Event // Customisez-Moi: Backstage + Show

Last Friday, I took a break from all the preparations for my internship and went to Brussels for the Customisez-Moi fashion show. I had a great time hanging out with some fellow bloggers / friends whom I hadn't seen for a very long time.

Remember when I told you about a collaboration for Coca Cola Light? Well, I'll tell you more about it once I get all the details myself, but this event had something to do with it. Customisez-Moi offers young and upcoming designers the chance to show their talent and designs. Besides the main collection, some designers also designed different silhouettes with all kinds of Coca Cola Light-materials.

We got the chance to go backstage and preview the Coca Cola Light-collection and also got some front row seats at the fashion show. Backstage pictures are always fun and front row seats just mean better pictures -- Not that my photographic skills that great, front row or not. ;)

Fashion Show // Louis Vuitton RTW F/W 2010

Paris Fashion Week is coming to an end and Marc Jacobs had the honour to close off the Fall fashion shows with Louis Vuitton. When I saw the models strutting the runway, the first thing that popped up in my mind was:

'They look like modern Grease girls!'

Grease has always been one of my favourite movies, not only for the catchy songs, but also for the clothes they're wearing. And, I must admit, John Travolta looked damn good during the Grease period!

Another thing I loved, was the fact that Mr. Jacobs chose beautifully curved models to show the pieces. He even picked some Victoria Secret-models, such as Adriana Lima and Alessandra Ambrosio. The last model to come up the runway was Elle Macpherson, a.k.a. The Body, and I must say: She looks absolutely stunning!

Fashion Show // Balmain RTW F/W 2010

It's useless to say that I love Balmain jackets, I think that everyone will agree. I was holding a Balmain jacket when I was in Antwerp a couple of weeks ago - I loved it, but I put it back when I saw the price tag. They're just a little too much for my budget. But a girl can dream, right? So, here are a few pictures of the Fall 2010 RTW-show. These outfits are my favourites, even though it was a hard decision to pick them out. I love the Prince / Jimi Hendrix-jackets and the sequined dresses. Balmain sure knows how to design some stunning pieces!

Good job, Mr. Decarnin, good job!

Fashion Show // Burberry Prorsum RTW S/S 2010

Christopher Baily has done it again...

I absolutely LOVED the Burberry Prorsum Spring 2010 RTW Collection. The colours, the drapery, the fabrics, the pouffy sleeves and shoulders on the trenches, ... - I love it!

Watching the trenches, I just realised that my Burberry trench is nothing compared to the beauties in the show. Although, some of the trench coats could rather be called 'trench dresses'. Speaking about the dresses, they make me long for summer even more! They're so cute and lady-like, my only concern is that my body would not have the right proportions to be wearing such draped dresses and that those soft pastel colours would not be right for my skin tone. And I'm still not sure about the socks-in-sandals-look...

Fashion Show // Vivienne Westwood F/W 2010 Menswear

I really liked Vivienne Westwood's menswear fashion show at the Milan Fashion Week. The models looked like homeless people - cute homeless people, that is.

Vivienne wanted to send out a message to the world saying that if we don't do something to stop the climate changes, millions of people of the next generation will be homeless. She talked about the earthquake in Haïti as an example, saying that she knows that it's a disaster caused by nature, but that there will be more to come if the climate keeps changing like the way it is changing right now.

And she's right, whether we like it or not! It's nice to know that Vivienne uses her 'influence' to make people aware of what's going on with our planet. She's always been one of my favourite designers, due to the fact she designed outfits for the Sex Pistols (one of my favourite bands), but I love her even more now!

Another thing I like about Vivienne Westwood's shows, is the fact that the models can have some fun while being on the runway. You'll see some examples in the video, like the two models who run into each other and look like they're about to fight. I also posted 'some' of my favourite outfits of the show.

It's a big post, but I think that isn't so bad, since the show contains a meaningful message!

Fashion Show // Luella S/S 2010

I was clicking around on style.com , when I bumped into Luella's RTW Spring 2010-show. I don't like all the designs,but a couple off them popped out. Those models look like a cotton candy Pebbles Flinstone, don't you think? And I love their eyeshadow, but a little voice keeps telling me I would look like a total idiot if I would try it out myself.

Fashion Show // Alexander McQueen S/S 2010

I was watching Alexander McQueen's S/S 2010 fashion show & I was absolutely stunned. This isn't fashion anymore, it's simply art. The models don't even look like they're human. They're so beautiful. As for the shoes: come to momma!
