New Treat

Yesterday, I went to Antwerp with my mom and my sister.
I did not have the intention to buy anything special,
or something I wanted in particular, but somehow I managed to get home with my first Balenciaga City-bag!

We entered a store that sells Balenciaga-bags,
and I was fascinated by the different colours they had there.
My sister already owns two Balenciaga's,
but I never really thought of getting one myself since I had been addicted to my Chanel 2.55 and my Dolce & Gabbana-handbag my dad got me last summer.

But when I saw those coloured Balenciaga's, all lined up next to each other,
I heard a little voice in my head saying:
"Look at how cute they are. You know you want one, admit it."
And the little voice was right.
First, I wanted to buy a black one, but when I had the bag in my hands,
I realised that black is just black, and that I already had so many black or dark coloured handbags.

I decided to get a raisin/purple-coloured one instead,
since grass green and bubblegum pink is not really my style.
Here's a picture of my bag - I promise to get some better pictures, but I have a 2 week during internship coming up which takes most of my time! :(

Supporting Haïti & Honouring Alexander McQueen.

I did not like Naomi Campbell very much since I've heard about her abusive behavior towards her assistants, but it seems that her heart is in the right place.

Naomi organised two charity runways to collect money for the people living in a destroyed Haïti.
The project is called 'Fashion For Relief Haïti'.
The first one took place last Friday night and a lot of celebs were present,
such as Diane Von Furstenberg, Kelly Osbourne, Donna Karan, ...

Despite the fact that the charity runways were  being organised for Haïti,
Naomi took the time to honour the late Alexander McQueen.
She walked down the runway, flanked by other models who were all dressed in McQueen,
including Daphne Guinness and Helena Christensen.

Way to go, Naomi, this has changed my opinion about you in a more positive way!
It's nice to see that 'powerful' people try everything in their power to help others in need.

*UPDATE*

I found a video of Agyness Deyn falling down on the catwalk of Fashion For Relief Haïti twice.
It's kind of funny,
I like the way she pulls herself together and laughs about it!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I hope you all have some nice plans for Valentine's day.
I'm going out to have dinner with my BF,
so I decided to put on a new dress I bought yesterday.

I found this dress at New Look,
and it reminded me of Luella's S/S 2010 heart-shaped dresses. I made a post about the show.

Alexander McQueen commits suicide... - R.I.P.

I was working for my internship when my sister called me with the message:

"Alexander McQueen committed suicide!"

I was in doubt at first, but then I saw this article.
I can't believe it!
I wonder what could have caused this tragedy.

I remember when I bought my very first Alexander McQueen-scarf, I was so proud!
And who wasn't watching McQueens 'Atlantis' fashion show with wide eyes and open mouth?
He was a genius...
Rest in peace, you will be greatly missed...

What A Shock...

My sister sent me this article earlier with the headline:

'Before' photo confirms Photoshop at play in Madonna's Louis Vuitton campaign.

I really started laughing when I read the article.
I don't think anyone needs a before photo to know that Madonna was photoshopped.
Even a 20-year-old would look as fake as Madonna does, being retouched like that!
And I know that every photograph that makes a campaign or front cover of a magazine has been retouched, but this is just too obvious.

Behind The Scenes At Chanel.

I was watching a show on Belgian television about royals all over the world,
when they suddenly announced that they would show behind the scenes-footage
of the Chanel Spring / Summer 2010 fashion show.

After some searching, my sister found a French article containing some of the
footage they showed on TV.(Thanks, sis'!)

I tried to translate the most important information - click here to see the full article
and the footage.

New Shoes...

My sister and I were shopping when I saw these Versace shoes.
I'd seen them a couple of times before, but I wasn't too sure about them.
I was afraid I would never wear them because of the colour and print.

As I used to do before,
I entered the Versace store to look at them once again.
I now noticed that they were being sold at a very good price,
so I decided that it was some kind of sign and I bought them.
I must admit that they are a bit painful to walk in,
but beauty is pain, right?

When I Get Married...

... I want an Elie Saab wedding dress.
Don't worry, I don't have any plans to get married in the near and far future,
but that doesn't mean that I'm not looking for the right wedding dress!

And I think Elie Saab is the right person to design my perfect dress.
(The fact that he probably won't fit into my budget doesn't matter at the moment.)
He may be a tiny man, but he designs great dresses!

Also, I've decided that I want two dresses:
one more 'over-the-top' dress for church and a more cocktail-like dress for the party afterwards.
It seems more comfortable to dance in. ;)

Keeping that in mind, I watched all the Elie Saab couture shows I could find,
selecting my most favourite dresses.
That part, I must admit, was very hard for me - since I wanted to put all the pictures here,
but I think I managed in the end.

As you can tell from the pictures, I don't have one particular style when it comes to wedding dresses.
I have to like the dress from the first moment I look at it, it doesn't matter if it is simple or over-the-top.
And I also don't mind if my perfect wedding dress is not white, if another colour suits the dress well,
it's all fine by me.

So, here are a few of the dresses I would wear to church and to the party afterwards.
Enjoy!
