hell that you're going to hair like that with a DIY (Do It Yourself) kit... A professional colorist will, without a doubt, have to step into the scene and we all know that they come with a certain price tag. Also keep in mind that you will have to get your roots retouched every couple of weeks and that you most certainly will have to purchase some hair products to repair your hair from all the damage; just think about special shampoos, conditioners, hair masks... Is it something you can handle financially? Even though we all like ourselves some pretty hair, going bankrupt isn't what you're going for.

So, what do you think about grey hair before you're in your fifties? I'm pro grey with this one (and 50 Shades Of Grey has nothing to do with it). I'm dying to hear your thoughts about this topic, so leave them in the comment box below!

P.S.: There's still time to enter the € 100 ASOS give away HERE.

Shark Attack Loves... // Labelcrush.com

Collage1
It's time to introduce you a new Belgian hotspot on the World Wide Web: Labelcrush.com!

LabelCRUSH is an online platform where you can sell your preloved and good-as-new clothes, shoes, bags, jewelry -- well, you get the picture. However, this website is different from other vintage selling websites and shops. Why?

- If you're interested in selling an item from your closet, you can decide the price you want to sell it for yourself. Plus, you can change the price whenever you want. It happens often that the owners of the vintage selling website or shop set the price your item will be sold for.

- The team behind LabelCRUSH don't get a penny if you sell an item. Most owners ask a commission whenever an item from their website or shop has been sold (a 20 % commission, for example). The only thing you have to pay for at LabelCRUSH, is to get your item online. These prices are nothing compared to the commission of a sold item; do you prefer to pay a couple of euros to advertise your item or to hand over 100 euros or more as a commission? Yes, I think so too. You can find all advertising prices here

I've been browsing the web shop for the past hour now and I've seen so many items I'd love to add to my wardrobe. Unfortunately, a lot of them are sold out already. You have to be very quick to get your hands on the item you want on the LabelCRUSH website. To avoid this from happening, you can become a VIP Member. This will give you the privilege to see and purchase all new arrivals 48 hours before the non VIP Members can. Pretty cool, right?

Sold out or not, I decided to make a collage for you anyway. Nothing wrong with a bit of eye candy. My wallet isn't cutting me any slack at the moment, so I'm thinking of selling some of my designer items via LabelCRUSH myself. If I do, I'll let y'all know, of course!

Now, to be redirected to the items in the collage above, click on the links below:

Shark Attack Loves... // Chloé 'Carlina' Sunglasses

Chloé
Did you ever look at Nicole Richie or the Olsen twins and thought that their sunglasses couldn't get any bigger? Well, think again. Meet 'Carlina', the star of Chloé's S/S '14 campaign. I have a feeling some of you will love her and many of you will hate her.

Big and dramatic vs. light and delicate. Total opposites and yet the perfect synonyms to describe Carlina. Even though Julia Stegner and Lou Doillon look fabulous in the shot above, they're not the real star here. How I would fit her into my looks? I'm thinking maxi dresses or denim shorts with a tank top, espadrilles and a fedora hat (preferably on the beaches of Ibiza). Or how about combining her with skinny jeans, a blazer and ballerina flats or heels for a day of meetings? To me, it's all possible. I'll definitely keep my eyes open for this one, now all I have to do is find her and hope she looks good in my company. ;)

I can't wait to read your thoughts on these sunnies.
Hit or miss?

The Chloé 'Carlina' sunglasses will be hitting Chloé boutiques and selected opticians in March 2014.
There will be 5 colors available.
Price: € 245

Shark Attack Loves... // Cadeaubox.be

DSC05699
I wanted to take the time to write to you about one of my most favorite ways of giving gifts, since I suck at it -- big time. Every time the holidays or a birthday is coming up, I switch to panic mode when I start to brainstorm about which gift would be best to give. Anyone else who's feeling me here?

When the sweet team behind Cadeaubox.be asked me if I wanted to try out their services, I replied with a loud and clear "Hell yes!". They offer gift boxes for all occasions, literally. Plus, their concept and way of working are easy peasy:

- You surf to Cadeaubox.be.
- Pick out the category you prefer >> Action & Lifestyle, Culinary, Weekend ...
- Choose the gift box that's most suitable for the person you want to give it to. The options are endless: you could pick the 'Thank You' gift box, for that special someone who has done something extraordinary for you. Or you could surprise your best friend with a 'Friends Moment' box, which contains tons of activities for some extra bonding time between you and your best friend(s). Looking for a gift box to give to someone who likes to go out for a nice dinner? Check! Or do you want to surprise your loved one with a weekend getaway. Double check! You'll definitely find something suitable for every occasion.
- Put the gift box of your choice in your shopping cart.
- Pay for it.
- Click it home and wait for it to arrive.

Since I'm a total bookworm (Books, comics, magazines... You name it, I'll read it), I went for the 'Newspapers & Magazines' gift box. You've probably already guessed it: this gift box gives you the opportunity to get a subscription on one of your favorite newspapers or magazines. How long the subscription lasts, depends on which magazine or newspaper you choose.

I decided to get a subscription on Elle Belgium, since it's one of my favorite magazines and, well, it couldn't hurt to get a monthly update on everything fashion related as a fashion blogger. I got my first copies this month and it's the perfect excuse to plan some me-time in between blogging and working.

Conclusion?

My I-can't-find-the-perfect-gift-moments are totally over. You could never ever go wrong with this one, since the person you give this gift box to will eventually pick out the actual gift himself / herself. Thumbs up!

P.S.: The Cadeaubox.be gift boxes are only available in Belgium, but I'm sure that tons of countries have companies that offer the same concept. So if you're one of my foreign readers, just hit Google and you'll definitely find something similar for your country!

Shark Attack Loves... // Emma Watson In Christian Dior @ The Golden Globes 2014

EmmaWatson Photo: Tumblr

I'm usually not one to go crazy over pretty gowns and dresses at award shows, not because I don't like them, but because there usually isn't anything excited or refreshing going on there. The same happened while watching a recap of the Golden Globes 2014 show - even though I don't think that Jennifer Lawrence's dress was that bad, not bad at all, actually.

And then Emma Watson walked down the red carpet in Christian Dior. I saw the front of the dress and was like: "Yawn, nice color, but that's about it." And then she turned around. The sexy, but classy, open back. The black skinny trousers underneath. This I like. Of course, Emma's getting a lot of criticism through social media (surprise!). I'm sure she sticked to the dress code, she just decided to add her own personal twist to it. Who ever said that there are rules in fashion? To me, fashion is all about experimenting, doing your own thing, expressing your personality and so much more. Just wear what you like and like what you wear.

What are your thoughts on this look?

Shark Attack Loves... // The Cointreaupolitan Star

We all have seen Carrie Bradshaw & Co. drinking Cosmopolitans as if it was water. Forget about that, there's a new cocktail that, I think, will take over that top position.

I wanted to introduce you the Cointreaupolitan Star. The Cointreaupolitan Star will be presented at the Festival of Cannes, to give that little extra to the celebrities that will be strolling around there. The Festival will start at the 12th of May and will end the 23rd of May.

You'll probably be thinking:

'Why the hell is she writing about a cocktail?'

It was the picture of the cocktail that convinced me to write this post. First of all, it is served in the pretty Cosmopolitan / Cointreaupolitan-glasses, which I have always loved. I always wanted the Swarovski ones!

Plus, the cocktail is pink - I'm a girl & I love pink... And last but not least, the glass is decorated with feathers and golden glitters. Yes, for real, golden glitters!!! Just take a look at the picture and you'll know what I mean.

Since not all of us are so lucky to be invited to the Festival of Cannes, there are other options available. You can also taste the Cointreaupolitan Star at l'Axess in Brussels. You could perfectly combine it with a shopping city trip! :)

I rarely drink alcohol, but I'd be willing to make an exception for this! Then again, I'd probably be holding the drink all night long and not drink it, just because it looks so pretty...

Fashion Show // Louis Vuitton RTW F/W 2010

Paris Fashion Week is coming to an end and Marc Jacobs had the honour to close off the Fall fashion shows with Louis Vuitton. When I saw the models strutting the runway, the first thing that popped up in my mind was:

'They look like modern Grease girls!'

Grease has always been one of my favourite movies, not only for the catchy songs, but also for the clothes they're wearing. And, I must admit, John Travolta looked damn good during the Grease period!

Another thing I loved, was the fact that Mr. Jacobs chose beautifully curved models to show the pieces. He even picked some Victoria Secret-models, such as Adriana Lima and Alessandra Ambrosio. The last model to come up the runway was Elle Macpherson, a.k.a. The Body, and I must say: She looks absolutely stunning!

P.S.: Is that Pixie Geldof sitting front row???

Click below to see my favorite looks.

Shark Attack Loves... // Men With Birkins

I guess Victoria Beckham isn't the only one who's into Birkin bags.

Check out Marc Jacobs and Pharrell Williams with their very own babies. I mean... How cool is this? No way these men would ever give you a lecture for spending too much money on bags!

And by the way...

Dear Mr. Pharrell Williams...
The Hermès Birkin bag was NOT made for you to step on. Please take your feet off that beautiful treasure or hand it over. And you can take that grin off your face, we can see for ourselves that you're holding two Birkins at the same time.

Shark Attack Loves... // Chanel Temporary Tattoos

I was reading Elle when I saw these temporary Chanel tattoos. I know I saw them at the fashion show, but I didn't really pay them that much attention at the time. I think they're kinda cute, though I'm not sure if I would want them myself. I have read that the tattoos available starting from March in the Chanel-stores and they cost 50 euros for a box with 50 tattoos.
