Review // Clinique Pop Collection

Personal note:

I started writing this post, but for the last couple of days, I didn't have the strength and energy to finish it. The country I was born and raised in, my beloved Belgium, my teeny, tiny country, was attacked by terrorists. Dozens of people were killed in the attacks, hundreds are still badly injured. People who were coming home from a trip full of memories or were about to take off to make one. Some of them might have even saved money for years to finally be able to go on a holiday. People have lost their daughter, son, mother, father, brother, sister, cousin, niece, nephew, aunt, uncle or best friend. My heart is aching; not just for the attacks in Belgium, but for everyone affected in whatever attack all over the world. I refuse to be filled with anger towards certain religions. I live in a multi-cultural town and come from a multi-cultural family, I wasn't raised like this; I have family members who origin from Turkey, Morocco, Italy, the USA, Ecuador, the Dominican Republic and the Philippines. I refuse to judge and point fingers. My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected. We can not, we must not let hate rule. #PrayForTheWorld #StopTerrorism

The Clinique Pop Lacquer Lip Colour + Primer is a liquid lipstick and primer in one. The primer nurtures and hydrates the lips and guarantees a smooth application. It comes in 8 shades and this one is called 07 Go-Go Pop. It's a bright, hot pink which is perfect for spring and summer!

The curved, pointy applicator allows you to apply the lip gloss neat and precise, especially on the edges of the lips.

I usually only wear matte lipsticks, but the Clinique Pop Lacquer Lip Colour + Primer pleasantly surprised me. The texture is creamy and isn't as sticky as some lip glosses tend to be. The pigmentation is to die for; you can absolutely expect full coverage. Score! The gloss stays on perfectly fine, even though it's advised to retouch it a bit after you having a bite to eat.

The Clinique Pop Glaze Sheer Lip Colour + Primer is a silky smooth lipstick and nurturing primer in one. Just like the Pop Lacquer Lip Colour, it nurtures and hydrates your lips. It comes in 6 shades and this one is called 07 Sugar Plum Pop. It's a shimmery nude shade which is perfect for women who aren't a fan of bright, notable shades.

Sorry for the bad quality, but the lightning was horrible the day I took these pictures -- even my reflex camera couldn't fix it. Anyway, rewind to the lipstick: I really like the texture. It's smooth, easy to apply and isn't sticky. It gives a subtle, glossy, nude touch to the lips. However, I must admit that this color is way too simple for me. I prefer bold, bright, outstanding colors. Even thought it's not for me, I do think it's the perfect color for women who like to keep it simple. It's perfect for everyday use.

The Clinique Lid Pop is an eyeshadow that blends in with the skin without becoming 'powdery' (is that even a word?), thanks to a special new proces in which a liquid color is being baked into a light powder. You can intensify the color as much as you please. The eyeshadow comes in 6 colors and I received 08 Petal Pop: a soft pink color with a subtle golden touch, which is perfect for the warmer days to come.

We have a winner! I absolutely love Clinique Lid Pop in 08 Petal Pop. I applied it on my eyelid and used a darker color in my creases. The eyeshadow is super easy to apply and blends out perfectly. I love the blowy, yet natural vibe and it's definitely a look I'll try out more often. To me, this looks goes perfectly both day and night -- but I'd add a popping lipstick instead.
