Money VS Budget // Miu Miu VS Zara

MiuMiuVSZara
In the Money VS Budget-category, we search for affordable options on runway items. However, we look for items that were inspired by the runway, not copied. We respect the designers, the brands and their creativity and do not support identical knock offs in any way.

If you follow me on Instagram, you've probably already seen that I already added the Zara ballerina to my shoe closet. I'm planning to move in with my boyfriend ASAP, so expensive shoes aren't going to be my priority for a while. Aah, the perks of being a grown up, lol. I've been eyeing the Miu Miu ballerina's for quite some time now, but I went for the Zara ones instead; they're a great interpretation of the real deal. I'm thinking about buying ribbons as well, so I can have a little DIY project.

My sister and best friend hate them, my mom and boyfriend think they're cute and my dad... Well, he tries to keep himself out of things. What do you think? Sound off in the comment box below!

SHOP THEM HERE:

You can get the Miu Miu ballerina's at My Theresa; the black ones are sold out, but they have many other options. And you can find the budget ones on the Zara website.

Money VS Budget // Dior VS Zara

MoneyVSBudgetDiorZara
It's been a while since the last Money VS Budget post, but when I saw these black patent ankle boots with translucent heel at Zara, they immediately reminded me of the boots starring in the Dior Fall '15 fashion show. I couldn't find any prices on the Dior boots; they weren't mentioned on their website. So I guess it's best to visit a Dior store if you want to go for the real deal.

For more info about the Dior boots, go to their website or to your nearest Dior store.
You can shop the Zara boots on their website.

Money VS Budget // Céline VS H&M

CélineVSHM
I spotted this round gold hair clip at H&M and it immediately reminded me of the models' hair during the Céline S/S 2015 show. There are multiple valid reasons why this accessory would be a justified purchase:

- You don't need major skills in the hair department to nail this look.
- It will make every bad hair day disappear.
- This look will cost you only 1 minute of your time.
- It's the perfect look for every occasion.
- You will look like a Céline model. Enough said.

I searched the entire web, but I never found any details on if the Céline clip was ever for sale. On another note: the H&M clip could be yours for only € 3,99 / $ 4,99. You can find it in stores or on their website.

What do you think about this look?
Is it something you would do with your hair?

Money VS Budget // Chloé VS New Look

ChloéVSNewLook
I've been eyeing Chloé's Drew bag for quite a while now, but unfortunately, my bank account won't allow me to spend 1200 bucks at once. One of my favorite bloggers posted a shop log on YouTube and when she showed her new New Look bag, a new Money VS Budget post was born! As you may know, I only show cheaper items which were inspired on an it-item and aren't an exact copy. And the New Look bag is exactly that, isn't it? Plus, it comes in other fun, summer proof colors as well.

You can shop the New Look bag HERE and the Chloé Drew bag below:

Money VS Budget // Gianvito Rossi VS Zara

GianvitoRossiVSZara
Finally a new 'Money VS Budget' post!

The slingbacks aka mules are slowly (but surely) making their entrance into the fashion scene again. I have loved them ever since I saw Grease for the first time -- Sandy is wearing red mules when she transforms into Bad Sandy in the final dancing / music scene. Most of you know that I broke my ankle last year and wearing heels still causes some trouble and pain from time to time. That being said, I don't think that mules are the best shoe to walk on in such a situation. #Sad

What do you think about the mules' comeback?
And if you own a pair, tell me: are they comfortable to walk in?

Money VS Budget // Giuseppe Zanotti VS Zara

ZanottiZara
During a shopping spree in Antwerp, I spotted these zipped leather beauties at Zara and immediately linked them to the Giuseppe Zanotti's on the left. Similar, yet different, just the way we like it. My mom would have killed me if I bought another pair of shoes, so I decided not to take them with me. I was proud of myself first but looking back at them now, doubt is starting to set in... No, I have to be strong!

* Get the budget version from Zara here.
* Or go for the real deal at LuisaViaRoma here. Plus, they're on sale! They used to be € 875 and they can be yours for € 612. And there's free shipping. Yay!

Money VS Budget // Dolce & Gabbana VS H&M

DolceHM
I came across these gorgeous lace ankle boots at the H&M in Dusseldorf two days ago. Getting a Dolce & Gabbana-flashback, I immediately took them home with me. They are very comfortable -- I wore them to my aunt's birthday party yesterday and my feet didn't hurt a bit.

I combined them with a pencil skirt and silk blouse yesterday and I can't wait to see how they look with a pair of skinny jeans or a (lace) dress. It's been a while since I've been this excited about a pair of shoes. The lace pattern make them look like a pair of designer booties, don't you think?

Go for the original Dolce & Gabbana's here or get the budget friendly version by H&M here.

Money VS Budget // Valentino VS Michael Kors

 photo CollageValentinoMK_zps7ca98ea4.jpg
The idea for this Money VS Budget-post came to mind when I was carrying around my Valentino 'Rockstud Trapeze' bag (the one pictured above) and I saw someone wearing the Michael Kors 'Selma Studs Saffiano' bag (also pictured above). The Valentino was gifted to me by the ever so sweet people at Verso, but I can imagine that a whopping € 1390 isn't the obvious option for everyone. I think the Michael Kors one is a perfect replacement.

What do you think?

Money VS Budget // Kenzo VS H&M

 photo CollageTiger_zps985c2583.jpg
The Kenzo-sweaters with the famous tiger head print have been dominating the fashion scene for a while now. From fashion bloggers to fashion editors, they all fell tiger head over heels for them. As it happens with all it-items, high street labels quickly started to sell their own version. I thought the hype would be over by now, but if it's up to the designers at H&M, this wild trend is here to stay for a bit longer.

With the original Kenzo-sweater being sold out pretty much everywhere, you can pick up the budget friendlier version at H&M or online HERE.

Money VS Budget // Nicholas Kirkwood VS Zara

 photo CollageNicholasZara_zps1442daa0.jpg
When I spotted these colorful lace-up sandals at Zara, I immediately thought of the Nicholas Kirkwood for Peter Pilotto-collaboration. It's clear that Zara's designers took inspiration from the collection - laces in the front, zipper in the back, cut out shapes plus the black and white pattern - but it's not an exact copy. Just the way we like it, right?

* Shop the Nicholas Kirkwood for Peter Pilotto shoes here
* Shop the Zara shoes here.

Money VS Budget // Jil Sander VS Zara

 photo JilVSZaraJuist_zps41c6d143.jpg
The Jil Sander F/W 2012 Men's Collection was one of my favorites - black, leather, what's new? - and the leather lunch bag was one of the items that caught my attention from the very start. Today, I was browsing the Zara website and I stumbled upon a similar version - at the women's section - and a new Money VS Budget-post was born.

I'm definitely going to keep an eye on the Zara version, since - surprise, surprise - the Jil Sander one is sold out at Mr. Porter. Who knew so many men buy designer items online? I found the women's version at Luisa Via Roma, but the one pictured above is my all time favorite.

What's your opinion? Yay or nay?
I'm kinda bummed I'm not in (high)school anymore. I have a feeling this item would've sent me straight into the popular group.

Get the Jil Sander women's version a.k.a. € 480 HERE.
Or go for the budget friendly version by Zara a.k.a. € 25,95 HERE.

Money VS Budget // Kourtney Kardashian VS Krizia Schiavone

 photo KourtneyVsKriziaJuist_zps8d01f80d.jpg
I was watching one of the new episodes of 'Kourtney & Kim Take Miami' and I couldn't help but wonder if Kourtney Kardashian might read Shark Attack - Fashion Blog...
Lol, just kidding. It was too funny not to post about it. Blue turban, the same Prada Baroque-sunnies... Talk about a déjà vu-moment! Sorry, I just had to. Little inside joke. I love the Kardashians, no joke. Khloé is my favorite K, though. She's fun, open minded and easy going. Kourtney, on the other hand, breeds some damn adorable kiddos. Mason is such a handsome little boy!

The next 'Money VS Budget'-post will be a serious one again. I promise.

Money VS Budget // Chanel VS DesignInVerso

 photo MoneyVsBudgetCollage_zps35e3b822.jpg
Trying out something new with this 'Money vs. Budget'-category. I hope you like it!
I'm totally against brands who shamelessly copy a coveted it-item and even more when they claim it to be the 'real deal'. I remember walking into Sac d'Anvers a while ago, finding myself surrounded by fake Balenciaga's. There wasn't a Balenciaga-tag or anything like that, but they were exact copies. The fact that I was holding my own Balenciaga, made it even worse. Oh, the horror!

I am, on the other hand, very aware that most high street brands take inspiration straight from the runway to design their own collections. There's absolutely nothing wrong with being inspired by someone or something. That's what I want to achieve with this new category on the blog: showing you an highly coveted item and telling you where you can find a similar version, inspired (not copied) by the real deal.

Chanel's Boy bags have been around for a while now and I have a feeling they're here to stay. I love them, worship them even, but that bloody price tag... There's no way that it'll be hanging on my shoulder in the near - or far - future. While I was browsing the LuisaViaRoma-website (the bag section, to be more precise), I came across this bag from DesignInVerso. I immediately had to think about the Boy, without feeling sick to my stomach because of my 'copy issue'. Another bonus? It costs about 125 euros, which is kinda awesome compared to the 1000 + euros you - without a doubt - will pay for a Boy bag.

(However, if you're in the position of being able to buy an authentic Chanel Boy bag, I'd say... Go for it!)
