Event // Opening Inglot Hasselt

DSC08465
Hear ye, hear ye! Some major news for all you beauty lovers... Inglot has finally landed in Belgium and it's only a twenty minute drive away from my home. I couldn't believe it either! The beauty brand opened its first store in Hasselt and it had to be celebrated, of course. The official opening event took place on 1 May, but I had to work that day (working on a national holiday, boo!), so I payed the sweet Inglot-team a visit the day after. Since most events take place in Brussels and Antwerp, I usually have to drive for at least an hour -- if I don't get stuck in a traffic jam on the way over, that is. So yeah, one of the few times something cool is happening around here, I can't be there. #Cries

Inglot is a Polish brand that started out with their first shop in a small town over 30 years ago. In 2006, they opened their first international store in Canada and things are going hard since then. After being sold in about 57 countries, Belgium's next and I couldn't be happier! Rumor has it that there's some kind of rivalry between Inglot and MAC, so being the rebel that I am, I asked one of the employees about it. Here's what she said:

"Here at Inglot, we really don't look at MAC as if they are our competitors. I think it's safe to say that there is plenty of room for both of us and that we complement each other."

The Inglot store is small and cosy and is - literally - packed with make up and beauty products. There's a super friendly team ready to help you with all of your questions about make up. Not sure which colors suit you best? Have a seat and let one of the make up artists do her thing, she will help you out and will make you look pretty in no time.

Anyway, enough with the babbling, take a look at the pictures below.

Like I said before: Inglot is a Polish brand and contrary to some other brands, everything is made in their own country. Yes, they have their own Inglot-factory! This will give them the opportunity to offer quality for lower prices. Now all say: "Thank you, Inglot!"

Most of the testers were touched and some products were missing, which shows how Inglot-fans already raided the store on the first day.

Inglot is most known for their Freedom System-palettes, which gives you the opportunity to create your own palette filled with your eyeshadow, blush, concealer, lipstick ... You can get palettes with space available for 1 up to 40 (!) products. Grab one of the magnetic boards (as pictured above), choose your favorite products, buy the palette and voilĂ , you're done! The prices are very, very reasonable: € 7 for a palette with space for 5 products, € 7 for lipsticks / eyeshadows / eyebrow powder / concealers, € 9 for blushes and € 11 for foundation.

I was (and still am) literally obsessed with these loose pigment powders, which most people use as eyeshadows. THEY.ARE.SO.GORGEOUS. But, since I didn't have a clue how to use them, I decided not to buy one, which I'm totally regretting after looking at the picture.

Of course, one of the employees noticed my stalker-ish ways around these glittering babies and asked if I wanted some more explanation about these powders. Yes, please. So, it basically comes to this: you can use these powders wherever and for whatever reasons. Some use it as eyeshadow, others use it to body paint. You can also transform the powder into a liquid substance by using Duraline. One drop is more than plenty. Use it as eyeliner, eyeshadow or to draw something on someone. If you're using it as eyeshadow: use the liquid version first and apply some of (the same) loose powder over it with a brush. I have a feeling the effect and colors will be va-va-voom! ♡

Another awesome product of which I didn't its existence: O₂M Breathable Nail Polish! Inglot has a trademark for this formula, which allows moisture and oxygen to pass, keeping your nails in the best condition possible. Please note: Inglot sells the O₂M Breathele Nail Polish but also sells regular nail polish, so you might want to keep that in mind if you're searching either one of these two.

Inglot also offers individual or group workshops to improve your make up skills. Cool, right? It's the perfect excuse for a night out with your girlfriends or the best birthday / bachelorette party / ... gift.

  3. Wow eigenlijk wel een beauty primeur voor Hasselt! Daar gaan we binnenkort samen een keertje naartoe! De losse pigmenten zien er echt mooi uit, maar de rest van de make-up maakt me ook hebberig! :)
