Outfit // Too Short

The last couple of days have been hectic, I had a lot of things to do for school. I had a day off from school today, and of course, the weather was terrible. While taking a break from doing homework,
I snapped a couple of pictures. Since I knew I would be staying in for most of the day, I decided to go for a simple, all black outfit with some golden details. I love a black and gold combination.

The Gucci-belt is a gift from my mom, she knew I wanted a belt like that and out of the blue, she bought it for me! It defenitely is one of my most favourite and most cherished pieces, just like my Chanel-bag, which I bought myself and which is probably the reason why I show highly obsessive and protective behaviour about it.

I have a wedding on Saturday, so I'm going to the beauty salon right now to get all the necessary things done. ;)

Dress: ZARA // Tights: H&M // Heels: NEW LOOK

P.S.: Looking at those pictures, I'm starting to think that my mom was right: The dress is too short to be worn with tights, it might be better to wear leggings the next time!

Outfit // The Man Who Sold The World

The weather is still nice, even though it's not that warm as it was a couple of days ago. But that couldn't stop me from wearing my favourite faux leather jacket I bought at Bershka 4 years ago. It was a great buy for a great price and it survived most of my other leather jackets - more expensive ones that I bought at Mango, for example. That's why I love this jacket so much: it wasn't expensive, but it has lasted for over the years.

And again, I'm wearing a 'bandshirt'. This time a David Bowie-shirt I bought at Dolce & Gabbana last year. When I was younger, I always wanted my eyes to have different colours, just like David Bowie.
And in my opinion, he's still looking pretty good for a 63-year-old - not to mention that he makes great music.

Editorial // Baptiste Giabiconi For L'Officiel Hommes China

I was amazed when I saw Baptiste Giabiconi's editorial in the Chinese L'Officiel Hommes, where he portrays some of my most favourite music icons of all time. Baptiste isn't afraid to take some risks or challenges, which I like so much about him. (Can't deny he's pretty good looking, too.)

I love the Jim Morrison-photo, it's my favourite. I'm a big fan of The Doors and I think Baptiste looks a lot like Jim on that picture. I'm still waiting for my dad to take me to Paris, so that I can visit Jim's grave at Père Lachaise.

The only thing I must admit, is that he scares me as Lady Gaga. :)

Outfit // Guns 'n Roses

The sun has finally returned, after weeks of absence. It was the perfect opportunity for me to wear one of my favourite shirts: my Guns 'n Roses band shirt, which I bought at Urban Outfitters.

I bought the blue ballerina flats at Zara and I must admit that I only bought them so that I could wear them with this shirt. They're a size too small, so they hurt quite a bit, but I just had to have them! The jeans is from H&M - I buy most of my jeans there, I love the way they fit.

Guns 'n Roses has been one of my favourite bands ever - the OLD Guns 'n Roses, that is. I'm not a big fan of the new group. I've been secretly wishing that the old members might come together for a comeback / reunion, but I know that it is only wishful thinking.

I also added a video of one of my favourite Guns 'n Roses songs: 'Don't Cry'. It still gives me goosebumps every time I listen to it. I hope you like it too!

Shark Attack Talks... // Designer Clothes Bad For Our Health?

I found an article on the website of the Dutch Grazia, stating that designer clothes' quality is very bad and that they even might be bad for our health. Chinese investigators say that clothes of Versace, Hermès, Paul & Shark, Hugo Boss, Dolce & Gabbana (and others) contain formaldehyde, a substance that might cause skin and eye irritations, allergies and even cancer.

Up 'till now, I never had any problems with any of my 'more expensive' clothes, so I'll keep wearing them. :)

Here are some pictures of one of my favourite D&G collections, the Fall 2009 RTW collection. I made a post about the collection once. I don't know about the bad substances, but the clothes don't seem of bad quality to me.

What do you think?

Video // Lady Gaga ft. Beyoncé - Telephone

I think we've all seen the amazing new video of Lady Gaga and Beyoncé, called 'Telephone'. I love the way Lady Gaga comes up with brilliant new ideas for her outfits, she is so creative!

When I saw the video for the first time, I was wondering if all of Lady Gaga's outfits were from her own label 'Haus of Gaga' (They aren't, by the way!). My sister sent me a site where you can see a list of all the fashion credits in the video. It's a nice summary, plus pictures, of what Lady Gaga and Beyoncé are wearing, including the name of the designers.

Fashion Show // Louis Vuitton RTW F/W 2010

Paris Fashion Week is coming to an end and Marc Jacobs had the honour to close off the Fall fashion shows with Louis Vuitton. When I saw the models strutting the runway, the first thing that popped up in my mind was:

'They look like modern Grease girls!'

Grease has always been one of my favourite movies, not only for the catchy songs, but also for the clothes they're wearing. And, I must admit, John Travolta looked damn good during the Grease period!

Another thing I loved, was the fact that Mr. Jacobs chose beautifully curved models to show the pieces. He even picked some Victoria Secret-models, such as Adriana Lima and Alessandra Ambrosio. The last model to come up the runway was Elle Macpherson, a.k.a. The Body, and I must say: She looks absolutely stunning!

P.S.: Is that Pixie Geldof sitting front row???

Outfit // Empire State Of Mind

Every time I wear this Fashion's Night Out-shirt, Jay Z's song 'Empire State Of Mind' pops into my head. It was a gift from my sister - She went to New York last year, right before the Fashion Week started.

This black and white outfit was a perfect opportunity for me to debut the Balenciaga bag I bought in Antwerp. A lot of people tell me I'm crazy to spend so much money, because 'it is just a bag'. I really don't see it that way. I see it as an investment, since I expect to have this bag (and all of my other bags) for life. But I do understand why a lot of people would call me crazy, since it is a lot of money, but the Balenciaga bag really is worth its money. The many colours, the soft leather, the details ... So amazing. I would recommend Balenciaga to everyone!

Fashion Show // Balmain RTW F/W 2010

It's useless to say that I love Balmain jackets, I think that everyone will agree. I was holding a Balmain jacket when I was in Antwerp a couple of weeks ago - I loved it, but I put it back when I saw the price tag. They're just a little too much for my budget. But a girl can dream, right? So, here are a few pictures of the Fall 2010 RTW-show. These outfits are my favourites, even though it was a hard decision to pick them out. I love the Prince / Jimi Hendrix-jackets and the sequined dresses. Balmain sure knows how to design some stunning pieces!

Good job, Mr. Decarnin, good job!

Shark Attack Loves... // Rodarte Glow In The Dark Shoes

It looks like fashion keeps evolving more and more every second and I'm so thankful for that, because they keep coming with the craziest, but also most brilliant ideas.

I was, and still am, completely fascinated by the shoes with the glow in the dark-heels at the Rodarte fashion show. They look like the kind of shoes only fairies would wear. Seriously, I would be afraid to wear them! I'm already freaking out if I scratch my New Look-shoes, so I can't imagine how I would react if I would own these beauties and something would happen to them. I think I would use them as a night lamp for my bedside table, where they would be safe and sound. =)

And I'm sorry for the lack of updates. My internship has taken all of my time the past two weeks, but it ends this Thursday, so I'll be able to post more very soon!
