Feature // Sjiek Magazine via Het Belang Van Limburg

Photobucket
Hi guys!

Remember about the shoot I talked to you about here? Well, I can finally show you the result!
A while ago, I got interviewed by a journalist from Het Belang Van Limburg, a regional newspaper. They were doing an article about 3 fashion bloggers living in Limburg for their weekend magazine 'Sjiek'. I'm very honored to say that I'm one of them. The fact that it's my first feature on paper makes it even more special. When I saw myself in the magazine, I found it so surreal. I still can't believe it.

Now, this wouldn't be possible without your constant love and support, so I would like to thank you for  your sweet comments and emails. Shark Attack has grown so much because of you and I'm hoping to continue this journey with y'all for a very long time!

To see my feature, you can click below.

Big kiss and hug,

Krizia

Outfit // Wish You Were Here

Photobucket
Being the band shirt collector that I am - I own band shirts from Guns 'n Roses, Nirvana, The Doors, Jimi Hendrix ... to name a few - I was almost screaming of excitement when I saw this fringed, no-sleeved Pink Floyd band shirt. It only seemed natural to use the title of one of my favorite Pink Floyd songs as the title of this post.

The bracelet with the single skull was given to me by Maasmechelen Village during the Stijn Helsen store opening and I got the other one at a small jewelry shop. I'm a big fan of practically everything with skulls.

I'm wearing my new Zara booties I showed you in the previous post and I couldn't wait to wear it. I liked the pop of white in this all black outfit -- I think its kinda rock 'n roll. What do you think?

New // Zara Studded Booties

Photobucket
Say hello to my new babies!
I found these at Zara during my shopping trip to Antwerp yesterday and I'm sooo in love with them. My heart literally stopped when I saw these booties. I told my BF that I had to have them no matter what and he totally agreed with me. He's the best.

I'm usually not a fan of white shoes, but after looking for them in black first and trying these ones afterwards, my BF and I decided that I should go for white. They match my rock soul perfectly and I already know that they'll be glued to my feet permanently. I'm one happy girl right now! My mom  and I just shot some outfit pics, which I'll show you in my next post. So stay tuned to see these precious fellas in an outfit!

I think they'll look even better when they're completely worn off. It's a thing I have with shoes. I like them better when they're totally worn to death than when they're brand new.

What do you think? Hit or miss?

Event // Lipstick & Bubbles Party @ Hotel Bloom

Photobucket
A couple of weeks ago, I received an invitation from the friendly people at Hotel Bloom in Brussels to party with them at the Lipstick & Bubbles party in the hotel. Since Brussels isn't the best place to walk around alone at night, especially if you're a girl, Hotel Bloom even offered me a room to stay for the night. So thoughtful! I'm always in for a party, even if they don't have Martini (lame joke, never mind), so I took off to Brussels with my friend Hille last weekend.

I was very excited to stay at the hotel, since I saw a reportage about it on TV just a couple of days before my stay there and boy, it's pretty! I'm a big fan of modern furniture and architecture and Hotel Bloom is all that. Just have a look at the pictures and you'll see what I mean. :)

P.S.: Could you - pretty please - click HERE and like my picture? It would mean the world to me, since I'm currently in first place and it gives me the chance to win a half year of free shoes! Thanks in advance!

Video // The Big You by UPR

Video: Unlimitedpr.be

Yes, another post, but this video was wayyy too fun not to show you right away!
Remember the post I wrote about The Big You by Unlimited PR a couple of days ago? Well, sometimes pictures aren't enough and videos tell you way more. So, here's the official video of the event!

Can you spot me?
I told you about my sugar addiction and the fact that I was eating way too much cupcakes at the event, right? Well, here's the evidence. :'D

Event // Stijn Helsen & Francis Ferent Opening @ Maasmechelen Village

Photobucket
Last Thursday, I got invited to two new store openings at Maasmechelen Village, the outlet shopping place to be if you're around: Stijn Helsen and Francis Ferent

Lets start with Stijn Helsen. His name might not ring a bell just yet, but this Belgian (born and raised) fella has quite a résumé: after studying at L'Instituto Marangoni in Milan, he was a freelancer at Vivienne Westwood and Valentino. Afterwards, he contributed to designing the Spiderman and Pirates Of The Caribbean costumes and provided A-list celebs such as Robbie Williams, Hugh Grant, Matt Dillon, Keanu Reeves and Lenny Kravitz of an outfit. Quite something, huh?

After opening his flagship stores in Hasselt, he now turns to Maasmechelen Village to run an outlet store. I was very honored to be a part of it. It's always great to see a Belgian designer expanding and developing his brand. Our Belgian designers don't always get the credit they deserve.

To see a photo reportage of the opening - and don't forget the Francis Ferent opening too - just click, click, click below!

WARNING: Two store openings equals picture overload

Outfit // Yo Ho, A Pirate's Life For Me

Photobucket
My outfit I wore to the opening of the Stijn Helsen and Francis Ferent stores at Maasmechelen Village, but I'll talk to you about that in my next post. :)

I totally felt like a badass pirate, especially wearing these pants. Judging by the looks of others, they must've thought I looked like a clown or something, but I don't really care. I'm already used to the fact that people around here aren't used to seeing something 'different', so ... The jacket was a gift from my dad - he knows me so well - and I'm so in love with it. I don't wear it very often, though. Special occasions only.

I'm so bummed that I had to miss out on the River Island Summer Fashion Show and the 20 Years Verso Party, though. Trying to attend three events in one day, of which two are more than a one hour drive away, is just too difficult. I have to move to Antwerp, period. #Yawn

I'm loving these pictures my mom took, especially the lighting. I didn't edit them one single bit, can you believe it? My mom gets better in taking pictures day by day and I'm sooo loving it.

Contest // Help Me Win Sacha Shoes

Photobucket
Some of you have probably seen this picture somewhere in my previous post, but now that sh*t is getting serious, I decided to dedicate a post to it. Now, I'm usually not one to spam and stalk everyone on my Twitter and Facebook page, but I'm am going to now. Why?
Because I'm currently second in the competition and because I can win a half year of free Sacha shoes if I'll be first. I've never won a give away or contest before and lets face it ... Being second is just frustrating, okay? :D

What do you have to do?

1. Take a 2 seconds break.
2. Click HERE.
3. Press the 'like' button.
4. Remember that sharing is caring.
5. Remember that you don't only have to like my picture, but that you can also like other pictures that you like. I'm not a total bitch when it comes to contest or competitions, you know? ;)
6. Remember that you and your friends, family and pets - if they have a Facebook-page - can vote 'till the 26th of March.

I'd already like to thank everyone that voted for me and for those who haven't yet, but will after this post: thank you in advance!

Event // The Big You

Photobucket
Hi everyone!

First of all, I'd like to thank you for all the sweet comments, tweets and messages on my Facebook page about the new lay out. I'm so happy - and a little bit relieved, I must say - you all like it!

I've been so excited about The Big You event, hosted by the sweet people at Unlimited PR. They started teasing me, and lots of other Belgian bloggers, with a mysterious invitation. Since I'm not the most patient person walking around the surface, I couldn't wait for the 8th of March to arrive. DianaEvelien and I drove off to Antwerp - and got lost a couple of times on our way there - and were welcomed by the enthusiastic and amazingly sweet UPR-team. Oh, and as you can see on the picture above, we were welcomed by these colorful cupcakes. Being the sugar lover that I am, I tried out all three of them and mmm-mmm... I have no words.

I'd like to thank the UPR-team for an amazing day full of treats and for taking care of us.

I'm babbling - or typing, actually - again, so I'm going to shut up and let you watch the pictures.
Just click, click, click below to see them. :)

Outfit // Flower Girl

Photobucket
Not the type of pants I'd see myself wear immediately, but when I walked by my local H&M, these pants immediately caught my eye. I love the fact that the pants still have a lot of black in them - you know me when it comes to black. Black's my thing. Since some of the flowers had the same pastel pink color as my new blazer, I found it the perfect opportunity to wear them together. I wore this outfit to the Big You event, hosted by UPR, which I'll talk to you about in my next post.

Notice anything different? Yep, the new lay out is online and I couldn't be happier about it! What do you think? It was designed by the talented twin brothers Jarne and Yordi a.k.a. Twinski - they're fun and easy to work with. :)
All I need now is a .com and I'm ready to take this blog to a whole new level.

Outfit // Think Pink, Part II

Photobucket
The sun is shining now and then today, so I decided to ignore the fact that it's still winter and bring some spring into my life. Yes, I'm wearing the denim shirt again. I'm so in love with it - It's comfy and so versatile, you could create a dozen of outfits with it. I was experimenting with my clothes this morning and I kinda liked the denim / powder pink combo. Plus, it was the perfect excuse to take out my Marc by Marc Jacobs clutch again. It was a birthday present from my aunt last November, but I've only had the chance to wear it twice due to the bad weather.  I also just realised that, besides the bag, every item I'm wearing is from H&M. How I love that store!

My cold is slowly going away - After being forced to stay awake the previous nights, I was able to breathe again last night and get a good night sleep. Just in time, since there are some fun events coming up the next weeks.

I also got a first preview of the new lay out of the blog and I'm SO excited. I absolutely love it and I can't wait to show you! If everything goes well, it should be online by Friday. I'll keep you updated!

Detail // Think Pink, Part I

Photobucket
I'm sooo ready for spring and summer with these pink blazers. Rumor has it that it's snowing again in Belgium. I haven't seen any snow around here for the moment, but I'm gonna scream if I do, I swear to God! I'm still having the worst cold ever and I'm hoping that it'll be gone by Thursday, since there's an exciting event coming up in Antwerp. More on that later. :)

One of these blazers is new. Can you guess which one? I'm sure some of you will already recognize two of them. Which one's your favorite?

P.S.: Ladies, vergeet niet dat, als je in België woont, je met mijn Zara voucher give away kan meedoen! Klik hier voor de give away en veel succes!

Beauty // Katy Perry Lashes by Eylure

Photobucket
Friday morning. About 8.30 in the morning. The bell rings.
Now, since I was home alone and my mom always told me I'm not allowed to answer the door to strangers (lol), I first decided to stay in bed. But most of the time, people ringing your doorbell in the morning usually come with something good. I didn't order anything, but hey, you never know if you have a secret admirer who wants to spoil you with stuff, right? So, I decided to answer the door anyway - I'm such a rebel.

I found a package with my name on it - I always get so excited when I get mail, even if it's in a silly envelope - and it turns out that the sweet people at Yapado were the 'secret admirers' this time. I think the package's already giving some clues on what's inside the bag, but if you want to know for sure, just click, click, click below!

Feature // Steps City Magazine

Photobucket

I got featured on the Steps City Magazine Blog -- They're showing their personal top 30 Flemish fashion blogs and I'm happy to say that Shark Attack's on number 21. :)
I would've ranked Annebeth higher, though - she deserves more than a 26th place - but I guess we should be proud that we're even in the top 30. So, I'm not going to complain too much. The articles are all in Dutch, but you can click here to read mine and click here to see all of them. I figured that it's always nice to get to know new fashion blogs, right?

x Krizia

P.S.: You might notice a different 'design' on the blog. I was trying a few things out yesterday and I managed to screw everything up somehow. I'm now looking for someone who could design a proper lay out, but I'm hoping you'll stick with me (and this ugly lay out) for the moment!

Tips & Tricks // Stylish At The Office + Zara Give Away

Source: cdn.inthegame.nl

Having a job interview or starting a new job at the office soon? We all know how dreadful job interviews can be and while some might not know it... Don't underestimate the importance and / or impact of the outfit you're wearing to your job (interview). Remember: first impressions can make or break you and you'll never get a second chance to change the first thing that popped up into someone's mind when saw you for the first time.

To help you out, Shark Attack teamed up with Monster Belgium a.k.a. Belgium's number one recruiting network. We thought it would be nice to share some tips with my readers. What to wear during a jobinterview, a day at the office ...?
Here are some tips to get you started:

* Corporate Chameleon

If possible, try to find out as much as you can on the company's dress code policies. This will give you the chance to adapt your outfit to the company, which will give them the impression you belong there right away. If you're having a job interview at VOGUE, it's natural that you can spice up your outfit just that little bit more than when you're having a meeting at a lawyer's office.

* When In Doubt, Go For Professional

Looking like a pro will hardly give you a bad score, even if the company's environment is more casual.

* Be Comfortable

Not totally feeling your outfit? Don't wear it! People will notice and you will miss your opportunity to shine and look confident. Confidence is the key, ladies and gents!

* The Center Of Attention ...

... is you! So, try to avoid over-the-top prints, make up and bling bling jewelry. They will derive the attention from your personality and what you have to say.

* Make It Your Own

Looking professional does not mean that you have to look completely boring. It's okay to give your look a personal touch, just don't take it to extreme levels.

I hope that the tips above were somewhat useful!
